Its a total scam. Uninstall their software and then perform a system restore before you install.
Change all your sensitive passwords at all sites - e-mail, Bank, credit cards and others. (Do not

You can even restore your system to factory fresh to make sure their software violates not

Scam call windows service from the centre of Miami, how did get my information?
I received a call from someone identifying themselves as Zack Martin of windows service center in Miami. He gave this phone number: 120 631 71742. He said he was calling about attacks on my computer. He had my name, the right to address and it gave me a 32 digit/letter windows license number. I told her that I couldn't talk to him now and call later today. He did not ask for money or be specific about the problem. How could he get the information he had on me? He said that I had to give her when I registered Windows. Jim in Vancouver

I downloaded Windows XP from the Windows Service Center. It's a .exe. When I click on it, it is extracted to a folder I called "xp". How can I obtain these data on a disk to install XP from a CD? Should what steps I take? I am running Windows 7.
original title: Burning a disk XPPutting aside if the 64-bit version of XP is what you need, when you ran the exe, the file that was extracted (i.e., in the folder named "xp") should have been an ISO file.
Files ISO are CD images and are intended to be burned (NOT copied) to a writable CD.
Assuming that you have the correct hardware (CD burner), you can burn your ISO as described here: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows7/Burn-a-CD-or-DVD-from-an-ISO-file
Note that what you downloaded is NOT "Windows XP Mode" which is available for use with Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition. The image you uploaded is for installation on a separate computer (or in a dual-boot configuration) - assuming you have the required license keys.

Call from Windows Service Center on errors in Event Viewer
I received a call from a person named Jeff Ipkiss saying he was from the Windows Service. He said that he called because I was a loyal customer of windows and he wanted to fix my pc of some errors as it gets when I download files. I asked how he knew, he said his company gets alerts when clients receive error messages. He asked me to go in the Viewer (eventvwr.exe) events I watched administrative events and Windows logs and saw many warnings and errors. He also had me go into the filter to search by errors, and I could see several errors. After he checked, I had several errors, he tried to connect to my PC to correct the errors. (He assured me that it would be a tax)! I asked why he did and again he said "because you are such a loyal customer of windows. He also said that if there was any critical errors, there may be a small fee. At this point that I have no comfortable giving him access to my system, that's why I asked for an email check his business and his company's identity. Security Windows Service Center has been removed
Hi all
I have a Windows 7 x 64 machine.
I had a virus, and just after its withdrawal, I discovered that the Windows Update Service and Windows Security Center Service has been removed.
I have reinstalled Windows Update Service, but could not find where I can download the software to reinstall the Windows Security Center Service...
How can I reinstall it?
Thank you for your help.
The service has been removed, not just turned off. So I'm more in the list of local services in Services.msc
This REG fix restores the missing Security Center service.

, I just received a phone call from someone claiming to be Centre. They of Windows Support tried to tell me that my computer was damaged and he sent them continually 'wireless error messages.
I hung up on them thinking that it was a scam but they knew my full name, address & telephone number.
Jumped the gun by hanging up on them?
What is the best way to know if the computer is damaged?
I have Kaspersky Pure on the computer.Fake phone calls to technical support
You have made the right choice.
Calls unrequested telephone of this nature are almost always a common scam. Do not let them give any info, do not give access to your PC, not give them all the money and do not go to all the websites that they suggest. One moment.
Please see:

Microsoft issues never not solicited for phone calls of support or security.
These types of callers can use completely fictitious names or bogusly claim to be of real companies other than Microsoft as well.

How to restore Windows Security Center Service
Action Center request that I turn on windows service center, when I try it says that windows Security Center service is disabled. The Windows Security Center does not appear in my list of programs. I have windows 7.
Click 'Start' / right click 'Computer', select 'manage '.
In the maintenance window of the computer in the left pane, select "Services and Applications", in the drop-down list, select 'Services '.
In the right pane scroll 'Security Center', the 'Startup Type' column must be set to: automatic (delayed start). If its not set correctly, then right click, select 'Properties' and in the tab "Général" set the "Startup Type" "automatic (delayed start), click 'Apply' and 'OK'."
Now, restart your PC.

Original title: do I have to re - install Windows 7?
Today, I opened the Action Center and noticed that Panda Internet Security reported he was off, when it wasn't. I checked the administrative events and one of the errors was: Security Windows Service Center could be same queries WMI to monitor third party antivirus, antispyware and firewall. I've got Panda IS 2012 running, which is a very good program.
I just spent a good hourzs little addressing a Panda technicina, who, after a lot of faffing autour, told me that I either set up a new profile, or I re - install Windows, I don't want to do, because I could lose the system restore facilities, (I had to ask Microsoft to help me address the issue of the restoration of the system because it did not work). The problem with the Security Center Windows Service dates back to August 10, 2011.
Anyone know what I'd do, which involves having to uninstall and reinstall Windows?
Kind regards
Emma D
Hello
1. which parameter is used to install Panda antivirus?
2 did you use typical or custom?
If you use Panda IS 2012 as an anti-virus, then Windows Security Center may have disabled the native Windows Firewall, that does send a real-time alert. You can try shooting the alert and check.

Avoid scams that use the Microsoft name fraudulently
Cybercriminals often include the names of well-known companies, such as ours, in their scams. They think it will convince you to give them money or your personal information. While they usually use e-mail to you wrong, that they sometimes use the phone instead.
Common scams that use the Microsoft name
- "You have won the Microsoft Lottery"
- Microsoft "requires credit card information to validate your copy of Windows.
- Microsoft sends unsolicited e-mail with attached security updates
- A person of "Microsoft Support" calls to fix your computer
Avoid these dangerous hoaxes
We do not send unsolicited e-mail or make unsolicited telephone calls asking for personal information or financial or repair your computer.
If you receive an unsolicited e-mail or phone call which is supposed to be from Microsoft, and request that you send personal information or click on the links, delete the email or hang up the phone .
You did not win the "Microsoft Lottery".
Microsoft customers are often the target of a scam that uses e-mail messages falsely promising money. Victims receive messages saying: 'You have won the Microsoft Lottery!' There is no Microsoft Lottery. Delete the message.
If you have lost money to this scam, report it . You can also send the police report to Microsoft and we will use it to help law enforcement catch criminals who send these e-mails.
For more information, see Microsoft report fraud Lottery . To protect yourself against these e-mail hoaxes, you can use the same general orientation you use to protect yourself from phishing scams to protect you from these e-mail hoaxes.
Microsoft do not ask for credit card information to validate your copy of Windows
We require that your copy of Windows is legitimate before you can obtain programs from the Microsoft Download Center and to receive software updates from Microsoft Update . Our online process that performs this validation is called the Genuine Advantage Program. at no time during the validation process we request your credit card information.
In fact, we collect any information that can be used to identify you, such as your name, e-mail address or other personal information.
For more information, read the Microsoft Genuine Advantage Privacy . To learn more about the program in general, see genuine Microsoft software .
Microsoft sends no communication unsolicited on security updates
When we publish information about a security software update or security incident, send us e-mail messages only to subscribers of our security communications program.
Unfortunately, Cybercriminals have benefited from this program. They sent fake security messages that appear to come from Microsoft. Some messages to attract the recipients to Web sites to download spyware or other malicious software. Others include an attachment that contains a virus . Delete the message. Do not open the attachment.
Legitimate security communications from Microsoft
- Legitimate communications do not include software updates as attachments. We never attach software updates to our security communications. On the contrary, we refer customers to our Web site for more information on the update or the software security incident.
- Legitimate communications are also on our websites. If we provide information about a security update, you can also find this information on our Web sites.
