Can I update to Windows 7 Pro 64-bit of Windows Vista Edition full 32 bit?

I've updated for Windows 7 Ultimate to Windows Vista Ultimate Edition and had to use the 32-bit version, so I wouldn't lose my data.

I have a ThinkPad T61 with a Permas Core 2 Duo CPU T9500 with 4 GB of RAM.

Can I upgrade to Windows 7 Professional 64 bit of Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit OS without losing my data?  If I can, my programs work with the 64 bit version?  In addition, what are the benefits of upgrading to the 64-bit version?

No, you will need to do a clean install.

The paths of upgrade from 32 to 64-bit are not possible in addition to the professional Ultimate editions are not possible.

You will need to back up your personal files and settings by using Windows Easy Transfer:

  • Need HELP: Windows 7 Ultimate upgrade Windows Vista Edition full

When my phone was broken, one of my friends that he fixed and did not know that it has installed Windows 7 Ultimate in there which is not legitimate. Originally, Windows Vista Home Premium has been installed in it. I want to go back to Windows Vista and I have a drive to install Windows Vista Edition full and wanted to install it without losing my files. How can I do?

    Hello

    It's not a downgrade.

Unless you have a windows.old folder, you cannot reinstall Vista without losing your files and programs.

You will need to do a clean install.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

You can use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Keep due to lack of updates of Windows Vista Edition Home Premium

I have Windows Vista Home Premium SP1, and it is configured to search for and install updates automatically. I recently had to change this setting if the manual I received an update on the last update failure message try.

The computer attempts to download the following updates: update for windows vista for x 64 (KB970653), updat to .net framework 3.5 systems service pack 1 for Wizard framework .net 1.0 x 64 (KB963707), update for internet compatibility view list explore 8 for windows vista for x 64-based systems (KB973874), update for windows vista for systems x 64 (KB972036) and update for windows vista for systems x 64 (KB973879).

I called Costco to help (because that's where I bought the computer) and all they can tell me is not install updates. I'm afraid that one or all updates can be important for the computer, and not their update will put my machine at risk.

  • Update for Windows Vista Edition family may 12 Premium taking hours to install

    Hello
I use Windows Vista Home Premium on a Sony VAIO VGN - SR 190.  When I went to shut down my computer today (13 May 2009), I clicked on the icon that said he was going to install updates and then turn off the computer.  I did this several times in the past without problem.  Now the computer screen showed 'Installing Update 1 of 5...' for the last 3 hours.  This set of updates does take really too long?  Is there's something screwed up with my computer and I turn it off manually, how that will affect the update?  Will my jet computer when I turn it back on?  Thanks for any help on this!
    -Steve M

    Hi Chris,

Thanks a lot for all of your helpful information.  I finally just manually turned off the computer, restarted, then clicked on the icon that says this install updates and then turn off the computer, and this time it worked fine.  It is not uncommon for my computer display the 'Shutting Down' and never stop (in this case), so it was probably the same is going on here except that Vista tried to install updates.  Thanks again for your help.

    -Steve M.

  • What about the Windows Vista Edition full Edition-Home Basic / Home Premium after April 10,2012

I read that Microsoft will end support and eventually none of these versions will be supported. Why isn't Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, which is marketed as "Designed for" more supported. It can be used by customers and the high - end or low-end companies.

They provide the update for all versions of vista and Office 15 and other programs after April 2012 compatible with Vista. It's support in my book.

  • Qosmio G30-176: BSOD when installing Windows Vista Edition full

I have my wisdom(??!!) I bought a Toshiba Qosmio g30-176 with preinstalled Windows XP MCE 2005. The plan was to install Windows Vista Ultimate on drive D: (do the dual machine boot XP & Vista). I've updated the BIOS today on the Toshiba site and I ran Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor.

I started the upgrade of Vista (custom) and installed the Toshiba RAID drive C: Qosmio (driver C:\toolscd\raid) driver. Installation starts copying the files from the Vista installation disc. This completes OK.

The upgrade then continues to "unpack"(?) ". files - part way through this restarting of the o/s.
To restart the Qosmio stop with the blue screen of death and the "SESSION3_INITIALIZATION_FAILED" message "STOP: 0x0000006f (0xC000009D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).

    What is the error?
What should I do to fix it?

  • My valid copy of Windows Vista Edition full is telling that it is not authentic and that I have to pay to activate it.

I have a legitimate copy of windows in my hand with 2 CD case then why must I activate the same windows product, I had on my computer for 2 years. First of all I did not change any material in my computer so you can't use that excuse. I bought so many windows products since windows 3.1 to windows 98 for the Millennium of the window, xp home and professional and vista ultimate and now you say I have to buy a new copy. I can't believe this. I'm so angry. Go ahead and treat me like that. Just because you have the money and have the market you don't think I'm capable of anything, it's fraud and ripping off a consumer and you know. You have no reason for me to activate my windows again. It's like the 3 times on the same computer ruined. I does not change a single piece of hardware, and you want to deny my activation. all I know is that better, solve you the problem. It's so bad. If I lose my personal accounts and subscriptions I pay online because my windows is not working properly you're going to pay for them.
