Machine boots first time every time now, so he must have had something to do with it.   Hi, I have a Dell Dimension 3000 that starts and runs for about three seconds, then dies.  At this point, you will need to cut the power, plug before you will get no response from the PC. I swapped the power supply and disconnected all drives, network card and memory.

  The four diagnostic lights turns on, a couple changes color, then turns off when the power dies.

  I think that it's probably the motherboard or something on the motherboard. is it possible to narrow the problem, so I can buy the right replacement the first half?

  Which is not always possible, unfortunately, while a person may make an informed diagnosis, sometimes, due to the complexity of the components, computer troubleshooting is diagnosis by substitution.

  The power button LED, green, solid orange, green, orange, flashing flashing or off?

  If you're comfortable working around computers, you can try the following:

  Note: The only 100% POWER supply test method, is to install a known working power.

  Unplug the power cord, hold the power button in for about 15-20 seconds, open the case, disconnect the power connector 20 pins on the motherboard and jumping the Green wire to one of the black wires, plug in the power cord and the power of the system, if the PSU, case fans and disk hard drive performance then the power supply can be good.

  Note: Do not remove the wires from the plug, use a small piece of wire or a paper clip as a rider.

  Extract supply and the system still does not work, yet once remove the power cord, hold button power in a few seconds to discharge residual power, reconnect the connector 20 pins on the motherboard.

  If there is no difference in the diagnostic lights, a "Beep" codes and/or the indication of the LED on the power button, it would seem that the motherboard is dead or maybe the processor.

  Note: The good news is, processors lack rarely, being the only method I know to check a processor, install a compatible work PC, or use a known job processing.

  I have a Dimension 3000.

  The two discs were going on me, so I bought two new.

  I installed the two made sure the riders were that they were supposed to be

  the dvd drive installed fine. The problem is that I installed the burner.

  It's a Pioneer DVR - 115D installed as secondary

  The pc shows, but the green light on the front of the burner continues to blink as if it were held (two times then pause) continuously.

  The tray has a mind of its own, whenever I restart my pc it opens.

  I called pioneer & the guy said that my motherboard BIOS needs to be updated, if that's what I did, updated AO1 to AO3 I think it was then I get this blue screen that says «machine check exception»

  Green led blinks always & it won't play anything. It shows that it is installed.

  I update my firmware too for this burner of 1.13 to 1.18.

  So I do not know where to go from here. If someone could help that would be great.

I started the process of rebuilding by the card bios menu (so at startup) and I wonder if the card will continue to do its job if I exit out of it and starts the operating system on the server?

  As the Dimension 4600 is obsolete for many years, I doubt there is very no new motherboards available, only the so-called "renovated" boards, which are 'pull system '.

• Question for Dell Dimension 3000 IDE connector

  I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, but please be patient with me. I have a loyal Dell Dimension 3000, 2 GB RAM, P4 processor, 1x250GB HDD burners 2xDVD-R, 1x3.5in floppy drive hard.

  My Question is how to be able to add a second HDD. I have no way to connect to one. The cable I have all what it connects to the current. There is no way with my current cable to connect a second HDD. I don't know what type of connector IDE cable I need or where to buy it, or if there is even an option to one.

  I have the tray and extra HDD ready and waiting but no way to connect. Any help is greatly appreciated.

  The dimension 3000 will support two hard drives, but you will need support for additional hard drive and one connector three IDE 18 "L, 80-wire cable in water data, which is connected to the primary IDE hard drive and motherboard J6J2 PRI IDE connector, see page 38

  Dimension 3000 second hard drive installation.

  There are no instructions for the installation of a second IDE/EIDE hard drive in dimension 3000, but as the Dimension 4600 has the same case and chassis, you can use the 4600 instructions for the physical installation, see page 18:

  Set the jumpers the second hard drive for "Cable Select" and connect it to the middle connector of the IDE data cable, which is attached to the main hard drive.

  So you're saying that you don't see any connection pool with the name ' ist/DB/SOADemoGnanam"under configuration--> outbound connections pools--> expand javax.resource.cci.ConnectionFactory DBAdapter deployment?

  You can check if you have a deployment plan for DBAdapter under the directory $MW_Home\Oracle_SOA1\soa\connectors\? If you see a plan here, so take a backup of it and remove the entry from pool of connection ' DB/ist/SOADemoGnanam' from there. Save it and try to transfer the DBAdapter.
