Can I install a Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 in my HP laptop?

Hi I was wondering if I could install a new graphics card in my HP laptop? My laptop is a HP 15-d051sa 15.6 "so you can search to the top on Google.

My specs:

RAM: 8 GB

HARD DRIVE: 1 TB

Processor: Intel (r) Pentium (r) CPU N3510 2 GHz (cache 2 MB)

Graphics card: Intel HD Graphics

I think they have all the features that I need to talk to you guys to help me.

-Zack thanks.

No, it can't be done. The video system is part of the motherboard and cannot be changed. Even if you have to change for the best HP 15 motherboard it has much less powerful than the 660 GTX graphics and motherboard Exchange would cost as much as the laptop did initially.

  • Alienware M17X R4 - Nvidia Geforce GTX 660 M is dead

I was playing a game and poof... the computer off.  I rebooted and I was 800 x 600.  The computer works fine now, but it does not recognize my Nvidia GeForce GTX 660 M.  So I think he's dead.

I tried everything (drivers, BIOS, troubleshooting, waiting to see if she magically came back).  Nothing has worked.

I need to buy a replacement, but online is incomplete and a computer guy said only he could do was to China and would take at least two weeks.

    Reference Dell sells this replacement?

For the record, the system is out of warranty.

This is a good opportunity to upgrade you GPU at a GTX680 or if your confident enough to small drivers mods then a GTX780.

Dell will tell you the GTX780 is 'not validated for this system.

Their significance is they have refused to release the machine and identification of GPU NVIDIA and AMD codes so when the pilot checks "compatible devices" are back with a negative.

Easily fixed by modding the display driver to include your machine and GPU identification codes.

  • Video driver update for NVidia GeForce GTX 660 M on Alienware M17x R4

I am owner of Alienware M17x R4 with GeForce 660 M graphics. The latest drivers for my system currently 307.17 on the Support of Dell Web site version. Recently I met some graphical problems during the game and the people from the Steam forums advised me to update my video drivers.

So the question is: can I use the video drivers supplied by NVidia on their Web site? Are there disadvantages using these?

    Thank you!

    Hello!

We recommend that you use the drivers from the Dell Support Web site, but if you want to upgrade to the latest NVIDIA driver I suggest you only do a fresh install of the driver as explained here.

If you continue to experience problems during the game, try the troubleshooting steps in this article.

I opened my computer case and I can't find the two connectors 6-pin which requires that the video card.  What should I do?

You will need to purchase a new power supply as the Corsair CX500 which has the 2 PCIe power connectors on it. Alternatively, you may be able to find an adapter that changes to a PCIe molex connector, but it is not really recommended.

  • X 51 - R1, to upgrade to Nvidia GeForce GTX 645

I have the X 51 - R1, with processor i3-3220 @3. 30 GHz processor.  I'm interested in upgrading my video card and was looking for recommendations, at the price of decently. I'm not a big player (Minecraft, WoW) but I do a lot of HD video streaming.  I'm also under double-screens because I work from home. Any suggestion would be great.

    Thanks for your time.

You have the R1. The R2 does not comes with the i3-3220. You may not use any video card that uses more on our 330w power 150w. The video card must not be greater than 9.5 "x 4.3". I can't recommend the Dell OEM = video cards

  • NVIDIA Geforce GTX 770 on a Dell Inspiron years 620

    Hello everyone,

I have a Dell Inspiron of the 620 years and my question is this: can I put a Nvidia Geforce GTX 770 in my PC?

    Thank you.

You had already posted the R9 280 X and I said that these cards full size do not fit in the 620 years.  The best card you can get for this system is the low profile Sapphire HD 7750 shown here if you can still find available.  If you are looking for a high-end gaming card, you will need to buy a new computer, because high-end gaming cards simply do not match your case.  If you want cards like the GTX 770 or R9 280 X, I suggest you build your own computer.

  • NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 470 PhysX years CS5

    Hello world

    A quick question...

