call from Microsoft Windows
someone called me, collection of shells from Microsoft Windows and my computer is at risk. then tell me to go to the site if I can get the ID # so they can go to my computer and show me the problems. At first, I said no, but... anyway. My question is, they can get anything from my computer with out know me? I was looking for when he has been opening, where it says message Erro, to show me what he's talking about and don't see anything download, or by analyzing the files.

It sounds like you were forced to install TeamViewer or some similar remote desktop software. These are legitimate programs that will not be picked up by the antivirus or anti-malware analysis. The problem is that scammers use versions of free-to-use home to accomplish their nefarious means.
Uninstall and never leave anonymous 'expert' have access to your computer from the Internet.

I just had a phone call from microsoft/windows technical help
I feel so stupid that I fell for this but I don't
!). I told him that I would call the Bank later. reluctantly, she said ok, but said she'd call me in an hour - I said all that. It's then the strange thing happened - I tried to disconnect my computer, but it forced somehow back to and typed a message saying that please let me connected disconnect. I typed a message and said you have learned to be pleasant and able to stop everything. then (the storys stops not here oh no) it sounds me only true to his word back an hour the second later. and said - have you talked to your bank. I said yes. What did say, she said. I said, that they said that you are a crook. at this point she just freaked out at me. told me that I needed psychiatric help. so I said, and you have to find a good job and stop robbing the people hard earned money there. then she said something quite scary. She said you wait awhile and just see what we are capable of... I hung up and then cause a chill went down my spine.so my not very different history of all these other... Indian guy asked all week saying he needed emergency talk to me on the serious malicious virus on my computer. He said it was from Microsoft technical and necessary support about half an hour of my time. I asked him to ring back several times because with young children, it was never the right time. Anyway, he called again this morning and I thought I had better address this issue as it sounded quite serious, it sounded very authentic for me and in my mind, I thought that somebody to call me every day this week, he must be who he is, he said. so he took me through a website (I think it was logmein123) and asked me to enter a code and said that his colleague would then control my computer. which she did, all the time the guy was on the end of the phone explaining what she was doing. She presented as andrea williams from the Manchester direction! She then spent over the next 40 minutes on my computer. towards the end the guy says ok we have identified as you can see (I could see some sort of thing report on my computer at this point) we found quite a few mistakes - we can fix these for you. OK, I said. Andrea williams then says I have to download to your computer one of these options (it then lists the 4 different but recommend the 4th option at a cost of £289 I foolishly said okay.) a form then appeared on my computer asking for my card details name address date of birth ect - what I have briefed (BTW im currently hitting my head on the table where I'm writing this at my stupidity!) Fortunately my beautiful Bank was on the ball and refused a payment. This was the point that they have began to have a bit narky with me. the guy said he was going to pass me to andrea from Manchester who would talk to me in person to try to settle this payment. me thinking that I was going to talk to someone with a manchester accent... don't be stupid... .i started talking to another very Indian lady who was very rude and very impatient with me. then she said to me (Yes told me) do to ring my Bank while it took place on the line to address this issue. It was then I thought no Ive has had enough and finally, alarm bells began to ring! (all right all right I recently had two children, you know)Sorry to go on and give you every little detail but despite jokes he really shake me and I hope that warn you other people that these people are horrible and won't stop not stalking you until they get what they want, even when they have been rumbled. they have no scruples or even care about their effects on people. They you in real, and they are completely credible. After the call I informed fraud action (UK) the 03001232040 that gives you a reference of crime and pass information to the police. I was also advised to get a reputable company computer to look at the computer where they left any damage to the computer.can someone advise in the meantime if I need to do anything with regard to my computer, like most I'm now worried that they have endangered the security of my computer. also can they get on my computer once again without knowing me.Suggest you read the following: http://ask-leo.com/i_got_a_call_from_microsoft_and_allowed_them_access_to_my_computer_what_do_i_do_now.html
Recommend you cancel card credit/financial accounts that could be in your computer and change all passwords and have you reformat/reinstall your operating system.
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows/help/install-reinstall-uninstall
Your computer and information (financial or other) must be considered as a compromise. You can uninstall everything related to logmein123 (which is a program legitimate and it is doubtful that the scammers could not back into your computer), but I wouldn't recommend that you even connect to the internet until it is reformatted.
Good luck...

