  • How can I install El Capitan on several computers at the same time?

I live in Spain, where I have a few computers to service. The internet lines here are slow and unstable, so it is difficult to get all of the updates in without entering the trail other activities.

I wonder if it is possible to download El Capitan on a single computer and then distribute to others, after which I can update at the same time am.

    Would this be possible?

According to the license agreement, the license of the OS is for you only, but you can install on any computer YOU own and control. So if download you it and then reject the Setup program before you start, you can find it in your Applications folder from where you can copy it somewhere safe to use on another computer that you own.

Because the download is linked to your Apple ID, use it on another computer does not work as it should download it using their own Apple ID or they will never be able to reinstall or update that the used ID does not correspond to their.

And, since you said you 'service' of computers, you will need to look at another type of license - you will need to contact Apple. The retail license is nothing for you.

  • How can I install El Capitan now that Sierra is available?

I'm not ready for Sierra. I would like to improve my iMac to Yosemite to El Capitan, but appears not to be averrable in the App Store?

How can I legally and officially download and upgrade to El Capitan?

    Thanks in advance.

For the history of the free OS from Apple, once a new one is released, others disappear. You must download an Installer before the release of the new operating system.

However, it may still be available: If your Mac is not Compatible with Sierra, but you have not improved in El Capitan

As this points to a link in the iTunes Store, it is maybe not correct for all the places in the world. You may need to change the URL to find the one specific to your country, if not the United States.

  • Why I can't install El Capitan now that Sierra was released?

I am running 10.8.5 on an iMac of mid-2011.  I really don't want to upgrade to Sierra on an old machine and may have a lot of problems on a first version, while I was looking to upgrade to El Capitan.  Why Apple removed this option?

Apple removes older versions from the Mac App Store, once a new has been released.

If you do not at any time to download El Capitan, then there is no way to do it now.

If you have downloaded it at any time, it can be obtained from the purchase of the Mac App Store section.

At this point, no major problems have been reported with Sierra however.

  • I can't install El Capitan, even if my computer has the requirements of law

    Hi guys,.

We recently bought a second hand apple machine itself. All good, but I have problems during the software update latest El Capitan, I need to install external software.

I see that all of the requirements, but I feel like I'm right on something really obvious.

    My laptop:

    MacBook Air (mid-2012)

    4 GB memory

    Software OS X 10.8.5

    12.7 GB of free storage

    Requirements on the Web site:

MacBook Air (late 2008 or newer)

    min. 2 GB memory

    OS X 10.6.8 (or newer)

free storage of 8.8 GM min.

Coming to app store/download page via the "software update" button under the symbol apple in the header.

It downloads and then I get the message "El Capitan is currently not supported. THX."when I try to install.

    Thank you in advance!

What, exactly, have you downloaded? Is this a app install OS X El Capitan 6.2 GB which is located in your Applications folder? Is it still there? Try the following:

    HD recovery start

Restart the computer and after the chime hold the Command and R keys until the Menu Utility is displayed.

    Repair

When the Utility Menu appears, select disk utility and click on the continue button. Disk utility charges and select layouts withdrawal (usually Macintosh HD) the list entry side.  Click the first aid tab, and then click the repair disk button. If disk utility reports any errors that have been corrected, then again run repair disc until no errors are reported. If no errors are reported, click repair permissions . Wait for the process to finish, and then quit disk utility and re-enter the Utility Menu. Select restart from the Apple menu.

    Now, try Setup again.

I click on the Photo icon, but it does not open. I recently downloaded and installed El Capitan 10.11.5, and I wonder if it is slow things down.  My iMac has 2 GB of memory and 124,75 GB of free space. Picture worked fine, then I wonder what is happening. Can anyone help?

Yes, it's probably slow things down a GB of s2 on memory is the absolute minimum - you need to update your memory which is cheap and easy - a reasonable and a reliable source is Other World Computing- there are others including Apple

You do not set the language of what you download. Once the operating system is installed, the language is set in the system preferences.

MacBook Pro (retina, 15 inches, beginning 2013) El Capitan 10.11.3, Simple question here: I can't open FinalCut Express (4, I believe). The wheel turns for hours. How can I install/uninstall and will I lose all my old films (for the most part stored on external hard drives). Thanks for your suggestions.

You will not lose anything, but the app if you uninstall. If you decide to uninstall use this app to make sure that all the other files which depends on FCE are also deleted however I can't give you any assurance as to whether you will be able to reinstall so that it works correctly. It is a software that has not been supported for almost 5 years and there are conflicting reports as to its compatibility with OS X 10.11. Can't I test it myself.

Maybe someone else will chime in with their own experiences.

  • I installed El Capitan, applications keep crashing.  How can I fix?

I installed El Capitan and applications crash and some will not even open.  How can I fix?

Start by looking at roaringapps.com.  This Web site shows the applications that are compatible with different versions of OSX.  Some of your applications will not be managed (at least not yet) by model.  Remember that the application developer needs to update their product to the model, not the other way around.

It has been removed from disk utility. You can explore using the commands in Terminal. However, there is no real need to do if you have an encrypted drive. You have a reason to erase free space?

Yes, you should be able to select a destination drive during installation. Is that what you mean?
