Can I connect a MacBook OSX 10.4.11 running for my HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium?

How? Where can I find the correct driver? Is there a place to find solutions of workaround, if they cannot be connected?

Unfortunately, the driver for 10.5 is the oldest available. My suggestion would be to upgrade your MAC for at least OSX 10.5 or try to use another computer to the printer with the interface. Workarounds with the drivers, especially when it comes to new drivers being installed on older machines, may be very risky at best, because they determine how the product communicates with your computer. If this communication is not clear and interferes with other processes it can lead to unexpected problems arise.

I can't get the award-winning Officejet Pro 8600 to scan one side of a document of legal size of ATF.  I use Panel of the printer to scan to computer and save to the PDF format.  I select original: two-sided in the Panel.  The printer will scan only on one side and an error message appears saying that the tray supports that double-sided scanning for certain sizes of paper.

    Thank you for your message.

  • HP Officejet Pro 8600 Premium ceased to connect to the server to download applications

After working perfectly for a few months, my printer is now "impossible to connect to the server" when I ask a crossword every day.  The printer receives and displays messages to my address eprint, and seems to work in all other means except Webscan.  I had to do a restore disc condition as supplied and a full restore of a backup complete recently, but downloading applications worked fine after that.  I have re-installed the software of the printer and all the cheques I seems good.  Any tips on what I should check or do?

Same problem here. I have managed to disable the app function in the settings of the printer, but cannot access the settings of the application. Can we assume that this gadget is no longer supported by HP? It would be quite OK (noone really need), but then it should be an update of the firmware with the menu point deleted.

    @jerryq

I could solve the problem by selecting "Delete of Web Services" in the printer.  This erases all your settings in hpconnected.com, so you will have to set up the printer again.  A bit tedious, but mine works again!

When you select this option (located by touching the icon top left of the page 'Web Services' above 'Copy', then the 'Settings' button down), it resets the printer and display a new sheet "printer installation Instructions Important".  Take this sheet, because there the "request Code", you will need to add the printer to your existing hpconnected.com account!

Log on to your account to hpconnected, and then press the devices tab.  Click on the button 'add a device '.  Enter the code to request the instruction sheet, and you should show active again.  The claim code is also the new email address for the printer, you can now change what anyone available.  Unfortunately, the e-mail address you were using previously is now unavailable, but you can simply add a single digit to make it familiar - i.e. "[email protected]" can be "[email protected]".

Back in the printer and press the icon "Applications".  If all goes well, the apps should load up.  With mine, I had to turn off the power, unplug for 30 seconds, then turn it back on.  Tapping the Apps icon then (finally!) connected to the servers and all the applications reappeared!

  • Can you simultaneously connect Officejet Pro 8600 wired or wireless?

I currently have an Officejet Pro 8600 printer and it worked flawlessly when connected wireless over the last few months until yesterday, when all of a sudden could not be connected to my office.  (Note: my wife's cell phone still print on it without problem).  I'm going down in support information in an attempt to return to its former State, running via the wireless, but I was wondering if this printer can be connected both cables (on the desktop) AND wireless (for laptop) at the same time?  If so, how is this dual connection method performed?  Thank you.

  • OfficeJet Pro 8600 - Macbook Pro and Macbook Air does not print

    Products:

    • HP Officejet Pro 8600
    • MacBook Pro (Mac OS X, Version 10.7.5)
    • MacBook Air (OS X, Version 10.8.2)

    Question:

    • Why my Mac initially print fine, but now will not print?

    Full article:

I have a wireless network in my house that consisted of a 30 MB cable internet, Netgear 900n, HP Officejet Pro 8600, 2 laptops from Dell with Windows 7, a laptop Lenovo with Windows 7 and Dell with Windows 7 trick, all printed matter very well.

The HP Officejet 8600 was added to my network about 2 months ago.

I added a Macbook Pro and Macbook Air about 3 weeks ago.  The two Macs printed fine for about a week.  Then suddenly they stop.  I spent about 2 hours on the phone with HP's Service, and finally, they said to my router.  So I called Netgear.  NETGEAR was useless!  They wanted me to accept fees for services before they would even discuss the issue.

As a result of information provided by the HP support service, and because Netgear will not support their product, I quickly bought a new router - an Apple Airport Extreme.

Macs will recognize the printer will print if connected via a USB cable, but do not print wirelessly on the Officejet Pro 8600.  The fine impression CPA.

The frustration that is felt is made up by the fact that Macs printed very well with the Officejet Pro 8600 2 weeks and now the printer shows just "idle"... even with a new router. (see image below)

Please help, thank you very much for all support.

