Can I process Excel BIFF5 files, or simply abandon Apache POI?

For the experienced:

I am totally new to processing the files using Java Microsoft Excel and embarks on Apache POI. Now it seems that I might be completely out of luck because of Excel files, I'm in the process.

Now looking back, I realize account I got what I got with Excel file (.xls file) was opened in Excel 2007 and clicked on the "Save" button. And it's all OK POI learning by the transformation of this file. Now, after all the work I've done with this file, I trashed it and got a copy of the original Excel file - as is, without first loading in Excel 2007 and recording - and run my java program on it. And I got the following error message speaks BIFF5 and BIFF8:

C:\Oracle\Middleware\jdk160_18\bin\javaw.exe-client - classpath
C:\apps11113\JavaExercise\. ADF; C:\apps11113\JavaExercise\Basic\classes; C:\java_lib\poi-3.7\poi-3.7-20101029.jar
-Djavax.NET.SSL.trustStore=C:\Oracle\Middleware\wlserver_10.3\server\lib\DemoTrust.jks learnjava. ExcelTest2
Exception in thread "main" org.apache.poi.hssf.OldExcelFormatException: the provided spreadsheet seems to be in Excel 5.0/7.0 format (BIFF5).
POI only supports the BIFF8 format (from versions of Excel 97/2000/XP/2003)

My program, when put into production, will run the schedule and unattended and will have to treat the file as it is. I'm out of luck and need to find some other APIs that support BIFF5? Is there some these APIs?

Thank you very much for help!

Where do you find excel files? Would it be possible to have the provider upgrade its machines to provide the latest files?

You can try the 'other' Java API Excel, JXL or whatever he called to see if she can manage obsolete formats.

    HI wjleshe,

I checked your account using the email address you use here in the forums, but I don't see any order history. May register with a different email address? Or you sign up via the player mobile app for iOS or Android? If you got your subscription via an in-app purchase, Adobe wouldn't have the time of your order. And, you should contact the app store, if there is a problem with your subscription.

  • How can I move the iTunes file that keeps track of plays on a new hard drive

I added an SSD for my MacBookPro and use it as a boot drive. I finally understood how to get the entire library of music to play without moving all the music for the SSD (not enough of space for everything), but I have lost all my game account.

There must be a file that lists all these information. Where could I find it? I tried to export the library but the iTunes on the new disc he did not recognize.

Thanks for any help you can provide.

    10.11.6, iTunes 12.3.4.1

The file is the iTunes Library.itl file. This file guard track of everything in iTunes. And I mean everything. What kind of music you have, what has been deleted, playlists, play counts, ratings, date added, files, but a group which is not a lot of information duplicated in the tags attached to the media.

It is quite difficult to judge where exactly you are in this process because you don't have not said us what you did exactly. It's easy to make a mess of a library in doing things without knowing exactly how iTunes really works rather than how we think it works. You can try to copy this file .itl on the original to the new one and maybe drive he always knows that the media files are the original disk, but I'm not positive.

Just to let you know, using a library distributed in this way can lead to complications on the road and requires that begin you now learn the details of the operation of iTunes if you can avoid the problems.

On the iTunes library files - https://support.apple.com/HT201610 - does not mention that a complete library of work also includes other files and also files in the iTunes folder.

  • "Failed to process the backup file" - bookmarks JSON file

I deleted my appdata files without thinking and then allowed my trash. When I opened firefox again all my favorites have disappeared. I used piriform recuva to find my deleted files and recover the backup JSON files 10 bookmark. When I try to restore my bookmarks, I get the message "failed to process the backup file". "Files are 95 KB in size, but when I open them with Notepad that they are empty, however, when you use the Restore tool, it is said ' elements of 480", which I assume is the amount of bookmarks, I had, which means that firefox can see data. The same happens for all ten backups that I recovered.

    Any help would be appreciated.

What is the name of this file?

Firefox can only look at the file name for the number of items.

    • < number > _ < hash > .json bookmark-YYYY-MM-JJ_

The files in the bookmarkbackups folder are currently in compressed format .jsonlz4 (i.e., they show data binary like a ZIP compressed archive) and cannot be easily unzipped for access the JSON text format.
The files are compressed means that a single error in the file will make it impossible to unpack the file.

Have you checked all the available JSON backup to see if everything works?

A backup created manually JSON is always not compressed, so can be easily inspected or opened in a text editor (Notepad > "Pretty Print"), but with a compressed file, it is much more difficult.

Recovery of a file via an undelete utility is no guarantee that the space occupied by the file has not been used by another file, and so is corrupt.

    Hi starr456,

This is something tricky, simply because the Starter is not available anywhere to download (it's the OPK only), and it is not available to resettle them in the HP Recovery Manager. After researching this for awhile, it seems to me that your only option to get Starter upward and the execution is to perform a recovery of the HP System. This restores all of the original software, including programs that are not available to resettle them in the Recovery Manager. He is also the 'nuclear option' and will completely erase everything on your computer. You will need to back up all personal files that you do not want to lose.

If you're desperate for Office Starter, you can use this recovery method. But if you're open to exploring other alternatives, you might want to try a freeware productivity suite (like OpenOffice, for example).

Here is a link to the instructions for performing a HP system recovery for Windows 7. If you have a different version of Windows, let me know and I'll post a different link.

    Hello

You don't say how you have reinstalled or how or where or by which program or process, you saved your data...

A relocation normally will wipe away the old operating system and all data during the resettlement process.

You can try this free program to see if it can recover your data:

    Hi samanthaswigert,

    Method 1:
run the fixit available in the links below and check if that makes a difference-Worth to try
Diagnose and repair Windows files and folders problems automatically

Note: FixIt would attempt to recover bad sectors on the hard disk, in the course of this process there are chances of DATA loss from that particular area.

Method 2: Start the computer in safe mode and then try to access the Folder. To do this, follow the steps below:

Access Advanced Startup menu options by turning on your computer and pressing the button F8 continuously until Windows starts. In the advanced startup options select Safe Mode

    Startup options (including safe mode)

Method 3: Run an online scan to remove any threat remains on the computer.
