Camera on MacBook Pro design flaw

I was wondering if anyone else has noticed this. The placement of the camera is just where most of the people open the lids of their units. So it becomes strongly footprints in this place. Acid in printing seems to damage the screen in this area over time, causing the camera to be blurred and very bad quality image. It seems to remove a coating that is located on the glass and replace it with a smear looking substance. I know at least two other people who have noticed this problem. Checked with someone at my local Apple Store and they said they find that it becomes a common complaint/problem. The only cure is to have the screen replaced which costs near where more than the unit is worth. Two solutions (interview), I was told was to clean the filter with a cleaner suitable whenever a fingerprint is noticed or always open the cover from the side (if you remember to do this every time)! Maybe Apple should seriously consider moving the camera to a location that would be less likely to get damaged or screens with a coating (or without one) that is impervious to damage caused by the acids present in most of the prints.

Hello, I just downloaded (purchased about 2009) CS4 on macbook pro (2015) with the retina display.  Perhaps because CS4 is old, when I ope PDF using acrobat pro that came with CS4, PDF content looks blurry (the same PDF document opened by a snippet that came with macbook pro shows very strong police force).  Do you know what I can do about it?

Also, do you know if I can improve more current CS4 CS5 or CS6?  How to upgrade my CS4 is?

    Thank you

CS4 is old enough that I don't think that there is nothing you can do to improve the display

CS5 is no longer marketed, and CS6 no longer upgrade pricing

In fact, as much as I know, same-CS6 won't do well on a modern screen 'high resolution '.

find it hard to imagine that Apple could sell these defective products.

If the seller is an authorized Apple reseller, an independent company,

You may need to ask you if you could see & try a different product sample

because you might be looking at something that has a defect.

{According to the related help page, Type position should be more

    stable to use. However if the keyboard is not flat, this sounds like default.}

Sounds as if you're not at the official Apple Store (apple retailer)

  • MacBook Pro retina - need help with design school go

    Hi all

I am an avid user of PC and will soon move to a Macbook Pro of the retina for the school of design in the fall and wanted to get feedback. My main field of activity will be UI/UX Design using programs such as the sketch, Photoshop, Fireworks, Illustrator, and other.

I plan to buy refurbished Apple live. I'm set to zero 15.4 models "with the retina (2012-2014) or a newer model (2013 +) 13.3" with the retina and I wanted to ask you some questions in addition to get reactions.

1 are these year ranges range/model enough to manage the CC from Adobe and other design software?

2 is the a better buy overall or just for the fact of a larger screen 15.4 "?

3.I am looking for models with 16 GB of memory in the 15 ", but it is enough to 8 GB?

    4. What about the graphics card options? I see a spectacular advantage of the graphics card dedicated in models 15 "? (GT 650 M/GT750M)

I have worked on towers before Mac in the previous design of the course, but have always had custom built PC or Windows based computer laptop while at home. These university-level courses are demanding a Macbook Pro with the Retina display and since this will be my first purchase of Macbook Pro, I just want to be sure before you spend that amount of money.

Comments, inputs or recommendations would be greatly appreciated

    Thank you!

Remember that you can not RAM through new laptops.  Download now (and Apple prices) what you think, as you need for as long as you want to use this computer more what she always going to be able to sell - when you decide to change.  I see several posts where people say run El Capitan comfortably, you are better with 8GB and is here and now, not 4 years on the road.  My inclination would be to go for 16 GB with all applications you mention.

Officially, Apple does not repair equipment plus 5 years. This gives you an idea on their take on older hardware. You mention a 2012 model.  Next year Apple will consider that the way some people watch a 20 year old car. Now I'm a big fan of older hardware, but it takes a patient person who doesn't mind being late.  Maybe it's you but if not then I would not watch something more 2 years, especially if you look at some impecunious student years.

  • MacBook Pro FaceTime camera does not.

    Good day to all.

First of all, I want to wish everyone a Happy Easter!

I am having trouble with my FaceTime on my Macbook Pro retina camera (end of 2013). I have never use the camera for nothing because I use FaceTime on my iPad and iPhone, but when I open the camera and tried to use it, the green light flashes and is not solid. And photos on Photo Booth look like this:

And of course, which should not happen. It is also better to say I got my screen repaired by Apple now for more than a year (24/03/15) where my anti anti-glare came out. I never tried my FaceTime camera since that because, as I say, I do not use.

Y at - it all sorts of things to try to make it work? I tried to put on with the MagSafe in and holding D at the same time and that has not worked. Of course, I don't want to pay £282 for a new retina display just for a camera, I do not use. But also its obviously better to have everything working as it should in the first place.

Thanks for reading and any suggestions are welcome.

    Thank you

    Mitch

On your screenshot, yours is most likely a hardware problem.  Contact Apple or one of the Apple-Authorized Service Provider to have your Mac professionally repaired.  When the repairs are finished, this time, ask the Apple tech to show you that the camera works before paying for the work and take the Mac home.

