Can I install Windows 2008 R2 Server on a PowerEdge 2850 Server?

I have a PowerEdge 2850 server, that when he was initially put in place (by someone else) had Windows 2003 R2 top.  However, when they put in place, the partitioned the C: drive with so little space that it is running out of space.  We got a newer Dell server and I turned that 2850 off the coast.  It was interrupted for a month or two.

But I would like to use it as a backup of database server.  Can I install Windows 2008 R2 Server on a PowerEdge 2850 Server?

You need to install RAID drivers during the installation of 2008R2.

  1. Configure and initialize the RAID in the CTRL-M utility.
  2. Download and extract the drivers put on USB (or CD).
  3. Start on media 2008R2.
  4. On the screen that asks you where you want to install Windows, click on load a driver link at the bottom left.
  5. Navigate to the location of the RAID drivers.
  6. Choose the drive to install, then install.

  • Manager Update 4 will not scan or clean up the Windows 2008 R2 server

I just install a Windows 2008 R2 server, and Update Manager will not analyze it.  It just says: "Failed to scan or clean up SERVERNAME because of operating system not supported or unknown.  I can scan and clean up my plain Windows 2008 servers very well.  R2 is still not supported?

I do not remember R2 being in the list of supported operating systems, I believe that this is also the case for the 4.0u1 VUM or VUM 4.0u1.1

You'll probably want to make sure that the release notes, but if the error message says that it is not taken in charge, probably only is not supported.

According to the article, we need to install the KB update, then we need to change the values of registry keys to disable the RC4.

However, I could not find the download for the Windows 2008 SP2 server file in the download link

    https://support.Microsoft.com/en-us/KB/2868725

Any suggestion how to disable the RC4 in Windows 2008 SP2.

After a fresh install with XP Home EWdition, Service pack 1, 2.0, and 3.0, I can't install Windows Update or IE8. Update back me to http://support.microsoft.com/kb/2497281

You may be unable to access the site Web Windows Update in Windows XP, Windows 2000, or Windows Server 2003 if these versions of Windows are not updated with the latest Service Pack

But I have service Pack 3.  IE8 fails, install a convenience store, but after following the instructions there is no difference.

I am at a loss for the next steps...

There was problems with the server for updates for a few weeks now...

Many people say that download and run the Update Agent stand-alone file solves this problem:

For later use, it is not necessary to use all the steps you mentioned. You can upgrade directly from SP1a to SP3.

  • Windows 2008 R2 server slow printing

We have about 5-6 servers Windows 2008 R2 in our virtual machine environment.  All of these servers are servers very low utilization, and they all work very well.  We have a few domain controllers, a SQL box and a few boxes of web application that is running IIS.  One of these domain controllers is a print server.  The print server works well, but it is very slow.  If you right-click on any printer that is added to any of the customers and go to properties, where the server is the management of print server, the client must wait 30 seconds or more for the upcoming dialog with the properties.  You can click between tabs, but the legs are also slow to react.

This means that if you make changes to the print job or the margins, for example, it may take a minute of waiting between screens.

Now, we had a physical Windows 2000 print server that has worked well until we got the VM environment, so I know the problem is in one of a few different areas.

    1. it could be the VM environment.

    2. it may be Windows 2008 R2 server config or the server software itself.

3 might be x 64 bit cause a problem with 32-bit clients using the box.

I have excluded #3 by a 32 bit 2008 Server on the VM environment of loading, loading of print management and then by loading a single printer and share it.  The problem is still there on the current server.  My next step is to try Windows 2003 server in virtual machine environment, but before I do, I want to throw this question very curious to the VMWare community.  All I have to do before moving on to more drastic measures?  There must be something I can do to solve the problem.

Maybe it's the solution.  Will test:

  • 11.1.2.1 EMP can be installed on the same server where 9.3.1 is installed?

11.1.2.1 EMP can be installed on the same server where 9.3.1 is installed?

You will always use the 9.3.1 existing environment alongside 11.1.2.1? If Yes, according to 11.1.2.1 documentation, if you want to keep your previous version environment, you must install a
new machine and you need to replicate data. Previous installation may not work if it is installed on the same computer.

You install and configure the software version 11.1.2.1 in a new location and move applications and data to the new environment of deployment.

    (1) install the EPM system on a new machine or machines. You can reuse the data and the existing database, or replicate the database and data to a new machine.
If you migrate to a new machine, you must upgrade to a platform of the same type.

For example, if the previous version was on a Windows machine, you must upgrade to a Windows machine. If the previous version was on a Linux machine, you must upgrade one
    Linux machine.

    (2) install the EPM system on the machine or machines (Oracle recommends that you install in a new installation location). You can reuse the data and the existing database, or replicate the database and data to a new machine.

What is written on page 174 of the EPM 11.1.2.1 Setup Guide (http://docs.oracle.com/cd/E17236_01/epm.1112/epm_install_11121.pdf)

    I hope this helps.

  • Workstation HP Z240 Tower: can I install Windows 7 from scratch?

    Greetings!

The operating system on my computer is actually win 10 Pro demoted to Win 7 Pro. I want to know if I can install from scratch Windows 7 in my computer using the Windows 7 disc with the computer.

I was told, the operating system is Windows 10 but it uses an interface of Windows 7. I don't understand the need for this complication. If you can just install Windows 7, so why use an interface? Maybe this computer only works with Windows 10?

What are you trying to do, as you say that you are already using Windows 7?

I do not understand your question about "interface."

The GUI (graphical user Interface) for Windows 10 incorporates most of the features of the GUI for Windows 7 and also of the GUI Windows 8/8.1.

    See: http://www8.hp.com/ca/en/products/workstations/product-detail.html?oid=8354563#! = form tab

    Your computer was preinstalled with:

Windows 7 Professional 64 (available through 10 Pro 64 Windows downgrade rights)

and also comes with a license and support for Windows 10 Pro software.

My recommendation: given that Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 7 in January 2020 - a short period of absence - install Windows 10 to get security-updates for your computer now and after January 2020.

Suggestion: if you have a "spare" disk drive, disconnect your current hard drive, connect the 'spare' and try to use this support for Windows 7 to install Windows.  That should answer your question about "can I install...". ».

    Hello

Maybe you have an old version of your Windows XP operating system in the Microsoft Windows CD.
I guess you are not able to install the OS, because some updates and SP are missing on the CD.
You should try to include service packs of MS, and then install the operating system.

PS: I put t understand why you n t use the recovery CD. The installation is very simple and al Tosh drivers are pre-installed. OK, it s a Home version but there aren't huge differences of Pro
