Qosmio G30-176: BSOD when installing Windows Vista Edition full

I have my wisdom(??!!) I bought a Toshiba Qosmio g30-176 with preinstalled Windows XP MCE 2005. The plan was to install Windows Vista Ultimate on drive D: (do the dual machine boot XP & Vista). I've updated the BIOS today on the Toshiba site and I ran Windows Vista Upgrade Advisor.

I started the upgrade of Vista (custom) and installed the Toshiba RAID drive C: Qosmio (driver C:\toolscd\raid) driver. Installation starts copying the files from the Vista installation disc. This completes OK.

The upgrade then continues to "unpack"(?) ". files - part way through this restarting of the o/s.
To restart the Qosmio stop with the blue screen of death and the "SESSION3_INITIALIZATION_FAILED" message "STOP: 0x0000006f (0xC000009D, 0x00000000, 0x00000000, 0x00000000).

What is the error?
What should I do to fix it?
Thanks - Alan E

Hello

You perform an upgrade or a new installation of OS?
If you have tired to upgrade XP to Vista you must first remove some utilities Toshiba XP because some XP tools are not compatible with the new Vista operating system

Originally, Windows Vista Home Premium has been installed in it. I want to go back to Windows Vista and I have a drive to install Windows Vista Edition full and wanted to install it without losing my files. How can I do?

    Hello

    It's not a downgrade.

Unless you have a windows.old folder, you cannot reinstall Vista without losing your files and programs.

You will need to do a clean install.

    @@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@@

You can use a Microsoft Vista DVD, which contains the files for the different editions of Vista (Home Basic, Home Premium, Business and Ultimate) must be installed. The product key on your computer / Laptop box determines what Edition is installed.

Other manufacturers recovery DVDs are should not be used for this purpose.

And you need to know the version of 'bit' for Vista, as 32-bit and 64-bit editions come on different DVDs

Here's how to do a clean install of Vista using a DVD of Vista from Microsoft:

"How to do a clean install and configure with a full Version of Vista '

    http://www.Vistax64.com/tutorials/117366-clean-install-full-version-Vista.html

And once the operating system is installed, go to your computer manufacturer's website and get the latest drivers for your particular model or laptop computer.

And phone Activation may be necessary when you use the above installation method.

  • Re: Satellite L300-1AP BSOD when installing Windows XP

I have a new L300-1AP and would like to intall XP Pro but when I try it I get the stop message 0x0000007b.

Made a new installation disc integrated with all updated sata drivers, I still get the message. I'm not sure about how I would install drivers of third party on the F6 function because it has not a diskette and cany to find how to do the same thing in a CD anywere.

I appreciate that we should all try to use the vista OS that came with it, but it is a problem of compatibility with older software that I use.

    Can anyone help please?

In the Microsoft Knowledge Base is an article about it:
    http://support.Microsoft.com/?scid=kb%3ben-us%3B324103&x=17&y=8

I think that there is something wrong with the SATA drivers. My Satellite L300 works with XP without problems or BSOD when installing.

The SATA drivers are in this package, and the Intel Storage Manager you can download on the Toshiba site.
You can create your own installation with nLite (http://www.nliteos.com/) disc.
If I have integrated the SATA drivers, you do not have to press F6. The HARD drive will be automatically recognized.

  • Qosmio X 300 BSOD after installing Windows

    Hello

    I have a laptop x 300-11 t Qosmio.
I tried to install Windows XP by "slipstreaming" good hard drive SATA/RAID drivers and others on the installation CD. Windows through the installation process, but when it restarts for the first time, the sign of Windows load for about 1 second and then gives me a blue error screen (HDD error)

    STOP: 0X0000007B (0XBACCF524, 0XC0000034, 0X000000 0X000000)

The BIOS also doesn t allow me to change the compatibility thing AHCI mode is
Don t know what else to do?
I need to integrate the SATA/RAID driver specific to the installation CD?
    Boot sector virus?
    Can it really be installed?

    Help, please

I'm pretty sure that you have installed the wrong driver SATA/RAID.

On the Toshiba site are no XP drivers available so that you download on Intel: [www.intel.com]
You need the Intel Matrix Storage Manager.

    Hello

I have several question for you:

-What system was installed before? Windows Vista?
-where you have downloaded the display driver? On the Toshiba site?
-You can find all the necessary drivers in the section download the drivers on the Toshiba site-> http://eu.computers.toshiba-europe.com/cgi-bin/ToshibaCSG/download_drivers_bios.jsp?service=EU
Simply choose XP MCE as an operating system, the drivers are the same as XPPro/XP

I read that Microsoft will end support and eventually none of these versions will be supported. Why isn't Windows Vista Ultimate Edition, which is marketed as "Designed for" more supported. It can be used by customers and the high - end or low-end companies.

  • Tecra A2 - BSOD when installing Windows

    Hello

I have a Tecra A2, I have not used for some time. I decided to start again and he gave me the blue screen of death just after loading Windows XP (before selecting your user profile). He continues to do so after I restarted several times, so I decided to reformat the computer.

I have reformat the computer and Windows XP begins to resettle. After installing I go through all issues of installation such as name, country, time zone, recording etc.. After that's done, I get the blue screen of death again. I restart the computer and it tries to load Windows XP. Then he told me that "the system is not fully installed. Please run Setup again. "Then he gives me the blue screen of death.

Rereformating laptop computer does exactly the same thing as the first time. So I tried to boot the computer with the recovery discs, and that did not help. He finished just gives me the blue screen of death.

    Can someone help me?

    Hello!

I agree with Akuma. You should post the BSOD code because there are many of them. If you have the BSOD code, you can search in the Mircorosft Knowledge Base. Often you can find an article on this issue.

In my view, it could be a HARD drive or RAM problem, but together you can check with special tools. Use Memtest86 for RAM and the aptitude Test drive to the HARD drive. The tools that you can find with Google.
