Can I install 64-bit Windows7 on a Satellite P200/S04?

I guess the question arises - this model supports 64-bit software? Someone at - it care to make recommendations regarding 32 vs 64 bit Windows 7?

Thank you
DLW

Hi DLW,

Theoretically you can install everything on your laptop ;)

You should check the Toshiba page where is your laptop. Take a look at drivers and downloads for this if you can get all the drivers for Windows 7 64 bit. Otherwise you will have to collect all the drivers yourself

The important difference between 32 and 64-bit only, is that 4 GB or more RAM can be used only on 64-bit.

    Hello

Maybe you don't see the second HARD drive connectors because the phone does not support the 2nd HARD drive?
Not all laptops even if the 2nd HARD drive Bay is available, support two hard drives.
Laptops come with different hardware and different motherboards, but with the same coverage
So the bays for HARD drives are available, but the motherboard does not support the 2nd HARD drive interface.

  • Can I install a 2nd HDD in my Satellite P200 - 10 c?

    Hello

I have a Satellite P200 - 10 c that I want to spend with a 2nd HARD drive. I called a Toshiba representative who told me that my model does not support another HARD disk. But then again, why she has a place at the back of the laptop for a 2nd one?

Could someone tell me if it can be used to host a 2nd HARD drive.

    Thanks in advance

    Hello

What say if they said you model laptop does not support the second HDD while you can not improve with second HARD drive.
The user manual which can be downloaded from the Toshiba page says that this option is only available on several models of the p200 series. But it seems that your notebook does not support!

  • Can I install 32-bit windows 8 on 64-bit Windows 7 home pre. Herbert

Can I install 32-bit windows 8 on Windows 7 64 bit home premiun

    Hi Nathan,

    Welcome to the Microsoft community.

According to the description, it looks like you want to install Windows 8 32 on a 64-bit computer.

Yes, but you can do this using Upgrade Wizard. If your PC has a 64-bit compatible processor (CPU), but is running a 32-bit version of Windows, you can install a 64-bit version of Windows 8 Pro, but you will need to buy it on DVD and perform a custom installation. It is available in your country or region, you can buy Windows 8 Pro at a participating retail store. You can also buy online at the Microsoft Store in Austria, Belgium, Canada, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Japan, Netherlands, Spain, Switzerland, United Kingdom and United States.

Please note that the Windows 8 Pro Pack is used for the upgrade of Windows 8, Windows 8 Pro and is not for the installation of multiple architectures and doesn't include any media. If you want to change the architectures, buy Windows 8 Pro.

You will not be able to keep all the files, settings, or the apps when you upgrade a 32-bit to a 64-bit version.

  • Can I install 64-bit on a 32-bit windows?

My PC running the 32-bit version or 64-bit Windows?

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/find-out-32-or-64-bit

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/installing-and-reinstalling-Windows-7

Windows 7 64 bit comes in handy when you need to deal with at least 4 GB of RAM or more. Windows 7 32 bit can use up to 3.2 GB of RAM. Because the address space of memory is much larger for 64-bit Windows, this means that you need two times more memory than the 32-bit Windows to accomplish some of the same task, but you are able to do much more, you can have more apps open, do things like run a virus scan in the background it will affect the performance of your system.

64-bit Windows 7 is safer too, malicious code cannot easily infiltrate it, drivers are more reliable because they must be signed before it can work with 64 bit Windows 7.

Regarding compatibility, you need device drivers 64-bit hardware devices, you may have. In addition, there is no 16-bit subsystem in Windows 7 64-bit, which means, your applications must be 32-bit only, not 16-bit Installer or programs uninstaller. Also, if you decide to switch to Windows 7 64 bit in the future, there is no way to upgrade from 32-bit Windows, clean install only.

  • Can I install 64-bit OS on Satellite A200?

Can I install an OS 64-bit on Satellite A200 equipped a intel t2350 proccessor?

Of course, you can install the OS on 64-bit Toshiba laptops, but the question is whether you will get well 64-bit compatible drivers, I think if you install the 64-bit OS, you must run the notebook without the drivers and tools Toshiba because the 64-bit drivers are not available on the pages of Toshiba

In this case, you need to find compatible drivers chip manufacturing sites!

  • I can't install 64-bit Windows Vista with the help of an old license of a dead computer?

