Can I connect to a computer virtual host using ESXi machine?

Hallo,

I am wanting to host multiple virtual web servers on a single physical server, but I do not have access to all physical clients.

I want to be able to connect to one of my virtual servers from the physical server.

Is this possible? If so, what configuration/products do I need?

I'm not that ESXi can do.

TIA,

Frink

Hi Frink,

Welcome to the forums.

There is no real operating system you can use in an ESX / ESXi server. If you won't be able to connect to your Web servers from inside the host.

A solution could be to create a "client" VM with everything you need to connect to other servers.

Another way is to use other VMware solutions such as server or workstation that you install on the top a real OS, Windows or Linux.

It will be useful.

Concerning

  • I can't connect to the computer by using the password.

    Original title: windows 7 locked out after several incorrect attempts

    I can't connect to my computer toshiba satellite laptop after that my friend unsucessfully tried to guess my password. Now my password is not recognized and I couldn't connect to my own laptop... I have Windows 7 Home premium. I don't have a recovery disk or something like that. Help, please

    Thanks for the reply! The message I see is: "the user name or password is incorrect."

    I don't think that my password has been changed. I say this because I was the only person who knew the password. Thanks again for your help!

    If Windows says your password is incorrect, then your password is incorrect. Otherwise, he would say "locked." Here's how to get out of your situation. In light of your statement "I have a recovery disk or something like that." , you must pay close attention to step 8 unless you like taking big risks.

    1. Set your BIOS so that it uses the DVD drive as its primary boot device.
    2. Start the computer with your Windows 7 repair CD.
    3. Press a key when prompted to boot from the DVD.
    4. Select 'PC Repair' in the menu.
    5. Select 'Repair' when prompted.
    6. When you are prompted, select System Restore.
    7. Configure Windows to a point before your problems began.
    8. Plan ahead a little and create, test and document an alternative admin account, same as you have a spare emergency House key. This will save you a lot of trouble.
    If you do not have a CD to repair Windows (which is also essential to solve the problems of Windows as a pneumatic Jack is to change a tyre) then here are your options:
    • Burn it on another computer. It takes only three minutes!
    • Borrow one from a friend.
    • Purchase one here: http://systemdiscs.com/

    Based on this, your printer is not ready to network, it uses the USB port so adding component (wired or wireless) network may cost more to buy a new printer. A cheaper option is to purchase a wireless as one of theseprint server.

  • Unable to connect to the computer virtual in Virtual Center

    I have 4 ESX host in my VC, all of them under a single cluster, after we have change our front door, I give account that I can't connect to all virtual machines Console, so if I highlight the virtual machine and click Console I got this massage, "impossible to connect to the host X.X.X.X". : a connection attempt failed because the connected party responded properly after a while or connection faild, etc... »

    So I change all the bridges of you to every host ESX, we have to point to the new access point, and now I can connect to the virtual machines for 3 guests, the 4th host always has the same problem although I change the door of entry, but still cannot connect to all virtual machines on it. If I Vmotion all VM in this host to another host, I can connect to the vm console, I have also to restart these services

    service mgmt-vmware restart

    service vmware-vpxa restart

    restarting the service vmware-vmkauthd

    Any idea?

    903 port must be open from VC to the ESX host. Or add the following to/etc/vmware/config

  • How can I connect to the computer without the icon?

    Original title: Inadverdently deleted the icon for the administrator who has passed, can recover us it and password?

    Mother-in-law belonging to this computer and we do not have access to administrator... we may have found the password but have removed the icon and cannot locate the account to connect?  Is there hope for us?

    Once connected to your computer, bring up a command prompt window...
    Start-> Run-> "cmd".
    and enter the command:
    net localgroup administrators
    This will give you a list of users of your system with administrator privileges.  Once you know the user name, restart your machine or logoff to access your logon screen.  Then press Ctrl-Alt-Del twice to bring up a classic logon window.  Enter the administrator user name, then the password.  If everything is copacetic, it will record you as an administrator.

  • I can't connect to my computer

    whenever I try to connect to my computer with my password it freezes on loading

    Follow these steps to try to solve your problems of boot.

    Restore point:

    http://www.howtogeek.com/HOWTO/Windows-Vista/using-Windows-Vista-system-restore/

    Do Safe Mode system restore, if it is impossible to do in Normal Mode.

    Try typing F8 at startup and in the list of Boot selections, select Mode safe using ARROW top to go there > and then press ENTER.

    Try a restore of the system once, to choose a Restore Point prior to your problem...

    Click Start > programs > Accessories > system tools > system restore > choose another time > next > etc.

    http://www.windowsvistauserguide.com/system_restore.htm

    Read the above for a very good graph shows how backward more than 5 days in the System Restore Points by checking the correct box.

    ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
    If the system or Mode restore safe work not and you do not have a Microsoft Vista DVD, make a repair disc to do a Startup Repair:
    Download the ISO on the link provided and make a record of repair time it starts.
    Go to your Bios/Setup, or the Boot Menu at startup and change the Boot order to make the DVD/CD drive 1st in the boot order, then reboot with the disk in the drive.
    At the startup/power on you should see at the bottom of the screen either F2 or DELETE, go to Setup/Bios or F12 for the Boot Menu.
    When you have changed that, insert the Bootable disk you did in the drive and reboot.
    Link above shows what the process looks like and a manual, it load the repair options.
    NeoSmart containing the content of the Windows Vista DVD 'Recovery Centre', as we refer to him. It cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows Vista, and is just a Windows PE interface to recovering your PC. Technically, we could re-create this installation with downloadable media media freely from Microsoft (namely the Microsoft WAIK, several gigabyte download); but it is pretty darn decent of Microsoft to present Windows users who might not be able to create such a thing on their own.
    Read all the info on the website on how to create and use:
    It's a very good Vista startup repair disk.
    You can do a system restart tool, system, etc it restore.
    It is NOT a disc of resettlement.
  • the user name and password are incompatible. I can't connect to the computer
    I was told that I need to reset the computer to factory settings.  Is that correct, and if so, how do I that?
    If not, can you tell me how to do this if I can get my computer back operational.  Thank you
    Hello
    You can try the following.
    Shut down the PC.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select Safe mode and press ENTER.  If windows will load in this mode, on the Start Menu, click principally made programs, click Accessories, click System Tools and run the system restore.  Choose a restore point at least 24 hours prior to the issue of logon and then proceed to the restoration.  When you are finished, Windows will restart as normal in order to check if you can now connect correctly.
    Another option if the above does not help is as follows.
    Shut down the laptop.  Tap away at f8 that you start the PC to enter the Windows Recovery Console.  Use the arrow keys to select "Start using last good known Configuration" and press ENTER.
    If niether of these suggestions help, can you post back with what follows.
    1. the complete model number and your PC Nr - see here for more information on the search for that.
    2. the full version of the operating system you use (IE Windows 7 32 bit).
    Kind regards
  • My logon user profile not working after a windows update, I can't connect to my computer.
    Last week I got an automatic update of windows on my computer (17 new). After that, I couldn't connect to my computer again. Loading the windows page, it shows two users icons profiles that were created and when I click on the profile of each user, it seems to start to run a function, but it does nothing. It just goes back to the same screen over and over again. I don't give myself the chance to write a password. I tried f8 system restore and system repaired without success. I have also run the comand line regedit and realized that the two user profiles are missing from here: [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\CurrentVersion\ProfileList, what can I do now?
