Good! Hanging up was the right thing to do. The call was a scam, and

Call from Windows Service Center on errors in Event Viewer
I received a call from a person named Jeff Ipkiss saying he was from the Windows Service. He said that he called because I was a loyal customer of windows and he wanted to fix my pc of some errors as it gets when I download files. I asked how he knew, he said his company gets alerts when clients receive error messages. He asked me to go in the Viewer (eventvwr.exe) events I watched administrative events and Windows logs and saw many warnings and errors. He also had me go into the filter to search by errors, and I could see several errors. After he checked, I had several errors, he tried to connect to my PC to correct the errors. (He assured me that it would be a tax)! I asked why he did and again he said "because you are such a loyal customer of windows. He also said that if there was any critical errors, there may be a small fee. At this point that I have no comfortable giving him access to my system, that's why I asked for an email check his business and his company's identity. I received the email from * address email is removed from the privacy * , I just did not trust so I hung up. What is a reputable company?

I had a pohone call from someone in India who says he works for the Windows Service Center. The number they gave me to call back was 13212806757. Finally, I clung to the top. Is it a hoax?
YES. In service centers, YOU call them all first, is not the other way around, lol. Just hang up you may feel like you to be rude, but they are much worse... Conning out you as much money as they can! ;)

I downloaded Windows XP from the Windows Service Center. It's a .exe. When I click on it, it is extracted to a folder I called "xp". How can I obtain these data on a disk to install XP from a CD? Should what steps I take? I am running Windows 7.
original title: Burning a disk XPPutting aside if the 64-bit version of XP is what you need, when you ran the exe, the file that was extracted (i.e., in the folder named "xp") should have been an ISO file.
Files ISO are CD images and are intended to be burned (NOT copied) to a writable CD.
Assuming that you have the correct hardware (CD burner), you can burn your ISO as described here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Burn-a-CD-or-DVD-from-an-ISO-file
Note that what you downloaded is NOT "Windows XP Mode" which is available for use with Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition. The image you uploaded is for installation on a separate computer (or in a dual-boot configuration) - assuming you have the required license keys.

Hello
Acrobat 8.0 is not compatible with Windows 10.
To install Adobe Acrobat Pro 8.0, your Windows system must be running Microsoft Windows 2000 with Service Pack 4; Windows Server 2003 (64-bit or 32-bit editions) with Service Pack 1; Windows XP Professional, Home, Tablet PC, or editions x 64 with Service Pack 2 or Windows Vista Home Basic, Home Premium, Ultimate, Business, or Enterprise (32-bit editions or 64-bit). You must have Microsoft Internet Explorer 6 or 7 is installed.

I tried to download a 'Virtual Villagers' Limewire program (what was I thinking?) and then I had all these virus that messed up my computer big time.
I have the error messages are:
Host process for Windows Services has stopped working as was closed.
The system could not find the environment option that was entered.
When I try to install the updates:
"WindowsUpdate_800700CB" "WindowsUpdate_dt000"
The change I made before all this was trying to install Limewire "Virtual Villagers" program.
I tried to go through the files and remove the sources of the Trojans, I ran several scans Malware Bytes (each indent to 4 Trojan horses, Rpot Kits, Ad/Spyware every time) and recently tried the Windows scanner. Who found 2 Trojan horses and withdrawn. Subsequently, I made a Malware Bytes scan which found 1 Trojan and I removed it.
I'm not able to create, delete or modify anything in the UAC. Uninstall the habit of most of the things I try to uninstall programs and features. I'm more able to control the volume on my computer with the arrow keys and Fn. My Gallery of photos will not preview more and my computer will not install updates. My computer turns off without warning a lot and takes awhile where I can turn it back on and I hope not to have it close back 20 minutes. I try to use the system restore, but it won't work. I don't have a Windows Vista disc.
How I have difficulty to all this and permanently delete all viruses and malware?
Hello
I suggest you try the following steps:
Step 1: Try to create another user profile, and then test to see if the problem persists
If you do not have a different user account, you will need to create a (see link below). If everything works fine with a different user profile, you can infer that the user profile is damaged, click on the link to find out how to solve this problem.

I had pre installed windows vista on my laptop. now, I replaced the hard drive. so, can we recover only windows giving you the serial number? I have sony laptop.
How to get Vista recovery Media and/or to use the Vista recovery Partition on your computer.
There is no Vista free download legal available.
Contact your computer manufacturer and ask them to send a recovery disk/s Vista set.
Normally, they do this for a cost of $ small.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Or borrow a good Microsoft Vista DVD (not Dell, HP, etc).
A good Vista DVD contains all versions of Vista.
The product key determines which version of Vista is installed.There are 2 disks of Vista: one for 32-bit operating system, and one for 64-bit operating system.
If install a cleaning is required with a good DVD of Vista (not HP, Dell recovery disks):
Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu
Error 80040154 from Windows Media Center Receiver Service