Fact Engine reading Mercury of Adobe CS5 only works with NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 470 CUDA™ or it can also work with NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 470 PhysX®?

PS please tell me it works very well with both!

    Thanx

PhysX and 3D stereovision, aspects of many cards nVidia, generally available in console driver setting and are used in gamining and possibly in 3D applications. Going back a few years and also versions of Adobe programs, nVidia has chosen to have these two WE by default with the installation of several drivers. These functions caused problems with several Adobe programs, and the "fix" was to go to the console and turn them off the COAST, when you work with these programs Adobe. They could then be turned back ON, when you've been playing, or by using a 3D application. After about 2 versions of the nVidia drivers, the company has decided to assign the default OFF, but they can still be turned on, when required.

I would leave PhysX and 3D stereovision (name of it might have changed?) OFF, when you work with Adobe programs, but it never hurts to test.

    Good luck

  • How many monitors can NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 745 4 GB DDR3 support?

Can anyone provide me with information on montors how this video card can support at the same time?

    NVIDIA® GeForce® GTX 745 4 GB of DDR3 memory

Three, but it depends on what you are doing.

If you think of the game with three monitors you dislike the refresh rate

After Effects uses your CPU and RAM mostly, not the GPU.

You only need NVIDIA CUDA for one function: acceleration of 3D compositions plotted in the Department. Your most recent Maxwell NVIDIA GPU does not contain the necessary OptiX library for this function so ever, it won't work to accelerate traced to the radius of the 3D compositions. I'm sorry.

The After Effects team no longer works on this feature, and suggests to use Cinema 4 d Lite (supplied) for your work in 3D instead. There are also some great third-party options to add 3D elements in After Effects as Invigorator Pro compositions and video Copilot 3D element.

    Hope that things cleared up.

    Thank you

  • Alienware 17 (the one that costs $2048) comes with an Amd Radeon, but is it possible that I can get a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880 M graphics with 8 GB total GDDR5 on this subject?

Alienware 17 (the one that costs $2048) comes with an Amd Radeon, but is it possible that I can get a NVIDIA GeForce GTX 880 M graphics with 8 GB total GDDR5 on this topic on the official site? Or automatically made it that the $ 3198 costs one?

As the video card is not configurable, you need top line model for the nVidia card.

Even if you do not find the card separately, it is pretty close to the best that you can get these days - and portable at the tip cards can easily cost $ 1 000-1 500 just by themselves, so you would not probably save at the same time.

  • HP Pavilion p6-2102ed: MSI GeForce GTX 660 on my HP Pavilion p6-2102ed work?

    Hi all

    I have a HP Pavilion p6-2102ed with H-CUPERTINO2-H61-uA TX motherboard (Cupertino2).
I would like to enhance it with a MSI GeForce GTX 660.
Is the big question now: they both will work together?

I already read something on the power supply. The video card requires a six-pin plug connected to a power supply, which is not the p6-2102ed.
1: how to solve this? Do I have to buy an external power supply? If so, of what powersupply do you recommend? Or can I buy a cable (with six pins) and connect it to the power supply built in the p6-2102ed?

2: I read the MSI GeForce GTX 660 measure 260 mm long. According to me, it will fit in the case. So it will not be the problem I think.

3: the Bios will accept the new video card? Or what I need to adjust some settings in the Bios?

Here are all the questions that I can think of right now.
Please correct me if I wrote something wrong, and if you know the most important information, please tell me!

    Thank you for helping me.

    Hello

The NVIDIA GTX 660 should work in your PC if it has not been flashed with a UEFI BIOS update. You will need to check with MSI on this situation.  I have an EVGA GTX 660 and I did the flash of UEFI to my graphics card.  Find out what the return policy is before you buy.

The CX600 Corsair or CS650m would be an excellent choice for a diet.

    -------------------------------------

BTW - The NVIDIA GTX 660 is a map of excellent graphics for HP PC that do not run a 8 BIOS version.