Don't forget to back up your Mac and Deauthorize iTunes before the call for tenders for the service.

xGrimzz wrote:... Y at - it all sorts of things to try to make it work?

I would be surprised if your problem is correctable user because there is no serviceable parts by the user of the equipment.  However, if you wish, you can try these three additional things before seeking professional help:

    (1) If your Mac restart does not solve the problem,

    (2) use http://support.apple.com/kb/HT2090 from Apple.

(BTW - troubleshooting section called an "iSight" camera.  However, after that article was published, Apple has changed the name of the built-in camera on the recent "iSight" Macs "FaceTime", then "FaceTime HD."  Whatever the name of your built-in camera, the same info and troubleshooting applies.)

Be sure to test several Apple app (photo booth, FaceTime, iMovie, QuickTime Player, etc.) in more than one user account.  Do NOT use the 'Guest' for this test account.  If you don't have more than one user account for testing, create one now.  If you need help, how is explained in http://support.apple.com/en-us/HT201754.

A 'Standard' user account is all you need for the tests.

    (3) If your camera will work correctly even with Apple applications, use OS X Recovery to completely reinstall your Mac OS since system recovery stored on your startup disk.  Don't bother test Skype or other 3rd party apps until you have your camera works with applications Apple.

xGrimzz wrote:... I don't want to pay £282 for a new retina screen just for a camera I use... suggestions... Welcome.

If you use not the camera, and if you experience any other problems with your Mac, it is certainly your option to use the Mac without repair.

If you want to be able to use a webcam without spending the money for a whole new view, a compatible external webcam Mac might be a cheaper solution.  Be aware, however, that it is possible that the problem of your Mac can also prevent an external camera work.  Therefore, you might want to take your Mac with you and shop on-site.  Ask the retailer to let you try any webcam of interest to see if it will work with your MBP before buying.  If a known-working external cam will not work with your Mac, the material compensation is your only option to leave the uncorrected problem.

You've got to be kidding me! I have long accepted and adopted SONY like YOU leader in video technology and performance. I am totally frustrated that my video camera Sony HD 2010 only WILL NOT download on my new Macbook Pro - and he has NEVER downloaded on one of my Macs.

Frankly, I'm stunned. Am I just stupid, and there is a special setting is off or something? Please don't tell me that there is NO solution for download video from SONY on a Mac. I can't be the only person who filed this complaint before, am I?

Please let me know if Miss me just something easy or if there is some sort of vast and expensive hoops game to jump through so he could load. And, most importantly, please don't tell me I'm out of luck!

Thank you in advance for your help!

Thank you for your post and welcome to the forum.

As you have not provided a model number, I can only respond with generic information. You can use iMovie to import videos from the latest models of Sony HandyCam with a USB connection. The following article gives complete instructions on how to import from a Sony camcorder to a Mac with iMovie:

  • "no camera found" Powershot SX500 IS what is connected to my MacBook pro (Mountain Lion)

When I connect my new XS500 IS to my MacBook pro, Canon open Device box, then gave the message "no camera found." The camera works with my old MacBook (Snow Leopard) and my old Canon GS7 works perfectly with both computers. I just installed the software, do so the updates have been made. I removed the memory chip and installed in the Pro and the pictures downloaded correctly. Any suggestions?

Try this.  Connect your device to your computer and turn it on.  Then go to your applications list and open the Image Capture.  On the left side of your screen, you should see a list of all the devices you have connected to your Mac and your camera should be which are listed there.  Select your device from the list and from there you should be able to transfer images, etc, from your camera, although you may need to change the settings for the application.

  • Failure of Adobe Camera Raw 9.3 dmg for Sony RX1RII with MacBook Pro OSX El Capitan 10.11.5 [using the CS6]

While Adobe says his record the FIRST 9.3 update plug-in for Adobe Photoshop CS6 (Extended) strives to convert directly from the RXRII of Sony camera RAW files, is not. Maybe my MacBook Pro OSX El Capitan 10.11.5 exceeds the 10.11 noticed on the Adobe Camera Raw graph?

    Please notify.

CS6 can only be updated up to a maximum of ACR 9.1.1 to install cab 9.3 in CS6, attempts fail.  You can check which version you have by any plug-in / Camera Raw (I think on a Mac).

You can register CC (LR+PS@$120/yr=$10/mo is the least expensive) or use the DNG Converter to DNG for raw files and the DNG, but not the native raws, open in your older software.

  • CS5 Design Premium and recently bought a MacBook Pro with the retina display

I have CS5 Design Premium and recently bought a MacBook Pro with the retina display. everything seems pixelated. Question: if I buy a large external screen for use with the product Adobe will always look pixelated?

I can't answer that question, but I can say that CS5 is is no longer being updated for the new hardware and operating systems, so as far as I know, if you buy an external with the same kind of screen 'High definition' monitor you have now, you will have the same problem
