Can develop presets during import must be cancelled?

When I import my Nikon NEF raw files in Lightroom (3.4.1) and convert to DNG, what happens when I apply a develop preset on import? I see two possibilities:

  1. The raw file is read, the develop preset is applied, then the result is converted to DNG and stored.
  2. The raw file is read, converted to DNG and stored; Then, the develop preset is applied like any other changes, i.e. without changing the format DNG stored.

The visible result is the same, but the consequences are very different. If (1) is what is happening, I can never really return to the unprocessed, especially if my develop preset contains a few changes 'sunk '. If, however, (2) that happens, then I peut return to the picture not transformed after importation.

I hope I did my question clear enough.

I could test it, but I cannot test all possible parameters develop preset - that's why I decided to ask here.

Rotaluclac

Number 2 is correct.  Lightroom never touches your original file. You can go back to the Raw file without any preset applued by choosing Reset in the develop Module.  In history, the application of the screening to import is the first step, however.  Can´t you go before this step in history.

  • Develop preset on IMPORT prevents treatment 2010

I was surprised to find that if I IMPORT a few unpublished photos and apply a develop preset while doing so, they all upward with the! bottom right, saying "updating the process underway (2010)", implying that the treatment of 2010 was not used.

Admitedly, the develop preset I chose had been initially defined in LR2 and, Yes, it includes a sharpness setting. So I guess this behavior makes sense. However, it is not what I wanted.

In the hope of preventing this in the future, I applied the setting preset to an image, click on the! to update to 2010 and then right clicked the preset and says "scheduled update of current image". Know if it will work as a way to say LR3 that the preset is ok for use with 2010 treatment remains to be seen.

A "Preset" will not change the Version of process of an image unless there is something in the preset that is not compatible with the current Version of the image process, and perhaps this has happened in the situation of the OP.

The solution would be to go through each preset, apply it to an image, to restore the process Version 2010 if need be, and then re-record the preset, including process Version.

  • Not intentional develop Preset applied when importing - Lightroom CC (2015)

This week (April 25, 2015), I upgraded to LRCC (2015) 8.1 for Windows and Mac OSX Yosemite and today I imported 400 + RAW images, felled at a concert of music from last night in my Windows box. I do not use import Presets, preferring to the hand-to indicate the my options at the time of importation.

Today, I chose my usual Preset to develop... 'Profile goal, by default, that does what it says on the Tin - apply the default lens profile import. There nothing else... or so I thought.

After that importation, I noticed that images looked a bit "weird" and I checked the story... the default lens profile has shown in history (except an entry "Of Metadata" that I had not seen before, but suppose a reference using the keywords applied when importing). The 'strangeness' was in fact caused by one another develop preset called "Cave in rock" (a custom preset, I designed myself) and, if by chance or not, was be the first Preset in my list. Checking the settings to develop on the right panels, confirmed all the 400 + images had been imported with the cave in the rock applied.

I checked the history of a random selection of 12 images; all showed the parameters of development, such as applied, but none showed the name preset in the history panel. My custom "cave in rock" this DOES have the preset 'Goal profile, default' included in it, but maybe it's a coincidence.

I import RAW of Canon CR2 to a 5 d Mk III files, convert to DNG and build 1:1 previews. Adobe has changed the import process in LRCC.

I returned to import LR5.7 to try it, but it does the same thing now, which he has not really done it before! The Presets have been improved as part of the transition to the DRES?

    Everyone knows about this phenomenon?

the metadata entry I think that means that he support parameters of a metadata xmp file that is next to your raw files. There are everything in the folder you are importing from? If you shot raw + JPEG, the instructions may be in the JPEG file.

In any case it is easy to fix. Just select them in the library grid view and press reset. Reapply the correction of lens preset and sync.

IT is possible that you inadvertently set a default value for the camera.  You can try to reset those preferences-> presets if reset the images don't come back to where it should.

  • Import management develop presets for the different catalogs

When I opened the different catalogues, it seems that some import settings are specific to this catalogue and others are applicable on any catalogue. For example, the option copy or simply add an image is specific to the catalog, but preset to develop is always used for the last import, or none if it was the option chosen.

Is it possible to specify a different import develop preset on a basis by catalog? Also, is it possible to specify one develop different pre-set camera model (or maybe the other image attribute) in a catalog?

My current version is the last level of update CC.

    Thank you

    Mario

Many parameters "last use" tend to be one-by-system, not one-by-catalog.

While I use multiple catalogs, I never count on these parameters are correct. so I always check them on the assumption that they are bad for the current circumstance.

  • How can I remove invalid develop presets

    Hello.

I got Lightroom on my Mac for a while.  I went through periods where I use it, and then periods where I have not.  In one of these iterations, I had sort of a list of development presets that are not valid.

When I go to the section to develop, I have about a dozen predefined files.  In my directory [~/Library/Application Support/Lightroom/develop Presets], I just 4 files that I just created this morning for a new built-in, group that I just bought.  Unfortunately, other elements inside Lightroom are causing Lightroom to give an error "the file is not found" and won't let me open or close files, or remove those that do not exist.

