Unable to see Oracle database target in the control of Enterprise Manager grid

I installed Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid control 11g R1 on the Server1 and database Oracle 10g R2 (10.2.0.4) on server 2. During the installation of the grid control on the server 1 has provided details of the server2 database.

Now, after the installation when connected to the control grid target-> databases doesn't display any target database. I ran out of configuration?

FYI - Agent one SGD run on Server1.

Some explanation please:
Did you install WHO 1 and the OMR database on 2? CMS and SEO or on databases 1 and install another DB on the 2?
In the second case you can install an agent on 2 also. In the first case, the agent on 1 cannot 'see' the DB on the 2, so also install an agent on 2.

  • Looking for what software required for the Installation of Enterprise Manager

    Hi all

I'm quite new to work with Enterprise Manager, previously used 11g Database Control, but never install Enterprise Manager (OEM). Now, due to the increase of the databases, I am planning to install OEM (Oracle Enterprise Manager) to list all the database (more than 20 Linux servers) in one place.

I have read the documentation and still confused on what needs to be installed for the OEM. I intend to use OEM 12 c Release (12.1.0.4), my current databases are 11 GR 2 (11.2.0.4).

Could you tell what I need to at the bottom of the list?

    1. OEM (12.1.0.4)
    2. Web logic Server (do I need that separately, or it will be installed with OEM)?
    3. OEM agent on all other 20 servers (I have to install a software on them? Please guide)
    4. A specific version of Java.

Please guide me if I need any other software or plugin.

I have already installed the oracle software and created a database by using the "Custom" option in DBCA. My server operating system is Linux 64 Bit for Enterprise Manager.

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

You need to control software for cloud 12 c OEM, software database (for creating repository) and software agent (for tracking targets on other hosts)

Java Development Kit (JDK) 1.6.0.43.0 and Oracle WebLogic Server 11 g Release 1 (10.3.6) are installed by default with the installation of SGD 12 c, even if you have a possibility to install it separately if you want, but Oracle strongly recommends using the installation process of 12 c to install the JDK and Oracle WebLogic Server for use with Enterprise Manager 12 c.

  • Target management automatic storage down in Enterprise Manager Grid 11.1

    Hello

I use Oracle Enterprise Manager Grid 11.1.0.1.0 and I got alert that ASM target is down, because the entire box of linux, database and the ASM have been restarted. The database uses ASM and it is running now. This alert is old, how clear he / she re-evaluate that if the State concerned?

    Here's what I got:

Agent is unable to communicate with the WHO. (REASON = Agent is inaccessible (REASON: Agent of Communication WHO is brokenNo WHO's response header))
Inaccessible agent is disabled. The current state of the target is DOWN.
The agent is inaccessible (REASON = no route to host). The host is unreachable (REASON = Ping has expired.)

    The alert message is:
"Unable to connect to the instance of the DSO. "ORA-15000: order rejected by current instance type (DBD ERROR: OCISessionBegin).

I tried also to reassess the alert administrator super user, but I got the message "you don't have sufficient privilege to perform this operation. Only administrators with privileges to manage the target alert can collect measures. "

No idea how to reassess the State?

    Thank you
    Maria

    I found this remark:

    https://support.Oracle.com/CSP/main/article?cmd=show&type=not&DOCTYPE=problem&ID=1276657.1

That contains the news of gold nugget that solved my problem... You must ensure that use you the SYSDBA (and not SYSASM) role when you set up the monitoring of ASM. From the notes, it appears that the JDBC Thin client has no idea what to do with the role of "SYSASM".

    Hope that helps.

Yes, certainly, you can do this... That's the sole purpose of OEM Grid control.

You can also check the auditor certification for all types of targets managed by grid OEM OEM:

Please can someone! help this old man! gazza.

    Hi gazza.

Scan your computer for malware and try to remove it.

You can use the Microsoft Safety Scanner to do the same.

Note: The data files that are infected must be cleaned only by removing the file completely, which means that there is a risk of data loss.

Unfortunately, when a system is infected the best way to ensure that everything has been deleted is to perform a clean installation.

  • Comparing the data set of Oracle database local to the Remote SQL Server database

    Hello

I have a table in an Oracle database that is gradually being updated with a table in SQL server through the database link. There is a field "Date of creation" in the table in SQL server that I used to find the newly created records and shoot and insert them into the local table to the Oracle database.

Now the question is the documents/data in the SQL server remote can be deleted as well and I see a lot of files are already deleted and I couldn't find a way to capture the information of deleted data to remove from my local table.

    I tried

    SELECT id local_table

    where there is no

    (select * (or 1))

    of remote_table@database_link

    where remote_table.id = local_table.id).

And I tried to replace not exist with no so.

The problem is that the query is too slow with link of database for IN/NOT EXISTS clause NO. So, I'm trying to find an effective way to capture the lines deleted in the remote to remove as a result of my local table table.

    Any help is appreciated.

