Can I remove McAfee VirusScan Plus?

I want to use another anti-virus program and have already installed VirusScan more in my veirtual machine. I have looked for ways to uninstall/remove/disable and found nothing. How can I get rid of this program?

McAfee offers a very good Uninstall list of instructions here:

http://service.McAfee.com/FAQDocument.aspx?ID=TS100507

This should apply to your installation of VirusScan Plus.  The Development tool will be may not be not necessary, but then again it might.  Try it and let us know how you go.

See you soon,.

  • Fusion 2.0.2 shipped with McAfee VirusScan Plus Installer update

When I went to download the last update just came out today I find that two download options. We're just the update that is suggested for computing professionals. The other is bundled with McAfee VirusScan Plus Installer. Is it a 'new '? The VirusScan would not need to be a paid subscription? I was just wondering because there is no clear explanation, and I don't remember McAffee never be packaged with merger in the past. Personally I use ClamAV and as I do not web browsing from my virtual machine I don't feel the need for a paid anti-virus program.

McAfee VirusScan Plus first delivered with Fusion 2.0.0 and it's a free 1 year subscription.

The only difference between the disk image file two .dmg is one to the antivirus.iso and the other is not otherwise there is no functional difference between the two.

    McAfee and AOL

I've been using Webroot anti-virus and Anti-Spyware.  I had McAfee on my computer in the past (I think it was because I use AOL mail).  I noticed that McAfee is still listed in my program folder.  My computer was slow, and I'm looking for things to delete.  Removing McAfee effect would use my AOL mail?

    Hello

I don't think it would affect the use of your AOL email. But make sure that you have another antivirus in place and updated once McAfee is deleted. (That you already have the Webroot program.)

You can use the McAfee removal tool to uninstall the program.
