Can not recover partition after installing a new operating system

I recently bought a laptop G62-a31so and it came with windows 7 x 64, from the beginning, it could not start most of the programs, they would break everything simply, I got the idea I want to install windows vista on, which works well with my previous PC, I planned to create discs of recovery beforehand, but I couldn't be bothered when I discovered he required 4! DVD-s and it says in your manual that I can recover my system at any time of the partition. So I formatted the partition that has windows 7 on it before and installed vista, then I discovered that you have some drivers vista for this laptop, I tried to return to the status quo by the recovery of the partition, you press ESC on startup, then f11 in boot menu, but he started just vista.

I would like to know how I could restore my system to factory settings now?

You can try this, which works for many people (not all) >

1.right - click on the "Computer" icon and select manage.
2. This will launch the Microsoft Management Console.
3. on the left side of the MMC console, click "Disk management" and it will show you all the partitions.
4. right - click on the "HP Recovery" partition and select "Mark as Partition Active."
5. when the warning message appears, select 'Yes' – Reboot and it will automatically start in the Recovery Manager (without pressing F11).

    HY,

If I partition my hard drive and I install a new OS (E.g. Ubuntu 14.04) my warranty ends?

    Thank you

    SA

    Hello

No, it will not void the warranty but HP only supports the problems with the original operating system and prove the operation of the equipment of the original OS.

Do the recovery disks and keep them safe before so that you could go back to factory settings if there is no problem of partitioning.

Recovery partition usually works after partitioning, depends on your luck, but you could make the 'Active' Partition in disk management and try for recovery if it works or not.

Original title: MS Office programs do not open after installation of Windows update to Windows Vista operating system

After having decided to install the Windows Update my computer told me was available all my software as my programs MS Offfice is no longer open.  I don't know what to do.  The only thing that still works is the Windows Media Player.  I can't open Word or Excel, I can't access my photos.  Open Internet Explorer is like a weird nightmare but I am able to access the Internet.  I tried reinstalling my MS Office software, which did not work.  I have no idea what to do to solve the problem, but I need my computer back. It was good except for its slow, when I open certain programs, now I can't access something.  Any ideas what I should do to correct the nightmare?

  • When installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system?

Have a Dell system, caught a virus and it has really messed up the PC. Recently, it got worse so I tried to reinstall the operating system with the Dell disks. It wouldn't work. So I bought for Windows 7 Professional, it will not be installed. My first question when installing a new operating system isn't automatically wipe the hard disk, create a new partition, and then install the operating system? Because this does the same as the Dell disks, is to take what is on the hard drive and put it in a folder called windows old, is not formatting the HD. When I boot the disk, it shows the installation of files then open windows and start the installation. Before he could finish I get an error missing or corrupted files. Tried several times now, windows will still not open. Any suggestions? Once while trying to install the pc crashed with a blue screen which is one of the reasons why I have reinstall the OS, he started to plant a few times. I don't remember all the details on my PC, but its 4 years, triple core coprocessors, ram 8 GB, 500 GB HD. At the same time just after all this started in Jan. I had also improved my 3 GB to 8 GB memory. I bought the Dell memory for my system. Since the crash, could there be a problem with these new memory chips? Last night I tried to disassemble each and reinstalling it, but that doesn't seem to make a difference. Before I tried to reinstall the operating system, the pc was see the concert 8.

  • had to install the new operating system and bookmarks are gone

Hiya. I had problems with the computer and the fix was to install a new operating system (windows 7 it was old, windows 8 is the new). Most of my old files make the switch, but when I downloaded firefox, my favorites have disappeared. I looked in my profile in the menu, but it's the profile that I created today by downloading firefox. Where can I find my old profile? Any help is greatly appreciated! Thank you, Billy

Was this an upgrade of type "on the spot" where your user folder

    C:\Users\youroldusername\

was intact, or did you end up with a new user folder? In the case of a new user folder, you will find a folder named

    C:\Windows.old\Users\youroldusername\

If so, your Firefox data are probably here - and here's how I suggest to access:

First of all, it would be useful to set windows to display the hidden files and folders. This article has the steps: http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows/show-hidden-files

    Then click in:

    Username\AppData\Roaming\Mozilla\Firefox\Profiles C:\Windows.old\Users\

Note: there is a cache under AppData\Local folder, but everything important is under AppData\Roaming.

Here you can find one or several folders named random semi. Who has most recently updated content is probably one you want to restore.

This post has my suggested procedure to resurrect these data in your new installation of Firefox. Please note the use of the copy instead of move throughout the process. This allows you to try again if it fails somewhere along the way.

    https://support.Mozilla.org/questions/1024189#answer-638319

    A little luck?

Note that if you really ONLY want to bookmark, copy the last two backups of the old bookmarkbackups folder to a location such as the desktop, see the following article (you will use 'Choose file' in the menu to access these backups): restoring bookmarks from a backup or move them to another computer. Note that this process will replace all new bookmarks that you may have saved since installing Firefox again. If you need to preserve those, first use the export feature: Export Firefox bookmarks to an HTML file for backup or transfer bookmarks.

Thank you all.

A new installation of windows 7 can be said to delete this partition. do you when you get to the section "where do you want to install windows?" in installing windows 7. There is a player options button that allows you to delete both partitions... then create 1 new partition for windows and it throws a message saying that the operating system can create additional partitions... blah blah... and she... that way the 100 MB partition is clear. • can not recover partition

have a problem that I can't solve.  I just got my phone today, HP HDX 16, CTO. has been under vista 64.  I am part of the MS technology NET and got a copy of windows 7 RC1.  his market on my desk and I wanted to put on this laptop.  After installation, there are a lot of hardware compatibility problems, some touch fingerprint reader buttons do not work... etc.

