  • Can I use the Windows Media Center already purchased with newly installed Win 8 Pro?

Hello, community.  I've never really had to ask any questions or messages on the community forums, but simply, I can't find the answer to this,

So Microsoft was offerring winder 8 Pro at prices extremely low at launch.  Another bonus is that you could sign up for a free installation of Windows Media Center.  I have a TB tuner card in one of my places with two ports so I can watch TV or it is apparent from the file on my PC as a DVR and it worked perfectly.   However, recently, my c:\ died and I had to buy a new one and I got a new copy of Windows 8 Pro.  I was hoping that my account name Microsoft would allow me to re - download Media Center but it looks like I'll have to buy it now.

Is it the way it is or am I missing something that could restore my MWC installation?

Thanks in advance for any answers.

    Hello

How did you install operating system Windows 8, which was previously an upgrade installation or custom?

If you have Windows Media Center free of charge then you would have received a product key for the same thing, I recommend you to use the same product key to activate or add Windows Media center to a new installation of Windows 8 PRO.

  • I can't delete some files from Windows Media Library

I emptied on all downloads of music from my computer, but I am unable to get rid of titles and generic icons for in Windows Media Player (5000 of them). I tried all the remedies published without success.

Is it possible to remove and reinstall Windows Media Player?

Can anyone give me more information?

    Thank you

    Hi Trifolium Verde,

Follow the steps below and check if that helps you solve the problem with Windows Media Player.

    Method 1

You can try to clear the database of Windows Media Player and check if it clears thetitles and generic icons

To do this, follow these steps:

    Step 1

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. for Windows 7: click Start, run, type %LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft\Media Player , and then click OK.

    3. Select all the files in the folder, and then click delete on the file menu.

Note you don't have to remove the folders that are in this folder.

    4. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

    Step 2

If this does not resolve the problem, disable the Windows Media Player database cache files. To do this, follow these steps:

    1. exit Windows Media Player.

    2. If you are running Windows 7, click Start, click Run, type % LOCALAPPDATA%\Microsoft and then click OK.

3 select the folder Media Player, and then click delete on the file menu.

    4. restart Windows Media Player.

Note Windows Media Player automatically rebuilds the database.

Also note before performing the steps above, I suggest to save the songs and try the steps above.

    Method 2

If the steps above do not resolve the problem, you can try to disable Windows Media player and then enable the feature that is as good as the uninstall and put it back. Follow the steps below to do the same.

To enable or disable the window Media Player 12, follow these steps:

    1. click the Start button, select Control Panel, click programs and then click turn on turn Windows features on or off. If you are prompted for an administrator password or a confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.

    2. expand Media features clear the check box next to the feature of Media Player, to remove media player. Click OK and restart the computer.

    3. turn on the media player again by selecting the check box next to the feature of Media Player.

Access the link below for more information on the steps above to turn off or on the features of Windows 7.

I hope this helps. Let us know the results.

  • Can I use the Windows Media player this Adobe pirate intead? How, please? E-mail address is removed from the privacy *.

Adobe Flash Player prevents me to display videos because I don't want to share my personal computer storage.

Wholesale! constitutional question here! Can I use the Windows Media player this Adobe pirate intead? How, please? Or any other way to overcome this in-your-face PEST hijacker - Adobe Flash? * E-mail address is removed from the privacy *

    Hello

Flash Player and Windows Media Player are not interchangeable.

Like many things on the web, the Flash Player local storage can be put to bad use. This does not necessarily mean the Flash Player without scruples or bad product - it's the sites Web/people who abuse of this (depending on your point of view).

You can configure Flash Player to block local storage on your computer. This does not necessarily all the features of Flash Player - for example with my set of Flash Player to block local storage I can still see videos on YouTube.

The controls for the Flash Player local storage can be found here: *

    Start-> Control Panel-> Flash Player (32-bit) (Tab instorage )

There is a good explanation of privacy and local storage of Flash Player here:

    I hope this helps.

    * You have not stated your version of Windows, so it's Windows 7.

  • How can we download WMV (Windows media video)?

How can we download WMV (Windows media video) because the thing is that my walkman can play wmv files and its not downloaded on my computer. I tried windows media player, but it did not work!

If you say that you have downloaded video clips
who are in a different format... the solution would be
    to convert to WMV format.

There are many programs that can do conversions...
The following freeware is an example...:

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

    Format Factory
    http://www.videohelp.com/tools/Format_Factory
    (the 'direct link' is faster)
(the file you want to download is: > FFSetup260.zip<>
    (FWIW... installation..., you can uncheck
('all' boxes on the last screen)

First, you will need to decompress the file or just open the
Drag FFSetup260.exe out of the folder
and drop it on your desktop. To install left click.

