Can I open a project first CS6 in CS5.5?

I work in Premiere CS6 and I need to transfer the project files for my partners machine and it works in CS5.5. His computer said that it is impossible to open because the project has been saved in a newer version. Is there a way to get around this? His computer has much more power that mine and we need to finish a project of heavy effects as soon as possible.

Any help out there? Thank you very much!

As far as I know, the answer is no... you can go from 5.5 to 6.0 well... but it's of no use to you anymore.

I'm sorry.

  • Why I can't open a project in CS6 I started on CC first trial version?

Recently, I added the trial version of Adobe Premiere CC to create videos for the company that I work. We then decided to buy CS6, that we were not in favour of the basic software is. However, the opening of CS6, I am unable to open the project I had worked on in the trial version of first CC. When I try to open it, first CS6 says that the "project appears to be damaged, and it cannot be opened." Any thoughts?

    Hi Dan,.

Premiere Pro doesn't support backward compatibility, cannot open project made in higher version in a weaker version of this application.

Workaround is that you can export an XML of the CC version and import that into CS6. This might work.

    Hi Gemma,

It seems that after reinstalling, Premiere Pro no has not been updated to the latest version. Check your application creative cloud for updates. If she says Premiere Pro is up to date, try to update Premiere Pro through help > updates... option in Premiere Pro.

  • I can't open my projects, I can't click on anything.

    Hey guys,.

I've been editing on Premiere Pro for a little over a year now, all I have is up-to-date. I've never had this problem before. I usually change on two continuous screens running on my laptop Acer Aspire V PC and a Dell monitor. I went to the House of the parents for the holiday and so had to bring my work with me (I have change the blocking for a music show shoots) and for some reason, I can't open my project on my laptop.

Whenever I try to open my project, nothing extraordinary appears, it lets me know it load media files, and then the window remains dark as if I ever whatever it is open to all. What's worse, is that at this time, if I try to click on anything, even the button leave, my computer makes a sound error. No prompt error or whatever it is and my computer don't even think the program is "(ne répond pas)". "

I updated the software also, it made me register again my files with "_1" after the names of files and I didn't know this is the solution. Came back to it the next day and the same problem occurred with the new file.

To make things even more strange, sometimes it opens if I hung it to a HDMI monitor randomly in the House of my parents!

    What should I do?

She may be looking for a hardware configuration that does not exist now, you can try to reset the preferences to the launch of the program.

Here's how (with thanks to Peru Bob)

To restore default preferences settings, hold down Alt (Windows) or Option (Mac OS) during the startup of the application. You can release the Alt or Option key pressed when the splash screen is displayed.

  • First crashes as soon as I open a project. CS6 and CC both

I have Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 and CC. They both worked for about a month, in the trial version and now they have all two no. I can open the first and it opens fine. I can see my recent projects to open a. When I open the project I have between 2 and 60 seconds until it stop. If I go in managing cloud settings in the lower left corner of the first CC, first remains open. But only until I close the settings window, and then it closes. I get almost no error code. At the opening it is sometimes said that reading of mercury was used the last time and does not work today because of material or something of the sort. CS6 gives me an error Workspace.cpp - 209 sometimes. I am on Windows 7, 8 GB ram, Intel Core i3-2100 CPU @3.10 GHz 3.10 GHz, NVIDIA GeForce 210 display adapter. Please help, I can't find anything on google.

PS. I bought today first Pro CC.

OK, so I finally called Adobe help line 800-833-6687 and talked to a guy there. He told me to rename the SLCache folder that is located in C:\Program Files (x 86) \Common Files\Adobe to oldSLCache. He also told me to rename the OOBE in C:\Users\{username}\AppData\Local\Adobe file in oldOOBE. I was unable to do so because of an error "the file is opened. Then he told me to rename the file SLStore in C:\ProgramData\Adobe in oldSLStore. After this he said to test Adobe first CC and I did. It actually WORKED! Thanks for trying to help, and as you can see I tried a solution anywhere in the internet, the Earth and the Moon without result; and this is the solution for me for all of you who have this problem. The guys at adobe said it was due to a sort of recording corrupt files.

  • Can't open files in CC CS6 or import

I know and understand that many NLE systems are not retro-compatible.

