  • Can I use a number of product key finder instead of the number on the sticker to reinstall windows vista Home premium?

The sticker on the bottom of the laptop is half faded way so I don't have the original full product key number, the one I have from a product keys finder is different of course it will still work when you perform a full system restore?

If your Vista is pre-installed when you purchased your computer, you have an OEM version. The only correct product key for your computer is attached to your computer.

The game of product key that you got through the software 'key finder' will NOT work for you.

Contact the manufacturer of your computer. Ask what follows...

    1. a set of recovery disks. The cost is minimal, and the money will be well spent. You can use the set to restore your computer to factory State.

    2. ask to talk to a technician. Ask technology to teach you how to access your recovery Partition and use it to make the recovery of the system. They installed the recovery partition, not Microsoft. They know exactly how to use it.

The advice above do not require using the product key.

Have you considered using Windows 8 refresh or the HP Recovery Manager to perform a recovery of image factory?

Do yourself a big favor and do not format the hard drive and delete the partitions.

Use the disk set or recovery of recovery media that you must already have created to perform an image recovery plant. If you need to redo the operating system of your laptop is because there is a problem of virus\malware\adware then an image recovery plant certainly solve this issue.

Your license key is embedded in the BIOS. He will be recognized by the recovery and Microsoft software when you sign after recovery,

If you can still boot your old disk, you can use a program such as one of them:

    Belarc Advisor: <> http://www.belarc.com/free_download.html >

to read the key out of your old system.

Also note that if you have a system OEM and the OEM installation disks, the key can be incorporated in the installation discs and can not be necessary when your reinstalling Windows.

  • Use the Express Upgrade product key to Windows 7 Edition upgrade Home premium to Windows 7 Professional.

Original title: Win7 pro anytime upgrade/Win XPmode.

I just installed Win7 64 bit Home Premium (Retail) on a new PC.

There are a few applications that works properly (or at all) on the new Win7 64 bit PC. (they ran OK on win7/32 and XP/32)

I wanted to try and install on win7/64 PC XPMODE and run these applications from there, when I tried to install XPmode on the win7/64 home premium, the only choice who would have even tried to install was Win XPmode 64 bit (but of course, all this was doomed to failure because XPmode requires Win7 Pro).

I have a 32 bit (Retail) win7 which has been upgraded with anytime upgrade to Win7 Pro.

Can I use the Anytime Upgrade prod. key at least temporarily (I know that this license is for 1 PC ONLY) update the new Win7/64 Win7 Pro, install XPmode 64 bit to see if these applications will run on a 64-bit XP?

If it works I'll tell you how to disable the worm on the old PC Pro and use it on the new PC.

How can I just get a new product key?  I'm not just software product key.  I have windows 7 Home premium, but it can only be used on a single computer.  I have a counter top and a netbook.  I spent $124,00 once and I won't spend that again.

    You buy the product again.

    > I don't want to just software product key.

The software comes with the key when you buy. You have not a
    choice.

    > I have windows 7 Home premium, but it can only be used on a single computer.

Right, the rule is quite clear. It is a copy (or a license) for
    each computer.

There is nothing new here. This is exactly the same rule that has been in
effect on all versions of Windows from at least with Windows 3.1.

    > I have a counter top and a netbook. I spent $124,00 once and I won't spend that again.

Then, unless you can find a lower price somewhere or you wish to fly,
    you're out of luck.

What kind of file is it? What is its extension (the characters
After the dot at the end of the file name)? And what program is trying
to open it and needs a product key?

Please answer these questions, but I'll also venture a guess: you
try to open a file with Microsoft Word and Word .docx or .doc
    request a product key.
If this is the case, in all probability, your computer comes with a trial version
version of Microsoft Office pre-installed. Your trial period is now in place and if
you want to continue using it, you must buy a copy and get a
    product key for this.

  • I need to activate my windows 7 Home premium and when I look at the bottom of my computer product key essentially disappeared... What can I do to get my product key?

I need to activate my windows 7 Home premium and when I look at the bottom of my computer product key essentially disappeared... What can I do to get my product key?

Option 1: You will need to invest in a new license.

Option 2: If your computer comes with a recovery partition, use to reinstall Windows 7, it will exempt the need to have a product key.

Option 3. Ask a recovery disk set from the manufacturer of your computer and use it to reinstall Windows 7, it will be exempt from the need to have a product key too.

New computers coming often pre-installed with Windows 7 have what is called a recovery partition. This is used to reinstall an operating system in the case of a system failure. To access it, you need to start when you start your computer by pressing a function key. This can be either F1, F2, F9, F10, F11, F12 key DEL or tab. See the manual that came with your PC for instructions on how to reinstall Windows.

If your recovery partition is not available or damaged, you must contact the manufacturer of your computer, and request that a defined recovery disk you can use to reinstall Windows 7. They could practice a small shipping and handling.

    ------------------------------------

This is how the recovery partition is available for the most popular brands

For Dell, press CTRL + F11 directly after switching on the device

For HP, press F11 directly after switching on the device

For Toshiba, press and hold "0" BEFORE and during the power upward

For Acer, press and hold ALT + F10, as soon as you see the logo

For Asus, press F9, as soon as you see the Asus logo.

Advent, restart your computer. Then, press F10 repeatedly until the message "Starting system recovery"

If your laptop is you allowing access to your office and you can run a program, download the Belarc Advisor and run it on the computer. Among a large amount of hardware and software information will be the original product code for your Windows Vista and any desktop software you have loaded.

If need be, download it from another computer and transfer the file of configuration via USB stick, CD or network.
