Hello

·         You have Windows XP Home Edition with SP1 or just Windows XP Home edition?

If you upgrade Windows XP Home to professional Windows, you shouldn't encounter any problems. You can find on the Microsoft Web site that describes what operating systems can be upgraded to Windows XP Professional while "keeping your existing programs and data settings", and a XP Home to Professional upgrade is one that is supported.

Note: Make sure that you back up all your important data before upgrading to Windows XP Professional.

Before upgrading to Windows XP Professional, I suggest you to uninstall all anti-virus software and firewall, but also to disconnect a hardware device as it might interfere with the installation of Windows XP Professional. Also, when you insert the XP Pro CD be sure to select the option to upgrade Windows rather than the New Installation option.

I want to move from 32-bit Vista Business Edition without wiping my whole system.

-Does not require a qualifying earlier version of Windows.
    -Expensive

    Upgrade version (detail):

  • Windows Vista Edition upgrade Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional

Hi!, I need help.  I tried to understand the upgrade from Windows Vista to Windows 7 but I have not been able to fully understand the various issues.  My dilemma is this. I have a House runing PC with Windows Vista Home Premium and I want to install a version of Windows 7 Professional.  The package I have indicates whether an upgrade, but when playing in the homepage of Microsofts, in my view, that I understand that to switch from Windows Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 Professional, I need to do a full install, not an upgrade.  Because my package bed upgrade, I don't know if it contains the program needed to make an installation full or not.  I don't want to start and install and find out in the middle that I don't have the good disk to complete the task.  Could someone who knows about it could give me the right path to follow. I will be very greatfull for any guidance. Thank you.

See this simplified table of upgrade: http://i.zdnet.com/blogs/windows-upgrade-chart-eb-remake-final3.png?tag=col1;post-1246

Vista Home Premium upgrade to Win7 professional will require one in Place (i.e., update Win7 Home Premium) and an Express Upgrade (from Win7 Home Premium to Win7 professional).

That said, Windows Update has nothing to do with the upgrade of Windows. • Can I get an extra anytime upgrade and also pay for a backup of the product upgrade DVD?

  • Can upgrade you to Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade (again) to Windows 8 Pro and Windows 8?

I have a laptop originally supplied with an edition of Windows 7 Home Premium OS.  Because of a software problem, I had to upgrade the operating system.

I bought a DVD of Windows 8 upgrade and did the upgrade.  The switch went a lot, only now, I have been informed that the specifications of the software is compatible on a 8 professional edition window.

Since I did the install of Windows 8, I can't return/refund this upgrade disc.  But I still need to go to a Windows 8 PRO.

Can I buy an ANOTHER (only now going to an ordinary Windows 8) upgrade and upgrade to Windows 8 PRO?  Microsoft will allow me to do?  My laptop is now considered a Windows 8 operating system or not?

Or I have to "reset" my laptop to Windows 7 Home Premium and proceed with the purchase of any upgrade to Windows 8 PRO?

Does anyone have a solution for me?

Why the specifications of the software is only compatible with Windows 8 Pro?

Windows 8 is similar to Windows 7 Home Premium. Both are editions of consumer.

You can also start the upgrade by following these steps:

  • Is there a way I can get even SP2 and SP3 for windows xp home edition to my pc that had been in storage since 2007?

I tried to go to windows update but redirected to micrsoft support page, which offers no SP2 and SP3 for windows XP Pro, and yet I don't have a network of computers running windows XP Pro download the SPs would be a disater as it is intended for more than one PC.

It does not give the notice to go to the windows update page, but I can't get there because I do not have windows XP SP 3 installed on my pc, and even if I have it on a disc I couldn't install it anyway because SP 2 is not installed on this pc.

So this pc seems to be thrown into a sort of limbo XP, does anyone know a way I can get these much needed without breaking service packs?