Phone call from Microsoft windows scam
Hello
I received a phone call saying he was Microsoft Windows and there are system reported that my computer was full of viruses and malware, and they said that my computer was sending viruses in e-mails that they lock my email account in order to protect others. They knew my name and said they could make me a lot if I could prove that I was learned as they need my bank details to level from 4 years of life support that will continue with new computers to replace old. I stupidly gave details as he said that if I did it would install antivirous in the computer as a dinner he says my current software wasn't good.
Then he forced me to enable remote assistance and took me to the purchase for Business Package of distance page help for New World Services Inc. and forced me to enter my data I did. After completing the session, I received an email of New World Services Inc., saying that I had bought the business package and looking upward found only for four years. I then went to my Bank and the cashier told me it was a scam and I got mannaged to cancel the card before it empied my account although New World Services Inc. did take £252.00 my account and told them about the scam and that I don't want there services and do not call me.
I always get calls saying they are Microsoft Windows or they are malicious and calling about my computer with virus software and when I don't, thank you and hung up there have been moments when someone else says the exact same words as little as an hour later, well that people call regularly as now I know most of them as soon as they speak.
They installed ammyy to allow access through my firewall to send windows logs them so with selected McAfee frirwall and ammyy blocked as they had shown me the observer of events the adminastrative events and said cuircles reds are virouses and yellow triangles are malware. When I said that the red circle is when I did a forced when troubleshooting stop where I pressed the button for a few seconds.
Then I got a phone call saying could I turn on my computer as the info from my computer that has virouses and malware had said. If blocking ammyy had worked as before they were able to tell red any yellow order of events. So I then removed my computer ammyy and that they would not receive the ball more.
When after I dial to get phone calls not the last call, I get when they called and get that they do not have the number of appellants and it has afflicted me that sometimes there was as little as an hour between calls, it seems I'd barr the number of fraudsters and barr New World Services Inc. If they continue to call and if need be I have to change my phone number.
1. contact your credit card company, if you had given the scammer, your credit card number.
-Cancel the card and ask for a replacement with different identification number.
-If you have paid the scammer with your credit card. The card has been compromised.2. contact your bank.
-Change the account.
-Change the PIN code.3. If you saw the crook of remote access to your computer, it is compromised.
-Reinstall Vista
-Use another user name and password.4. talk to your local law enforcement... If you want to go that far.
-Ask to speak to people in the Department of wire fraud. See if something can be done about it.5. change the phone number.
-Scammers will call you. They will not stop. -
We received a call last night from someone who claimed to be the Windows technical department saying that our computer has a file corrupted Microsoft on this issue. First name: Richard Williams. 0261 004030 callback number. Sounds like an Indian call center.
I can't believe that cold Microsoft calls people.
A quick search on google news suggests that people in Britain were targeted by something similar.
It's a scam.

Spooky or what! Earlier, while I was in the middle of writing a message on the Microsoft forums, I received a phone call on my landline to someone who says they were Microsoft Windows, and that they were calling on my computer (words to that effect), then the person (male) asked if I was on my computer. I hung up at this point! It could have a real call because I asked questions of the community over the last few days - or was it just a scam? If it was a scam, then, how very weird that I would get the call while I was actually on the Microsoft Web site invite!
And, even more strange that, in the course of my writing of this message, I would get a second phone call, Microsoft widows (a number beginning 00190...) aledgedly the person (female this time) telling me that my computer sends error messages, wondering if I am the owner of the computer and I'm on my computer now?
Is this a coincidence? or something different going on here? This is all very scary!

Call from Microsoft Security, is it a scam?
I got a call from "Microsoft Security", informing that my computer has been hacked and tried to get me a "pin" entry that they would provide. When I wondered where they were on they notify that they were "security for Microsoft" I didn't responded and asked a phone number back to them. The number is 253-220-7222, but I was not called again.
I suspect that it was a scam. Do you have any advice?

Calls from fake Windows remedy.
Original title: WINDOWS CURE SCAM.
I received several calls from fake Windows Cure then when I let them think I'm addicted I give them a very high-pitched extended with a panic alarm and which should give them a headache or earache.
Hello Sam Kig,.
It's certainly plausible. Forums of people who fell there are enough requests FRO help on this and other, pray for these scammers. Everything we offer in fact is that they re-install windows, change passwords and notify their bank that they have been scammed!
This forum post is my own opinion and does not necessarily reflect the opinion or the opinion of Microsoft, its employees or other MVPS.

I got a phone call from microsoft that malicious software is installed on my computer
I live in Toronto, Canada. Someone called me and told me that she calls me from Microsoft and said some malware is installed in my computer and she told me to turn on your computer and do the instruction, she tells me. I do not trust it because it's weird to have a call from microsoft on Saturday evening at 7:00. I said what happened if I didn't, she told me that she disconnects my server computer and tell my provider to block my IP address! I asked his emp ID, name and Department she calls, it just pass the phone to his supervisor, and when I insist on my view that I'm not you trust, he told me that you don't have any technical information. and it was very very rude... Finally I hung upward and the lady called me again and gave me this info: name: Abam Sorgr, empID: 21536 Windows operation system Dept., at Montreal, Canada, she gave me her employee ID:21536, the phone, her name was 65391989 which don't belonge to the Canada. I told him I check from microsoft and you can call me tomorrow. and now I have no idea?
These phone calls are usually of a person representing Windows rather than Microsoft, but in any case, the call was nothing else than a phishing attempt! Do not give any information.
Reported people on these calls for a person who represents Windows (note: not Microsoft).
It is a scam! Not to follow their instructions or advice and not to provide ANY information to them.
Because they use the internet lines and/or phone to complete their fraud, there may be federal agencies in your country who are interested in discovering their calls (e.g. RCMP). Their report directly to the appropriate agency if you feel you can contribute to their arrest and the charges.
Microsoft do NOT pick up the phone and start dialing customers and never phones/e-mails asking for personal information or asking them to visit a web site! Please do not take into account these calls and hang up immediately.
On another note, if you have problems with your computer, please do not hesitate to post a description of the situation and the error messages you received in those forums. We would be happy to help you. (information staff unnecessary or requested !)

First I called Microsoft and don't think that they work this way. Also, this same thing happens to my friend here in Idaho a couple of weeks. Is this a scam going around and if it is why didn't Microsoft addressed the issue in a public way?