Old license Windows Vista on the new computer

I have a Windows Vista Ultimate license that came with my 32-bit laptop and I have a new 64 bit laptop. Can I install Windows Vista 64-bit using the old license? I already threw the old laptop, and so I won't use the license in addition to a laptop computer.

You can tranfer commercial versions, but not the OEM versions. An OEM version is only intended to be used on the computer that it is installed first. It is likely that the old license is an OEM version.

  • Can not install 64-bit ESX4.1.0 reviews

I have installed VM workstation on my windows 7 pro 64-bit system with ram to 8 GB with an Intel Core 2 cpu 6300 1.86 GHz.

I then install the ESX4.1.0 construction 348481 inside the virtual machine workstation. Then, I go to my other system and connect with vSphere.

I have the attached host. I then try install a guest windows xp pro 64 bit on this host and get the following message.

msg.cpuid.noLongmodeQuestionFmt: this virtual machine is configured for 64-bit operating systems. However, the 64-bit mode is not possible.

This host does not support VT

    Continue without 64 bit support?

Why this happens upward when the system is 64 bit, and I have no problem if I install the host of Type 1 (on the hardware itself), then I can run and install 64 bit comments without any problem.

It's in my lab because I'm studying for VCP and I try laboratories as the laboratory of CBT nuggets.

    Any suggestion on this issue.

    Thank you

VT is not passed through a system of comments, so you can run nested 64 bit guests on the virtualized ESX(I) hosts.

  • Can I install em12c in windows7 to access the linux 11gr2db?

    Friends,

main operating system: win7 64 bit

I installed 11 GR 2 db in the bone oel5.5. and im having 2 bow TIE and 2 node dataguard.
I want to access the db all 4 in one console.
so can I install the 12 c company Manager in my windows 7 (windows version)?
am I need to install agents in the entire area of linux (it will be linux version)?
or I have to install 12 c and the agent of linux in the entire area of linux version?

y at - it any other regarding software I have to install to manage several databases of several linux operating systems in my windows operating system 7?

    Thank you

    It is very well possible.

The basic idea behind OEM must manage and maintain heterogeneous targets.

You can install and configure OEM in any machine (Windows, in your case) and can install agents and monitor targets to another machine (Linux).

FYI: I have a setup in my lab with 12 c OEM running on RHEL and monitor targets in AIX, Solaris, HP with RHEL.

BTW, if you think that your question is answered, please mark 'responded' as it saves the time of other guys who sail through the forums to find solutions to the issues "no answers".

  • I can't install Vista x 64 Bios on Satellite A200

Months ago that I posted that I have intalled Vista x 64 home premiun on my Satellite A200 and I can't install Vista 64-bit bios.
But today, after trying to install new Vista 2.50 x 64 Vios and have the same problem using Toshiba Recovery CD.
I need to install Vista 32 bit and I can Flash the new 2.50 Bios in Vista 32.

So I think that my CD rom is ok and I think I have not install Vista x 64 Bios because have not all drivers.

    Whats is your opinion?

    Hello

I found your other thread regarding the update of the BIOS in Vista 64-bit:
    http://forums.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/forums/message.jspa?MessageID=123211#123211

It seems that something was\is with your ROM BIOS module and it was therefore not possible to update the BIOS on the A200.
You case that neither BIOS 32 bits or 64-bit BIOS update is possible

So, my recommendation is. Contact the ASP in your country for a control.
Don t be angry with me, but I don't see other reasons why you are not able to update the BIOS

    Good luck

  • Can I install Ubuntu in the U940-sp4103gl Satellite SSD?

Please help me as soon as possible.
    Here are my questions:
Can I install ubuntu in the ssd from Toshiba u940-sp4103gl?

    How to do this?

It's urgent, I will appreciate any help. Thanks in advance.

I put t see no reason why you shouldn't be able to install Linux.
You would need to make some change in the BIOS of the U940 satellite.
    (1) disable secure boot
    (2) pass the CSM UEFI

Now all that, you should be able to boot from the disk or USB memory stick.

    Hello

First of all, you knew that this laptop was designed for the U.S. market and all the drivers, tools or any other Toshiba utility should be used on the Toshiba site we.
    http://www.CSD.Toshiba.com/cgi-bin/TAIS/Su/su_sc_home.jsp

Please make sure that you have already installed Toshiba ACPI common Modules before as you continue to any other Toshiba Software installation.

An important tip; the Toshiba power saver profile must be selected in the Windows power options! Don t forget!
