Yes, certainly, you can do this... That's the sole purpose of OEM Grid control.
You can also check the auditor certification for all types of targets managed by grid OEM OEM:
Please check MOS: Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Certification Checker [412431.1 ID]

Unable to see Oracle database target in the control of Enterprise Manager grid
I installed Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid control 11g R1 on the Server1 and database Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.4) on server 2. During the installation of the grid control on the server 1 has provided details of the server2 database.
Now, after the installation when connected to the control grid target-> databases doesn't display any target database. I ran out of configuration?
FYI - Agent one SGD run on Server1.Some explanation please:
Did you install WHO 1 and the OMR database on 2? CMS and SEO or on databases 1 and install another DB on the 2?
In the second case you can install an agent on 2 also. In the first case, the agent on 1 cannot 'see' the DB on the 2, so also install an agent on 2.Eric

10g Grid Control with database 11g
Hello
According to the name of the topic, it is possible to manage a database 11g with 10g grid control? The situation is that 10g grid is up and running and we have several new 11g databases, can they be added?
After that, when I try to install an agent from the web interface, I'm invited only with the Linux platform, however the 11g database is under Windows, how can this be resolved? (Enterprise Manager Grid Control works on linux)
Thank you very much for the input.Mika wrote:

Yes, it can. But better to use the Agent and the Group of OEM Grid Control 10.2.0.5 patch.
Learn more Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid Control Certification Checker ID 412431.1*.After that, when I try to install an agent from the web interface, I'm invited only with the Linux platform, however the 11g database is under Windows, how can this be resolved?
Not sure I understand how you install the agent, could you clarify? It comes from the OEM Grid COntrol? Have you downloaded the Agent for Windows?

Dear all,
We have a 10.2.0.5.0 Server Enterprise edition db Oracle Solaris spark 64bits.
We want to install Oracle enterprise manager on that server by using the server db as the repository FRO the EM server.
We are download release of the EM below. So my question is that this version of the MA that we download is valid for this version of the OS, or we need to download another version.
And you can share a best tutorial to install the EM 12.1.0.4 in 10.2.0.5 db repository on Solaris spark 64bits.

is 12.1.0.2 version is the latest version for the control of cloud?
If we install 12.1.0.2, is there a patch to be applied after update install the latest version?
Thank youAs mentioned Rob you should also check My Oracle Support for the recommended patches. Go to patches and updates | Search patch | Research | Recommended Patch advise and serve 'Business Manager Base platform - WHO' the product. You can use this to get a list of the patches to be applied.

Target management automatic storage down in Enterprise Manager Grid 11.1
Hello
I use Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid 11.1.0.1.0 and I got alert that ASM target is down, because the entire box of linux, database and the ASM have been restarted. The database uses ASM and it is running now. This alert is old, how clear he / she re-evaluate that if the State concerned?
Here's what I got:
Agent is unable to communicate with the WHO. (REASON = Agent is inaccessible (REASON: Agent of Communication WHO is brokenNo WHO's response header))
Inaccessible agent is disabled. The current state of the target is DOWN.
The agent is inaccessible (REASON = no route to host). The host is unreachable (REASON = Ping has expired.)
The alert message is:
"Unable to connect to the instance of the DSO. "ORA-15000: order rejected by current instance type (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin).
I tried also to reassess the alert administrator super user, but I got the message "you don't have sufficient privilege to perform this operation. Only administrators with privileges to manage the target alert can collect measures. "
No idea how to reassess the State?
Thank you
MariaI found this remark:
https://support.Oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=not&DOCTYPE=problem&ID=1276657.1
That contains the news of gold nugget that solved my problem... You must ensure that use you the SYSDBA (and not SYSASM) role when you set up the monitoring of ASM. From the notes, it appears that the JDBC Thin client has no idea what to do with the role of "SYSASM".
Hope that helps.