I wanted to go back to vista 64 using the Recovery Manager. The recovery partition is intact, at the start, I hit f11 and get "f11... recovery ', then it starts the operating system, I get all the guests for the recovery. Obviously I don't have the Recovery Manager in windows 7, I tried to download an olderversion on found on softpedia, but it's not compatible, I poured on the support site for horus looking for software to help me recover.

SO my question is, how to, get a copy of the Recovery Manager, I need. Or is happening on this f11 cuasing doing nothing?  I used before recovering with my other laptops and never had this problem.

Thank you... I think that the installation of windows 7 messed up the boot partition and recovery console does not see the recovery partition. and I'm not sure how to fix this if it is the problem. That's why it hink running windows Recovery Manager can be a better option... If I can only find a copy that works

Have you done your recovery discs?  If this isn't the case, you will need to contact the HP Support to buy.

Currently running XP 32 Bit C: and do not want to lose all that, so I was wondering if it is possible to load 7 64 bit on a different drive (not C :) and select from F2 at startup - any advice much appreciated.)

Cannot install Windows 7 on an external hard drive. You can create a partition in Windows XP, and then install Windows 7 on it.

the first thing you need to do is download Easeus at the following link

Click Next, follow the easy on-screen instructions.

Once the installation is finished, click on finish

Click go to the main screen

Select the drive you want to resize in partition window

Drag the button until you have an amount of disk space to install Windows 7 you want, and then release.

Click on apply to apply the changes that you just made.

    Click Yes

    Click Yes

Your computer will restart several times and changes will be made to the layout of the partition, this process is hands-free, so no interaction is required.

    Hello

I bought a new HP Pavilion 550 - 055na with Windows 8 a month or two ago but want to use Windows 7. However, I decided that I will keep the hard, the PC came with, and have the option of Windows 8 in future if I want. So, I'm installing Windows 7 on a new hard drive.

My problem is that the new copy of Windows 7 will not install on my new hard drive.  I get:

Then me to a black screen after I pressed Enter/Ok, who said the following.

Check the presence of the media...

    On IPv4 PXE boot.

If I press F12 on power on, I get a blue box asking me to select a boot device. The only options are:

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller IPv4

Realtek PCIe GBE Family Controller IPv6

and the output by using the arrow keys

How to change the secure boot strategy?  If I do, it means that I can install my 7 can I on my new hard drive? Also, providing that I do, I always will be able to use my Windows 8 OS drive after changing the secure boot strategy?

Any help would be appreciated to greately.

    Hello:

You have to enable the legacy mode and disable start-up secured in the BIOS to be able to install and run W7.

Please see this link to find out where these settings... this references adding a video card, but this is how you change the settings no matter why you need to change.

  • Can not recover! Diagnostic system passed test!

    Hello community,
I tried the systems diagnostic test by pressing F2 on start-past the test and the process drainage but always also tried has not worked. I repeatedly press F11 when I restart the computer, but a white screen with colorful letters and boxes pop up. Anyone able to help me?

Initially, the cell will have the recovery Partition and that would give you an option to create a recovery disk set. If you have not created these recovery discs when the laptop was in working condition we can do right now

From now if you need to recover your laptop through the new operating system, you can check if the recovery Partition

is a condition in a work, or not, if yes you can easily recover/restore your laptop

If the recovery Partition is corrupted

You need to call HP Support and demand for a set of recovery disks, then you can recover/restore your laptop at the earliest

    OR

You need to call Microsoft and buy an operating system with the license key, so that you can recover/restore your laptop at the earliest

I highly recommend you Contact HP Support by phone for assistance without delay

  • New operating system drivers has not transferred

I recently bought a HP Pavilion DV7, product number: LW174UA #ABA of my friend and decided to install a new operating system on it. My boyfriend does me a lot about what was wrong with it, other that he ran a little slow. I thought it was pretty cheap and I could easily throw this topic, rather than use Windows 8.1 Windows 7 x 64 x 64 which he had installed on it earlier and use it as sort of a backup on my desk.

I installed a new copy of Windows 7 Professional x 64 on it, and when the installation is complete, I noticed I could not access the internet or use usb drives. I went into the Device Manager and discovered that a handful of decives had the symbol explanation of warning yellow triangle next to them. I looked the problem quickly and noticed most of them had error Code 28. He told me I need to install the drivers for the parties.

Well, that shouldn't be too difficult. I found the WiFi driver and installed. The problem has been resolved (temporarily) and I could access the internet.

After searching through forums, I discovered that my usb problem can be many different questions. Then, I came to the conclusion that an updated service pack (since I couldn't find the usb drivers) should solve the problem. No, the usb drivers still have not been properly installed. In addition to this, the internet now truns on and outside. I'll have access for a few seconds and then my computer tells me that I have not any conntections.

Is anyone know what I got wrong or where I can find drivers that might solve this problem?

I already went to the site of HP drivers and installed most of the pilots. Things like the finger print scanner, that I am not too concerned by at the moment so I jumped on those.

    Hello:

All the drivers you need are on the support page...

    http://h10025.www1.HP.com/ewfrf/wc/softwareCategory?OS=4063 & LC = on & CC = US & DLC = in & sw_lang = & Product = 5118761 #N503

The problem is one of 3 controllers different usb 3 that could have been used in your machine.

So for all the devices that need drivers, click on each of them and display the ID of the equipment for them.

I will guide you how to find the hardware for the USB controller ID...

Click on the USB controller needing a driver in Device Manager,

Then click on the Details tab in the upper part of the window of the usb controller.

Now, you see a drop-down list of property and it is set by default to the description of the unit.

On this list and select the hardware identification label.

After the first string of characters you see in the window.