Next, after the download and installation of Format
Factory... you can open the program and
left click on the toolbar, the "Option" button and
"Select an output folder to" / apply / OK.
(this is where you find your files after they)
    are converted)

Drag and drop your video clips on the main screen...

Select "all to WMV" / OK...

Click on... Beginning... in the toolbar...

    That should do it...

    Good luck...

How can I reinstall the Windows Media Center Gadget on my PC with Windows 7, 64-bit?  I had left it one day and now I don't know where he is. I went into the control panel and tried to 'Restore the Gadget', but he said it was not something to restore. I don't know how to get the file from one account to another, if that's what I'm supposed to do. I just want to know how to get the original back that came when I downloaded Media Center for the first time (that I tried to do it again. "But it did not help at all).

  • version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible with this version of Windows.

I try to use a practical driving theory CD ROM, but when I try to load the disk it says that my version of Windows Media Technologies is incompatible with this version of Windows. I received a message to go to the Microsoft Corporation website to find a solution or an updated version, but when I arrived I did not know where to place you or what I was looking for? My system is Windows Vista

    Hello

always check the compatibility of vista programs on the link below

    http://www.Microsoft.com/Windows/compatibility/Windows-Vista/default.aspx

If a program is compatible with vista you can try right click on the setup.exe, and then selecting run as administrator

It is not compatible with vista, you can try running it in a previous operating system mode

This does not work for all programs

  • How can I remove the Windows Media Player library?

I have Windows 7 Professional 64-bit Edition and Windows Media Player 12.0.7600.166667.

I finally got my music organized, so I deleted some files from my computer and moved songs between folders.  It seems that I can't remove all the songs from Windows Media Player which do not exist physically.  I tried to empty my entire library, I could rebuilt it.  In Windows Media Player, I clicked on the music (left), and then I clicked on the first song, hold down the SHIFT key and click the last song so that all my music has been chosen.  Then, I clicked and selected delete.  I said that I wanted to remove JUST the library, no computer.  When he was done, there was still 5501 songs left.  I know that once, I could just delete wmplibrary.db, but I get no hits on that when I get into the field at the bottom of the start menu.  I decided to uninstall Windows Media Player and reinstall, but when I go to start-> Control Panel-> uninstall a program, the only entry I see that looks remotely Windows Media Player is Windows Media Encoder 9 Series... but I wasn't brave enough to try it.

    Any ideas?  Thank you!

Wow - thank you, my mp3 player thanks and my children thank you!  The convenience store did not help - he told me that my library has been altered... as I didn't know that already!  But the manual method operated very well... but if someone else is reading this for help, I don't have to start my computer in safe mode because one of the files (which was large enough that it WAS probably the file that I needed deleted) was in use with the network share and I had no idea how close anyone who opened.  But in safe mode worked very well.

Thank you very much for your help!  And thanks for the information on troubleshooting: I had never heard of this before!

  • How can I add a data cd that I burned in my windows media library?

I was about to do a cover of the plant out-of-box and burned all my music and photos on several CD in the form of data. I made the recovery. I can get the CD to play in windows media, but for the life of me, the rip options or anything else I try just won't let me get those files in my library. Can someone please? Or is this beyon repair problem?

No need to rip CD data - you can just use Windows Explorer to copy MP3 files from your music collection CD personal. After that, they should appear automatically in the WMP library.

Read the info on the link above.

And there are other links to the Web page above; and more info in the section "click on" here.

Add items to the Windows Media Player library

You can use the Windows Media Player library to help you organize your entire collection of digital media on your computer, including music, videos and photos. Once you add files to your library, you can read the files, burn mix CD, create playlists, sync the files portable music and video players and share files with other devices on your home network. There are several methods that you can use to add files to your library:

    • Follow-up of the files. When you start the player for the first time, it automatically searches certain folders by default on your computer for the photo files, video and music and then adds these files to your library. If ever, you add or remove files from these folders, the Player automatically update the library accordingly. You can change the folders the Player monitors if you store some of your digital media files in a location that will not be detected automatically.

    • Add media files that you play. When you play a file on your computer or on the Internet, the Player automatically adds the file to your library if it isn't already in your library. The reader does not automatically add a file that you play from removable storage media, a device removable storage, or on a shared network folder. For example, if you play a file that is stored on a CompactFlash card a data CD, or in a shared folder on another computer on your network, the player will not automatically add the file to your library.

    • Extract music from a CD. You can use the reader to extract the tracks of your audio CD. During extraction, the tracks are created as files on your computer.

    • Download music and videos from online stores. You can register with player online stores. Once you do, you can download music and video files from online stores.
