Wow.  All uppercase.

I don't know whether or not your purchase is never legitimate.  I do not remember there ever legitimate to a method of download Windows XP beyond some subscription services offer from Microsoft (such as MSDN, TechNet, etc.)

If you do not have the Windows XP installation media, you will find it.  You might be able to use this:

  • How to reinstall Windows 8 with the upgrade product key

I bought a Windows 7 laptop and then bought the upgrade of Windows 8. on the online store of Windows. The hard drive of the laptop has been altered somehow and both the partition of Windows 8 and Windows 7 recovery partition no longer works.

When I try to create a USB Windows 8 key install it does not accept the product key that I paid for. I can't reinstall Windows 7, so how can I reinstall Windows 8 on the laptop.

    Hello

Try saving it in a an ISO Image... You can then put it on a flash or DVD later...

Make sure that you try to download Win 8 and not earn 8.1...

You will always have problems well... even if you manage to get the picture, it will take an existing operating system on the machine.

You may have to buy Win 7 media the manufacturer of machines, if they are still available...

The price is usually quite reasonable, less with most manufacturers charge about US $20

  • How can I reinstall Windows 8 on an OEM laptop when I don't have the product key?

I bought an Asus x401a laptop for my daughter as a Christmas gift. It comes preinstalled with Windows 8. Yesterday, the unit closed at key and we had to make a hard stop. On reboot, Windows will not start and instead came up with a screen that informed it was an automatic repair. This obviously didn't want to; the unit restarted and launched the auto repair, which once again. The third box... I had a few options: I could update the installation or reset it. There were several recorded files (we only had a few weeks), so I chose Reset, which if I understand correctly, it would clear everything and start over. After a while, another screen informed me that Windows could not reset the computer, who took over the entire process to the wire.

I ran across this process several times, each time with the same result. I do not think that anything is actually wrong with the material (such as menus and other seem to work correctly; I think it's maybe just a corrupted file system) and I'd like to do a reinstall of the operating system, as it came from the factory. This is where I ran into my problem:

    • I can't download the Microsoft operating system legitimately, without providing the product key in the download tool
    • The product key is apparently built into the BIOS and not print anywhere, so I can't find my existing key without some sort of tool
    • Various tools are available to 'sniff' the product key from the BIOS, but because Windows is not running, I can't use them

So my question is: exactly what should be my next step? ASUS would have a copy of the key related to my serial number, etc.. ? Should I install an old copy of Windows 7 just so that I can run a utility to get the key from the BIOS, or who will replace the number by something else? Or is there perhaps some way I can get the key of product directly from you?

I like to keep Windows 8, as my daughter has already learned the interface, but at this point, it looks like this may be impossible by design.

    Hello

Thanks for posting your question in the Microsoft Community forums.

I understand that you reinstall Windows 8 in the OEM specifications.

As it is the OEM of Windows 8 version, the system manufacturer will have more details in this regard. I suggest you contact the manufacturer of the system.

  • Wiping Hard Drive, Reinstalled with Windows 7 with upgrade disk product key error

My computer has been acting upward, so I back up hard drive and erased the hard drive with the BACK CLEAN ALL command. I then reinstalled windows 7 from my Windows 7 Upgrade disk and restore my files on hard disk. The computer works fantastic and returned half of the memory of the hard drive. A few days later, I get a message on the screen that I have 30 days left until I can produce a product key from the original Windows installation, does not accept the upgrade product key.

I tried the product key located on the bottom of my laptop for Windows Vista comes with the HP computer. It does not work and it gave me no disk backup for Windows Vista from HP.

I called Microsoft and they told me to contact HP for the product key. I see on this forum that someone else has written a similar plea, because it is a plea, and HP said to contact Microsoft. In other words, Microsoft says to contact HP and HP says to contact Microsoft.

I use Microsoft since Windows 3.2 operating systems and have bought a lot of products of them. It's my 3rd HP laptop, my wife is on her 2nd HP laptop. Well you know what? If I don't get this resolved quickly by one of your companies, and I'm not remember Microsoft, I'm through the two of you.

I don't see where Microsoft is not being fooled off but when it's to the detriment of a loyal customer, so don't worry. HP is also responsible for this. An upgraded version of Windows 7 (to upgrade from Vista or XP) should be smart enough (and I thought it was) to remember that I had the original version and its product key should be enough. Also I don't never told me that I had to keep the old product keys, and it doesn't matter anyway because the product key is always available in my laptop HP, but it does not work.

I'm not buying another HP without your help and actually buying an Apple Mac for my wife and my next computer if it is not resolved. I think that HP is probably as bad as Microsoft so that it will not be solved and I'm not shelling out more money for something I already own.

  • Download Windows XP OS. I need the installation disc. Have the product key number but no disc

I checked on the Microsoft website in the world, it seems that Microsoft has decided to abandon its customers on their own once they declare an "obsolete" product (they need to sell newer versions) So stop the previous support helps to encourage (force) people to migrate to Windows 7

Now more to the point does anyone know how to be a person who has lost the original installation CD, but still holds a legitimate property right with a number of product key of Windows XP to download a copy of the operating system must be able to move back into the original computer?

    I'd appreciate knowledgeable answers.

    Thank you kindly

The key you press on varies considerably according to the computer on which model Dell you have.  Some models do not have this option.  Now, your next logical step would be to download the manual of your Dell computer, that will give you specific instructions for your model on how to reinstall the operating system.

    Go to <> http://www.dell.com >
On the homepage at the bottom under "Support", click on the link "drivers and downloads".
Then click on the link "Support for Home Users" on the next page.
You will be asked to identify your computer model.
After that, click on "Manuals" in the left border, and follow the instructions to download the manual for your computer.  These manuals contain instructions that you need to reinstall Windows.

  • The Windows provided with my media product key is incorrect.

    PRODUCT KEY IS WRITTEN INCORRECTLY

I NEED TO KNOW THE KEY TO WRITING, BECAUSE I HAVE THE CD AND IT CAME WITA WRITTEN KEY

Real CD do NOT come with the key either written or printed on them

You will need to purchase a legal copy (if you can find a more - MS stopped selling XP well more than a year)

If your current installation is activated and working, use a tool of Keyfinder as Belarc Advisor to get the key to exit, and then write it down somewhere course.

  • Where can I download Windows 7 ISO?

Downloadable ISO file of Windows 7?

A COMPUTER technician told me that I can download an ISO of Windows 7 Pro 64 bit DVD and burn my DVD using the product key that came with my computer (it is running Win 7 Pro 64). I want to try to repair Windows without having to use the RECOVERY of the DVD which means that I have to reinstall all my programs. Download the ISO file and if so, to what address? Thanx.

You can download the ISO recovery directly from Digital River, the complete installation discs.

    http://msft.digitalrivercontent.net/Win/X17-24280.ISO (32 bit)

    http://MSFT.digitalrivercontent.NET/win/X17-24281.ISO (64-bit)

Then you can write the ISO to a disk by using the Windows USB/DVD download tool

    http://download.CNET.com/Windows-7-USB-DVD-download-tool/3000-18513_4-10972600.html

You must have a genuine product key, and you will need to activate the software. Without the license, you can use it as a trial for 30 days.
