Can Qosmio F60 - I use my another Windows 7 disk to install?

I'll buy a Toshiba Qosmio F60 in the next few days and I have seen that comes with a 64-bit restore partition it is preinstalled with 32-bit. I was wondering if I can use one of my other Windows 7 Home premium 64-bit oem disc for installing windows 7 and use the product key on the back without voiding the warranty and validated it?

Because I like a beautiful clean Windows Installer without all that other stuff like the office tests and oem software.

Don't know if this is the right place or not but just sounded.

Hello

Of course you can install Windows 7 yourself. Nobody says you have to use the preinstalled operating system from Toshiba! ;)

But the product key on the underside of the laptop can't be used with other drives. He touches s an OEM manufacturer and belongs to the Toshiba preinstalled operating system. If you do your own installation, you must have your own key!

In addition, I put t understand why you want to do. The preinstalled operating system contains, as a creator of disc, eco utility, applications etc. Everything you need and what you don t like just uninstall!

    Hi all

Is the remote wireless IR F60 support & if so how I enable it & will be all universal remote control work?
I am using my laptop as a media center & would like to swap between functions without my intervention.

    Thanks lantana aka couch potato

    Hello

Some of the notebooks Qosmio F60 are equipped with a remote control.
Take a look at the front of the laptop.

You will see the communication WLan (LED indicator
Close the light WLAN, you should see a window of irda receiver.
The irda is necessary to receive signals from the remote control.

If your F60 does not support this irda you can not use remote in this laptop.

PS: you can not use any remote. You must use another compatible which can be bought at Toshiba ASP.

  • Where can I find help for games of "MS Entertainment Pack for WIndows (1990). I can't seem to use them on Windows 7, but it can be used on Windows Vista?

I have been using the following games; Taipei (Majongg tiles), Tetris, Golf (cards) and cruel (maps), which came with MS Entertainment Pack for Windows (1990) and who has worked with every version of MS Windows since 95 Windodws. I can use them with Windows Vista but I can't use them on Windows 7, I really enjoy these games and like to use them in Windows 7 and 8.

"All Microsoft Entertainment Pack games work on Windows XP, Vista, Windows 7 and Windows 8, but this only applies to 32-bit versions. The NTVDM allows 16-bit applications run in 32-bit versions of Windows. In the 64-bit versions of these operating systems are 32-bit applications be run in a compatibility layer in the kernel and layer 16 bit must be rewraped, this is why Microsoft has removed the feature. "(from Wikipedia)

It's true. I tested the games ("Best of Windows Entertainment Pack", similar to the MEP even older) on 32-bit Windows 7, no problem. On Windows 7, 64 bit, they don't work (except if try you heavy workaround solutions like running Windows 3.1 on an emulator of BACK, then using this virtual operating system to run games).

Please let me know if this is normal or I don't know.
According to me, I'm being scammed: S

    Anis.

    Hi mate.

First of all, you should take a look in the user manual of your Qosmio F60 and read the entire manual carefully.

You will find information on the laptop and the recovery disks.
The point is that you can create a clean recovery disc using the Toshiba recovery disc Creator called preinstalled tool.
But all this information is in the user manual too.

    Welcome them

Can someone give me a clear solution to this prblem

    Hello

Just a small comment on this: I'm not 100% sure, but AFAIK after Qosmioplayer installation you need to install the operating system. It is not possible to install Qosmioplayer later.

  • Can Qosmio F20-136 - I upgrade to Windows 7?

    Hello

I've owned a Qosmio F20-136 for about 4 years with XP Media Center installed. He and always does a great job despite the 1.6gz processor and 1.5 GB of ram. I was considering upgrading to Windows 7 However after looking I could not find any driver for the model for Windows 7 support.

Could someone help / tell me about that? Obviously I don't want an upgrade disaster!

    Hello

To be honest what do you think about upgrading to Windows 7 on a laptop for 4 years?

In your case I Don t do this upgrade. This computer laptop isn't designed for Windows 7, there are no drivers on the Toshiba site. Just be satisfied with your XP, it runs much faster than Windows 7.

Never touch a running system! ;)

  • How to copy a boot disc for use on another windows xp computer

I have a HP A636N as my backup with windows XP computer.

I update once a month after storage.

My question is I had a breakdown (stuck mouse) and was able to complete the updates.

I had to use the F8 key to load specifications factory because I couldn't restore the system.

My problem is after that I installed all the updates, it's stuck in a boot loop.

I have disabled my Kasperky Security Suite after that service pack 3 has been installed and rebooted.

I got a warning from my database corrupt antivirus now it is stuck in boot loop.

I had to use the F8 key to load specifications factory because I couldn't restore the system.

Please answer all the questions of diagnostic following by number in your very next answer (no need to quote this post):

    1. what application or antivirus security suite is installed and your current subscription?  What anti-spyware (other than Defender) applications?  What third-party firewall (if applicable)?

2 do you have a free trial Norton or a McAfee free trial come preinstalled on the computer when you bought it (and that would have been reinstalled, but invalid, when you reinstalled Windows XP)?

  • Can satellite L350 - I use the the L300 recovery disk?

Mate has a L350 who is tired and unfortunately has no recovery disk. I could use my recovery disc for my L300 model or making worse it?

You can try, but may be missing drivers or it can BSOD according to differences in hardware.

You can run from the HARD drive recovery? Press F8 when Windows starts and choose the option to repair/restore.

Otherwise, you will need to buy a replacement for Toshiba recovery disc.

    Yes, it will work.

  • Can I partition a drive hard once Windows XP Professional is installed

I will get a new computer with XP installed on a 500 GB drive.  Is it possible to partition the drive in 100 and 400 GB so that I can move my data files on the second partition, and thus be able to restore the operating system if necessary without destroyin my data. I have a feeling that partitioning must be done before XP is installed, but I'm not sure.

    Thank you very much

If you drag from left to right or right depends on if you want the unallocated space (where ira your new partition) before or after the partition, you are working on.  As a general rule, it is best to have the system partition (usually C) to near the beginning of the training (i.e. the left end) as possible.  Thus, drag the right edge of the C partition to the left.

It's a bit difficult to describe without drawing but see if that helps-

Suppose you have a 500 GB drive with a 500 GB C partition.  It will look like this:

    CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

Now assume that the amount of "space used" is 80 GB.  The space that is used with "BOLD", your disc looks like this:

    CCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC

Now, you want to create a new partition of 400 GB.  Call the E (because D is your CD player - but the letters can be changed later).  You must resize C to leave space unallocated after him (right).  To do this, drag the right end of the C partition to the left:

    CCCCCCCCCCCCUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU

Now use the unallocated space and make your new partition

    CCCCCCCCCCCCEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE

    Hello

New laptops are available without disk recovery, but with the option of HARD drive recovery. How to install the OS by using HARD drive recovery option, you can find on http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD9102IR0000R01.htm

After completion of the own BONES, please create recovery discs using the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator. These disks can be used if the HARD drive recovery option does not work for some reason any.
