Call cold Microsoft TechnicalSupport

A call center, which would have been the Support technique Microsoft, called me repeatedly telling me that my computer is infected with a virus that none of the antivirus software can detect.  The phone number on my caller ID was a few random digit - not a phone number. When I told him that I didn't believe that he was from Microsoft, it gave me the 213-261-7441 number and asked me to check it out and reminder. The first time I got this call, the appellant wanted to show me the errors in my error log and fix the problem by using a third-party chat download that also allow remote access to my desktop computer.  He could not correctly identify my version of windows, claiming that its error reports do not include this information and then told me that I had XP - WRONG! My understanding is that Windows error reports include the version as well as the nature of the error information and Microsoft call only if the contact was initiated by a user, either by phone or through via the Microsoft Web site. The persistence of these calls is ridiculous

It's a SCAM.

Their contempt.

Thanks for posting.

See you soon.