As a side note, the representative of the HP Service was very friendly and definitely tried to support the HP product, which is much more I can say about Netgear.

    Thank you

    Hello

More likely a problem with Multicast, which Apple devices are relies on to communicate with the device through the network.

First try unplugging the router for 30 seconds.

Connect to the power supply and wait 2-3 minutes.

Turn off the HP printer and turn it back on, then check all difference.

If it persists, try to change the configuration of your router as follows

Note: the settings below are not related with the HP product, I provide you with the steps as a best efforts and those based only on my own knowledge. You can try to change the settings of the router at your own risk:

    1. Open the router configuration page (you'll find listed as the default gateway by clicking the icon on the printer wireless, then print a network configuration report.
    2. Click the Advanced tab.
    3. Click the configuration option in the menu, and then click Setup WAN.
    4. Be sure to uncheck the box Disable IGMP proxy transmission and apply the changes.
    5. Click on the LAN configuration on the same Setup menu.
    6. Set the RIP RIP-2 Version and apply the changes.
    7. Restart your router and then check any change.

I hope that you will find useful information, you can also use the guide to the user below for more information:

Hi @Benking116 and welcome to the Forums of HP

I'm sorry to hear you had problems of scanning your Officejet 8600 to your Mac in OS X 10.10, but I'm absolutely going to do my best to help!

If you open HP Scan on the computer, you are able to scan from there without problem (please refer to this document scan from OS X with HP full software functionality to see how to open the HP scanning software)? If so, I think you just have to activate the scanning to computer in the HP software. Please take a look at this Re: definition of Scan post and he will inform where to go in the HP utility choose Activate Scan to computer. After that is done, are you able to the printer to the computer?

If you are UNABLE to analyze through the HP scanning software, the issue could be just communication itself. In this case, try the steps in this document to the printer is not maintaining the wireless connection .

  • HP officejet pro 8600 - cannot print from my macbook pro

We just bought a new HP officejet pro 8600 but for some reason, we cannot get my macbook pro to print on it. My mac says it is connected to it. It is listed in the printer only and all the settings look fine, but when I send a document to the printer, it will not be printed. He did print the first day we had (a week ago) but it stopped and we cannot figure out what to do. My daughter's PC will be printed, as well as the pc of my husband. It is the first time that I had problems printing to a hp from my mac. Any thoughts?

I had my Officejet Pro 8600 about six months.  Recently, I had the same problem.  It continues to print from my Windows computers but not the Mac.   Labour goes into the impression that it is place on a wedge.  I tried many fixes, including the removal of the printer and reinstall.  Usually removing and reinstalling it will fix for a while, but now, even that does not work.  In my view, that the permanent solution is to buy another printer.

If you have noticed that the port is causing problems, please download and run the print and Scan doctor, it will be probably diagnose and fix the problem you are experiencing.

What were the results when you ran the Print and Scan Doctor? (she print or scan, error messages)

HP has several Officejet Pro 8600 series.

What is the name and the product number of your printer? How can I find my model number or product number?

    • Update the firmware of the printer.
    • Don't hide the SSID (network name).
    • What type of encryption are you helping? HP recommends WPA and WPA2.
    • You have a double router broadband? Make sure that the two groups were not the same network name.

If the problem persists, you may encounter an IP address conflict. It's a good idea to assign the printer a static IP address outside your DHCP range. For example, some routers default DHCP is located between 192.168.0.100 to 192.168.0.200. So, I would use 192.168.0.232.

To assign the static IP address, use the following steps as a guide.

    • Print a Page of Network Configuration menu of the printer front panel. Note the IP printer. IPV4 address
    • Type the IP address in the browser to bring up the SAP.
    • Choose the network tab, then wireless on the left side, and then select the IPv4 tab.
    • Select Manual IP.
    • Enter your IP address manual (192.168.0.232)
    • Enter 255.255.255.0 for the subnet mask, except if it is different.
    • Enter the IP address of your router that sits on the Network Configuration Page) for the default gateway.
    • Please, click on manual DNS server. For the preferred DNS Server Manual please enter 8.8.8.8 and the Alternate DNS Server Manual, please enter 8.8.4.4.
    • Click on apply.
    • Restart the router, the printer and the computer.
    • Test printing and scanning.

If the problem persists, download and run this patch rollup: resolving printing issues in Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2

    • Try printing and scanning.

In addition, if you are still having problems try the steps in this guide, HP printers - "offline" Status Message printer (Windows 7).

Continue on, if the problem persists.
