Can I burn my videos to a blank dvd on Windows 8?

Windows 8 anything useful to have offer?  I am so angry after a month of trying to learn how to operate Windows 8, I am ready to join other seniors who do not want with computers!  I'm not this term pc savvy, but I did pretty well learn how to harness my latest 4 PCs over the years until this new with Windows 8.   I read on some of these questions and answers that there are no Windows Media Player provided on Windows 8, so I tried to download, but everything that I thought I was downloading... Norton said that it was not safe.

Windows 8 provides ANY program to burn CD/DVD?  I want to put the videos on my camera to a dvd, I downloaded.  Thank you in advance for any help you can give me.

First - get rid of Norton products.  There are solutions free antivirus that do as good, if not better, jobs.  If you do not feel protected by the free - there are a few 'cost' those too.

Windows 8 * is * come with Media Player.  It does not come with Media Center.  You can get Media Center if you want - at a price.  It allows to play DVDs.  Or you could install VLC (link here).

What do you think of the movie DVD?

Maybe people will stop depending on the operating system to provide an operating system was never really provide much (it is a platform for other tools - but its become a desert of applications that complicate the operation and the OS then gets the blame for everything.)

You could import the movie into Windows Movie Maker, use the 'split' option, split the video to 2 or more smaller movie files, then burn each smaller movie file to separate DVDs.

This would be my method. There may be a better way.

    John Healey

    Hey John,

GEAR licenses this is CD/DVD recording 'engine' for Apple computers for use in iTunes for Windows. This recording 'engine' is the code of the software which adds disk recording cababilities to their product.

If you encounter registration problems, they can be linked to drivers GEAR being damaged or improperly installed. You can download the latest drivers of VEHICLES or better yet, make sure they are installed correctly. The following control for Windows x 86 guide/list will help you determine if they are installed correctly. In the first test, make sure that C:\windows\system32\gearaspi.dll is in the Windows\System32 directory. Simply copy and paste the driver in the Windows\system32 directory.

To check that all drivers of GEARAspi is installed correctly please check the following points:

On 32-bit systems, make sure that:

    * C:\windows\system32\gearaspi.dll is located in the Windows\System32 directory
    * GearAspiWDM.sys is located in the Windows\System32\Drivers directory

On 64 - bit systems, verify that:

    * C:\windows\system32\gearaspi.dll (32-bit version) is in the Window\SysWOW64 directory
    * GEARAspi64.dll (64-bit version) is located in the Windows\System32 directory
    * GearAspiWDM.sys (64-bit version) is located in the Windows\System32\Drivers directory

    Next:

In the Device Manager (Manager button on the Hardware tab in the Start Menu |) Settings | Control Panel | System) double click on DVD/CD-ROM drive drives entry. Double click on one of the listed CD/DVD recorders and go to the tab drivers press the Details of drivers and make sure GEARAspiWDM.sys is listed in the driver files and the digital signer is Microsoft Windows hardware compatibility. On the Details tab, select the upper filters of class of the pull down and make sure that GEARAspiWDM is listed.

In system information (type msinfo32.exe in Start Menu |) Run...) Verify that there is an entry called gearaspiwdm in software environment. System drivers. The status of the driver should be OK, and it should be started.

  • DVD writer does not recognize 'NEW' blank DVD - r (Windows XP)

    Hello

I have a question that has been annoying me a lot during the last few weeks, as follows...

I have a Dell Optiplex GX620 computer is running Windows XP service pack 3, it has a cd/DVD burner in this model (HL-DT-ST DVD +-RW GWA4164B), I used to be able to burn CDs and DVDs fine, so please respond with lol 'maybe your drive doesn't burn DVDs' as you can see in the model # it's a DVD +-RW drive.

But my problem is the following... for some reason the DVD burner does not detect the 'NEW' blank DVD - R, there is no problem of detection of blank CD - R disc and I can burn fine on the CD - R. But for some reason it does not detect blank DVD?

When I put one in the drive, I don't get the popup asking what I want to do etc, or to go to WORKSTATION and look a the drive it shows no media present.

I have Nero Platinum 15 installed in my burning software, which has a function of DISK INFORMATION, which also shows that 'no disk in drive '.

    I have re installed Nero...

I uninstalled the drive and re installed

Re, I installed the latest drivers for Dell Optiplex

I bought a second axis of new blank DVDs

I took out what I left little hair!

  • Try burning your own movies on a DVD with Windows Media Player... Help, please

I created a video in movie maker.  He recorded as a MP4 video that is 4.25 GB. The film is less than 30 minutes.  I'm trying to burn to a DVD + R that says it holds 8.5 GB / 240 minutes using Windows Media Player.  It is said that my file is too large to fit on the disk.  I don't understand why.  Help, please.

I have seen other issues similar to mine where people suggested other software download burning DVDs.  If that's what I do, I'll do it.  However, I also know WHY the windows media player tells me that my file is too large because when I look at the numbers, it seems that it is NOT.  It seems that windows media player should be able to accomplish this simple task that I have to look for other software to download and learn.

    Thanks again!

Windows Media Player can only burn files to DVD as data disc burning, the disc is not compatible with the DVD player. You can consult this guide, this is how burn mp4 movie to DVD, hope this helps you.