How to use the OEM grid control to find databases, not in archivelog mode?
Hello
We have currently 130 databases, say, if I want to come off as any database currently NOT in archivelog mode, is there a quick way to find out?
using the OEM grid control
or
a similar trick,
but really do not need to manually check each database.
Thank you very much! This query works in 12 c - please run as SYSMAN.
It is based on undocumented assumptions well + (AND key_value = "NOARCHIVELOG") +.SELECT * FROM SYSMAN.MGMT$GROUP_DERIVED_MEMBERSHIPS O , SYSMAN.MGMT$TARGET T , sysman.MGMT$AVAILABILITY_CURRENT st WHERE o.member_target_type IN ('oracle_database', 'rac_database') AND ( t.target_type ='rac_database' OR (t.target_type ='oracle_database' AND t.type_qualifier3 != 'RACINST')) AND o. member_target_guid = t.target_guid AND t.target_guid = st.target_guid AND st.availability_status = 'Target Up' AND ( EXISTS (SELECT * FROM sysman.mgmt$metric_current i WHERE I.TARGET_GUID = O.MEMBER_TARGET_GUID AND metric_name = 'archFull' AND Metric_Column = 'archTotal' AND metric_label = 'Archive Area' AND column_label = 'Total Archive Area (KB)' AND key_value = 'NOARCHIVELOG' ));
Another way to achieve the goal is to push the extended parameters (SELECT LOG_MODE FROM V$ DATABASE) on each DB and monitor the values they return to the repository. This is an example for a (slightly) different problem - http://iiotzov.wordpress.com/2012/08/08/how-to-use-the-new-oem-12c-metric-extensions-to-enforce-enterprise-wide-custom-policies.
OEM repository has many other uses grand-http://iiotzov.files.wordpress.com/2012/05/oem-repository-a-second-look.doc, http://iiotzov.files.wordpress.com/2011/08/iotzov_oem_repository.pdf

How to disable auto-start for Enterprise Manager Cloud Control (EMC12cr2)
Hello world
I am new to Oracle Enterprise Manager Cloud control 12 c Release 2 (EMC12cr2)
Recently, I installed EMC12cr2 on Oracle Linux 6.3. I followed a single document to install, and it is ok after installation.
But after I restart the test server, I discovered that it is very slow, as the services of EMC12cr2 is auto-start at startup such SGD and agent.
So could you please tell me how to disable the service EMC12cr2 or SGC auto start, so that it makes the system to reboot as soon as possible.
Thanks in advance,

Hello guys.
I have a situation where non-technical people "was" and "are" using GRID control to kill session they "think" are originally from the problems of performance based only on the actual color of the moving window of Performance.
When I was told this, I got a feeling very sick in my stomach and said to this person that they are VERY lucky they have not corrupted in the database of PROD AGAIN!
First Question:
How to recognize these people who kill sessions they run the RISK completely hose PROD and could experienced LOSS OF DATA REAL if something goes wrong.
Second Question:
Because I'm just sur-monte to this place, should I wait a little before the implementation of new safety standards and to run the risk of harming someone ego?
Please advise,
Thank you
Lady Allora...
The permissions to kill sessions are not provided by Enterprise Manager. EM is just the application they use to do this. They might also kill sessions with SQL * Plus, SQL Developer, or anything else. In EM, they authenticate to the database with an account. It is this database account that offers their privileges to perform this action. The appropriate security controls must be handled in the database.
When I was a new kid in a business, the first thing I did was examine and test backup and restore procedures. The second thing I did was to make my own security audit of the database. I found a lot of articles where I felt that the security of the database was in jeopardy. You have found an item and it is likely that you'll find much more of these elements. I recorded all the elements found in a spreadsheet and ranked in order of importance to fix. I then had a discussion with my directors on my security results. We went through the items one by one and discusses why it is important to clean up this line item. This gave me an action plan which has been approved by the management in the future. In many cases, I had to define corporate policies and create new processes. Those who once could make ActionX in the database still needed to do their job when I revoked their ability to do so. These people would need something new in place to help resolve or manage anything ever ActionX for them.
See you soon,.