    Oracle Database 11 g Enterprise Edition Release 11.2.0.2.0 - 64 bit

    It is perhaps easier

    Select pk / * or sustitutive key * / from Oracle.tba

    less

    Select pk / * or sustitutive key * / from SQLSERVER.tab

This returns the rows that exist in Oracle but not in SQL SERVER-> delteted lines in SQL Server.

Another way is to create a trigger to remove in sqlserver and track in a table delete lines.

  • recommended location for the installation of Enterprise Manager 13 c, my client pc or the database server?

    Hi all

I want to install Oracle enterprise manager 13 c on oracle 12 c Enterprise edition.

What is the recommended way to install EM? install on my client or install on the database server itself?

    Please guide me.

    Thank you.

Really, neither.   If you talk about the broad company EM Cloud Control (12 or 13), it requires adequate resources and must be installed on a server, no cell phones.  Unless you are looking just to play - you can then consult the virtual images available Oracle VM Templates.   It has also not recommended to run it on the same servers that you are monitoring.

How many targets you track / manage with the system?  If it is a unique environment, the Express EM version may be bettter, where you boot agent on the database server and manage most of the functions of the server.   If you have more than one or two databases, Cloud Control is the best, but it requires little equipment. Sizing of information can be found in the docs - https://docs.oracle.com/cd/E63000_01/EMBSC/preinstall_req_hw.htm#EMBSC121

  • Oracle concepts: Clarity on the control points required

First of all, I should mention my understanding, and then I'll raise my doubts/queries:

I think I know just enough of what are the points of control and their purpose; in order to validate and to have a deeper understanding, I was going through section "Importance of control points for example recovery ' chapter 'Instance of Oracle database' of ' 11 g Release 2 Oracle® database Concepts'.»
    -Oracle link Docs
    http://docs.Oracle.com/CD/E11882_01/server.112/e25789/startup.htm

Now I need some clarification on the mentioned content there.

I knew that control points are used to ensure that the control file and data files are synchronized and and it is a point where recovery instance is required, doc Oracle he mentions as a control point position.

    First question:
I see many types of checkpoints mentioned here as put on checkpoints, Tablespace and data files checkpoints and additional checkpoints, I tried to get that said, can anyone make it a little clearer to me in simple terms?

    Second question:
In the Oracle RAC environment, there are several threads to redo (one for each instance), how recovery Instance that happens? It is not clear to me, I want to say how serialization between multiple threads to roll forward to retrieve one or more has no instances?

    Kind regards

The term "checkpoint" has changed meaning over time. The original meaning was close to your description - a control point has allowed Oracle to determine that all blocks of data changed before a specific point in time (SNA) was written on the disc - however there are has reasons why Oracle might want to make sure that a specific blocks of data modified subset had been written on the disc and that's why the checkpoint term has expanded to cover the options such as a checkpoint of tablespace, or a checkpoint of object reuse. For example - if you truncate an object, then Oracle must copy everything puts in buffer for just that object on the disk before making the data dictionary and the space of management changes which perform the truncate (where the control point"reuse of objects '").

    Second question:
In the Oracle RAC environment, there are several threads to redo (one for each instance), how recovery Instance that happens? It is not clear to me, I want to say how serialization between multiple threads to roll forward to retrieve one or more has no instances?

All active instances in a RAC system will be constantly chatting to each other on the network and via the control lead - as soon as any instance think of another instance has failed, it will try to acquire exclusive global "recovery lock" - on the top of my head, I think it's the lock of the IR. When he arrives this lock, all other cases knows that there is a body controlling a recovery. Indeed the instance that got the blocking takes on the identity of the instance failed to recover through its newspapers online redo - obviously the process are much more complex than that, but it's probably a good starting point for an answer to your question.

  • The OIF using Enterprise Manager - metadata configuration expiry date

I'm trying to set up the OIF for the integration of the OAM - OIF and talk to our identity provider. We are a customer of Fusion HCM hosted on request.

Here are the steps to go to the screen

Enterprise Manager right click on OIF > Administration > Security and trust > metadata provider > Generate

Currently, the number of days is limited to no more than 120 days. We would replace the metadata of all file 120 days in IdP system. Follow us a process of pretty eloborate for PDI system changes so I wanted to know is there a way to allow metadata to be valid for more than 120 days (say 1 year or 2 years something that most of the other SP's)

We are on OOD hosted implementation of the HCM, so we have full access to the intermediate layer OIF/OIM/OAM, then I'll be okay if you can tell me where the new metadata file is stored so that I can change to be valid for more than 120 days.

    Thank you

    Published by: user535400 on May 20, 2013 11:17

The expiration of metadata is not configurable. It is set to 120 days to encourage the suppliers approved SAML periodically check and make sure that their local copy is in harmony with the metadata currently in force for the OIF Service provider. In practice, the change metadata are very rare (server certificate renewal, the endpoint URL changes) and are made with sufficient notice to enable the partners to plan for change.

Please file an ER if your needs dictate that the expiration of metadata be configurable.