How can I clean this list and get rid of the invalid elements?

In which case they are built-in, the list which is not in my Application Support directory are:

    Lightroom B & W filter Presets

    B & W Presets Lightroom

    Color of Lightroom Presets

    Effect of Lightroom Presets

    General of Lightroom Presets

    Lightroom Presets video

If I can back those who would be even better.

    Thanks in advance.

OK, I deleted my Lightroom settings and live again.

  • import and storage of the LR4 develop presets

I use iMac 27 ", 16 GB of ram and lion mountain, as well as LR4.2

I recently started using develop presets, being lazy has creeped out just up on me. I have 15 or 20 presets showing in my preset Panel. Most are old.

I find that the app; ication/support/adobe/lightroom, I have two folders. Called "develop presets" and the other called "user presets".  both contain folders of presets. some seem to be duplicates. total 2 records contain about twice as much as in built-in panels. many do not appear in my preset to develop Panel.

It should be? can I create subfolders under the USER PRESETS in the develop presets panels and move them to there?

It's already sounding more complicated than expected. I read help online again.

Thanks for your suggestions in this area.

Subfolders created under Presets user appear as folders on the same level as the user settings in the Panel of Lightroom Preset. You can create several predefined folders not inside user Presets user level.

  • Develop settings when importing RAW + jpeg

When you import my D700 NEF files, I apply the sharpening preset landscape and I'm happy with the results.  However on my Fuji X 20 I import RAW + jpeg rather than just RAW, in this situation if I use the landscape sharpening sharpening preset is applied for JPEG and RAW format, leading to the already sharp in-camera jpeg being much more sharp.  If on the other hand I have not to use any to develop pr - game no sharpening or noise reduction is applied to the jpeg format and a minimal amount applied to the file RAW, more or less what I want but I want the sharpening of landscape higher applied to RAW files.  Is - this here anyway to change pre-sets frame so that they have only applied to RAW files when importing RAW + jpeg pairs?

    Dave Rosser

In my view, the answer is no, you cannot apply a preset upon import, depending on the type of file.

What you can do is after import you, filter on the Type of file and place it in JPG format and apply another preset that changes the sharpening of the filtered set of files, then go back and disable the filter and works with both sets of images you want.

To filter by file Type, you must go to the library network, activate the filter with the backslash bar-key if necessary, then select metadata and change one of the columns existing filter to tell the Type of file or add a new column of file Type.

Once you have created and applied the filter, you can save it as a preset filter that can be applied by the predefined filter selector to the very good and just above the strip of thumbnails at the bottom, same mode develop.

You could do one for raw and jpg in case you want to swap between the two, and if you shoot jpg with more than one camera model, you can add the model of camera for the filter criteria.

It may sound crazy that I am answering my own post.  As he complains about MigrationBasis.  I tried to go to the config.xml file and changed

    Cluster-0

    unicast

    database

    TO

    Cluster-0

    unicast

    consensus

And at least I was able to restart Server Admin and go to the Server Admin page. The Cluster-> Configuration-> Migration is always on view from database as the basis for Migration.

  • Develop presets are missing in a bright room. Folder is empty?

I installed adobe photoschop lightroom cc 2015 but it didn't develop presets available. The folder is empty. C:\Users\Rieuwkje\AppData\Roaming\Adobe\Lightroom\Develop Presets\Lightroom-voorinstellingen

Where can I find these or download?

I replaced my catalog on another disk called D. But the folder at this location is also void D:\Rieuwkje\Pictures\Lightroom\Lightroom-instellingen\Develop Presets

You need to expand the Preset folder, please check the image below.

    Hi marinersr,

You don't mean that the import window is reduced?

You can develop that will bring to the top of all the options to import for you.

    Kind regards

  • Import and renamed photos during import in Photoshop elements 13

    Hello

I have a bunch of photos and photo on my computer folders, in bulk inside a folder "images". Many of them renamed by myself (by hand, with texts of ads..) before making the acquisition of PSE13.
I did the acquisition of PSE13 in order to restore order in all of this.
My question: is it possible to import all this mass of photos and during import, rename pictures with, instead the name: the shooting date and time (yyyy. Mr JJ HHhMMmSS)
I would also like to be able to put my old names of photos in the metadata in the "comments" box

You have an idea how I could do this? And if PSE13 is able to do this?...

Thanks in advance for your help,

    Good day!

What you want is available only if you are importing from a card reader, not your drive.

-You can rename the model YYYY MM DD or more personalized in the advanced import dialog box. Scroll down completely to access the models 'custom '.

-by default, the original name of the file is stored in the metadata (check that the box is checked).

-You can even import into a date-based folder tree (folders named YYYY MM DD).

So, you could fool the Organizer by copying your folders present on a large map and import from "camera or card reader.

Creation of a date based folder tree is possible at the same time. You can import in several batches if the card is not large enough.
