Can I reformat a computer with vista media center edition on it and then perform a new installation of xp? I don't like vista and want to go back to xp.

Hello

If you have an XP disk and license, you can go back to XP

but make sure that the manufacturer of your computer has XP drivers available for this model computer

If you have not an XP license try to buy one at a computer repair shop

you boot from the XP disc and format in this way:

to boot from the dvd drive to be able to you will see a way to get into the bios Setup at the bottom of the screen or command menu start

It would be F2 or delete etc to enter the BIOS or F12 etc. for the start menu

Change boot order it do dvd drive 1st in the boot order

You are probably missing drivers for your PC hardware. Unless you have drivers on a CD, you have a situation of the chicken egg that you will only be able to overcome by downloading on another PC and save on a USB key (for example). Go to the website of the manufacturer of your PC, look for support/downloads for your model. Download and run to install in this order...

    • Chipset (inf)
    • Ethernet (after this you will probably have internet access)
    • Graphics
    • Others

If you have a driver CD, use the 'autoplay' that to install the drivers.

After this, refer to this topic...

.. .so how to get SP3 and beyond.

For more assistance, we will need the brand and model of your PC/motherboard.

    Hello

On this page of Toshiba, you will find drivers for different units.
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU

Win MCE drivers are not available for Satellite A100, only Win XP.
Jasmin said, you can try to use the Windows XP drivers as the Win MCE is a WinXP with additional features.

I AT & T U-Verse, and I am trying to download video clips at home in my online account so that I can display on the TV.  When I select the option on the TV using the remote control that would search my computer for the files, I get a message that I need to select sharing on Windows Media Player 11 before U-verse can download files.  I have Windows Media Player 10 on my math so I went online to download Windows Media Player 11.  During the download I get the message that I have Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005 version and I have Windows XP Media Center Edition version 2002 Service Pack 3.  What should I do to download Windows Media Player 11 with success?

Can I attach a printer wireless with XP Media Center Edition 2004?

    Hi DWGSMITH,

Yes, you can connect a printer wireless on XP Windows Media Center Edition 2004.

You can follow these steps to install the printer:

    (a) you can use the supplied with your printer installation CD to install the drivers for the printer on your computer software. Alternatively, you can download & install the software of the printer from the manufacturer's website.

    (b) connect the printer wireless on the computer. Make sure the printer is powered before you continue.

    (c) click Start menu > settings > Control Panel > printers and faxes.

    (d) click on "Add a printer" in the navigation bar on the left under "Print jobs." The "Add Printer Wizard" opens.

    (e) follow the wizard until you reach the page "Network or local printer" and choose "Local printer"... «or «Printer network...» "Choose the basis on the question of if the printer is connected directly on this computer or a print server or other computers on the network.

    (f) type the wireless network password, if prompted. The Printer Wizard can also ask to install drivers to print before the final connection is made. Click 'Yes' If you receive this prompt.

    (g) close the wizard when you get to "Finish."

  • Key export and Re - installing Windows Media Center Edition

My hp zd7269cl laptop comes with Windows Media Center Edition version 2002. Now these discs are long gone but I bought oem recovery disks but he said media center 2005. Will I have trouble validating my code the product key (on the bottom of my laptop) after a clean install on new hard drive, because they are records of 2005. Also the driver disks don't work with what is installed on my computer.

The key and the disc should work, but you may need to activate by phone. Regarding the drivers I check the web site of the support of the factory (for your make and model) and download in a folder or a flash drive and use them and not what the disk you have. Note: Install the driver chipset first, then the remiaing drivers, save the graphics driver for the end.

  • Pavilion new hard drive XP Media Center Edition 2005, won't boot from the system recovery disks

Hi, I'm trying to replace the hard drive in Pavilion a1620n a member of the family with XP Media Center Edition 2005 where the original Samsung SP2504C HDD failed.  I HAVE the original recovery discs 1 and 2 system and additional recovery disk supplied with the PC but the problem seems to be that I can't get the PC to boot from them to start the recovery process.  I installed a new Western Digital 500 GB HARD drive.  The BIOS recognizes it is installed (as well as the existing DVD - RW drive) and drive past the on-board CHIP support tests.  I tried using the Boot Menu ESC to select the DVD - RW Drive as the first Boot device, as well as the tab Boot Setup of BIOS F1 to set the 1st boot CD-ROM device group and other people with disabilities.  After reboot, the drive of DVD - RW turns on for about 2 seconds, then turns off and the display shows "DISK BOOT FAILURE", INSERT SYSTEM DISK AND press ENTER.  I thought maybe I needed a kind of bootable CD boot disk to format the drive first, so I tried a BACK 6.22 bootable CD and a bootable CD of MEMTEST, that work on the other PC, but I get the same message "DISK BOOT... "on this one.  My next idea would be to try to host the new drive on another PC and copy the files on it recovery disk... but is it really necessary?  If the own PC system recovery CD should not be able to... Recover?

It seems to me that the ligthscribe drive has a problem.  Replace the disk and it may be OK after that.  On a PC so old, it is probably an IDE drive, but check first.

  • How can I get Microsoft Train Simulator to work on my computer with Vista?

    Hello
I installed Train Simulator on my computer with Vista about two years ago and I was never able to make it work. The game installed on my computer, but whenever I click on it to play it will work out fine until it gets to the main menu of the game page, then it will just completely freeze and stop working. I've tried everything to run I tried to run in Computability with Windows XP mode and it will still do the same thing, I even tried to uninstall and reinstall the game and who does not either because it will freeze just when the window displaying the initialization of the installation or uninstall initialization program opens and it's the end of this. If its basically as I installed it on my computer but I can't do anything with it I can't play, I can't try to fix it and I can't even uninstall it. So is my question possible that maybe I can get Train Simulator to work properly on my computer?
    Thank you!

If it freezes completely like that, it may be a hardware conflict any.  I heard similar things regarding the sound card drivers.  I would check to make sure that you have the latest audio drivers on your computer and also make sure your graphics drivers.  Usually your machine must not only freeze whatever the program itself, unless you have a driver problem.

Notes I've read, people get the game to work by mode of compatibility you tried (even if some have used Windows 95 and not XP compatible) and at the launch of the game, they choose "Run as Administrator" by clicking on the launcher and choosing it.

Try and see if you have a little better chance