Compatible forward is another story in most cases.

I have and love Adobe Premiere CS6.  I had to reformat ther yesterday, went to Adobe Premiere Pro CS6 download and could not find it.

Adobe CC is blasted all over the Adobe site.

I decided to just do the monthly business and level because I want to just get back to work.

I can't open or any old project I import for CS6.

I tried to disable and reactiving as suggested.  I tried several disks and multiple projects.

It's very frustrating.  I'm losing time and money.

I would love to see a useful answer from Adobe.

I'm on 10.7.5 that my first CC is up-to-date.

    Help, please

  • Cannot open the project first exported from After Effects

I was working on something in After Effects, basically just audio and video clips. Editting really. I decided, would be faster in the first, so I exported to a project of creation of it.  When I try to load it in first I get an error "the project seems damaged, it cannot be opened.  Does anyone know if there is a way to solve this problem?

It does not cause a problem for me, and we have heard this on the forum that I can remember.

Try to create a new model in a new project. Add some video and audio. Who exports OK?

I don't want to be rude and in no case I want to be insulting, but I'd feel bad if I didn't, and it turns out to be the problem...

Since it is the symptom if you try to open a project created in Ae with Premiere Pro CS6 - Pr please check that you open the good Premiere Pro. I forget what icon which is timely and open CC I want to open CS6, although I never did the opposite error. Yet.

  • Open a project (first instance) of Premiere Elements in first Pro CC (full)

A Department in my company has recently started producing promotional videos, as they initially had no video editing software they tested several programs before finally settling for first Pro CC.

The question I have is that in the meantime the Department created a few projects in the Premiere Elements Trial Version and when they tried to open these projects in CC Pro Pr sections are missing (the transitions and overlays of text).

I read that the draft elements must be compatible with the CC Pro.

When I open the project I get the following message if poster before the project opens:

Can someone advise what to do to get the project in its entirety?

    ASHA

    ASHA,

What happens when you try to open the project? An accident? Or Premiere Elements is unresponsive? Did you reboot after installation? Can you check in Task Manager * if demand is still ongoing?

Task Manager: simultaneously press the keys Ctrl + SHIFT + ESC. Go to the Applications tab and check to see if Adobe first Elements.exe is still running. If it is still ongoing. Right-click on it and select "End process Tree", then try again to launch the project.

  • When I delete a file I can't open my project

Hello! I recently had a massive project, that I worked in first pro. Today, I was going to finish it, but I deleted a text file that has been used in the project. That said it was looking for the file. I clicked on cancel and everything went grey and frozen. I could not close the app, so I used the Task Manager. Now when I try to open the project, it's just a black screen for centuries.

Please help me, I really need to do this for a client.

This problem has been resolved. What I did was out off first with the Task Manager. I went to Documents > Adobe and I deleted the file first pro. I opened the first pro application and opened my old project, he asked me where to find the text file. Remember BACK to the TOP YOUR PROJECT BEFORE DELETING THE FIRST PRO FILE.

  • Can I open a project CC with CS5?

    Hello.

With the help of project manager, I collected and moved a project created with CC Pro Prem to another machine running CS5.

When I try to open the project on the machine of CS5, I get an error message saying the project appears to be damaged and cannot be opened.

The collected project can be opened with CC on the machine that created it, but no CS5 on this machine, is not a corruption of files during the move between machines.

Before that I spend too long trying to figure out what's going on, is there a simple reason: back-compatibility of the versions?

    Martyn

    Hi Martyn,

Project files are not backward compatible, mainly because of new features that make their way into each new version of Premiere Pro that are written in the project file. I don't remember when they made in the software (CS5 seems if long ago!), but the best would be to export an FCP XML file or a file AAF of CC. These options are available from the file > export menu.

You can export either an FCP XML as a set of the project or the selection of sequences; Export AAF is available on a per sequence, with editing being the active panel Panel basis. Note that these will preserve * most * of your sequence data, but some effects and features that are available that in later versions will not travel. And, there is also no guarantee that your project/sequence will be completely reconstructed as you had in CC, so proceed with caution. Move forward with versions isn't usually a problem, but if you intend on back and forth between these versions, it could do a little bit hairy.
