Can satellite A100 (PSAAR) I use another series XP drivers?

Today, I saw that model PSAAR drivers are available for Vista (and other?)

Can I choose 'other' option for Windows XP Home edition or should I wait for a few moments to be sure?

Hello

Of course, you can test another series A100 XP drivers.
Several different laptops series uses the same devices and single pilots must be compatible and should run on other units A100

But why you open new discussions. On this theme, you have already posted twice.

    Hello.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A100-499 with chipset Intel 945 PM and with 1 GB of RAM at 533 Mhz (this is the memory that came by default when it was purchased). I want to upgrade the memory to 4 GB 667 MHz and I saw two Kingston hyperx 2 GB DDR2 - 667 PC2 - 5300 CL4 (KHX5300S2LLK2 / 4G).

I ' w concerned about the compatibility of this memory with my laptop. Memory that is shown in my laptop (KT667D2 / 2G) in the site web of Toshiba is also kingston and technical specifications are similar, but time lag case which I've not been able to verify. I'm looking for the forum and it seems that Toshiba laptops are very delicate with the memory.

Did someone knows or has had experience with this combination? I don't want to spend the money to have to sell it later.

    Hello

Theoretically, you can also use the Kingston HyperX modules. They are very similar to the normal Kingston modules, but they are a little faster. Certain times are may be lower, but this should t be a problem because it will be set automatically from the BIOS.

A good friend of me always is the HyperX modules for its notebooks and there has never been a problem.
In the worst cases the modules don't work, that you can bring it back to the computer store and ask Kingston normal modules.

  • Satellite A100 PSAARE: Toshiba Power Saver + graphics card noise

    Hello

Is there another URL where I can get a version update of Toshiba Power Saver for my computer drivers laptop Satellite A100 PSAARE other than the home page?

It seems that it is not determinative of CPU fan (he always keep at maximum speed).

Also, I noticed the graphics (GeForce 7600) too loud.

If the monitor is off I can't hear it (just the CPU fan), but as soon as I started working it is audible and as a continuous beep kid.

Is there a (software/hardware) fix for this?

    Kind regards.

    Hello

The European driver of Toshiba page is one place where you can get the drivers and tools for your European Satellite A100 PSAARE model.
This time it s a v7.03.07.I Power Saver for Windows Vista!

But I must say that I see no problem of software on your laptop.
Cooling modules and fans have to run with higher performance to make sure that your hardware components may be cooled properly.

Maybe a cooling module cleaning might help to improve the internal cooling and noise reduction.
From time to time, I clean my fans for laptop using compressed air stream and the fans are running more silent.

  • Satellite A100 PSAARA - Boot Fail

    Model - satellite A100 PSAARA-055007
OS - Windows Vista Home Premium 32 bit
    BIOS Version 5.10

    Problem.

The wil laptop no bootinto windows.
POST returns full and then fails to start windows. In the upper left corner of the screen, it shows TBX error.
The lack of loading, he doesn't want to load windows normally or in SafeMode etc...

I tried each of the options without success. Some research has shown that need to Flash the bios with the latest version, because it may be damaged.
I downloaded the latest version of the bios that is V6.00. I extracted the file on another laptop. It burned to a bootable dvd and then tried to run the .exe program, but he could not run. This is due to the program who need to run under win32. I can't run this file on windows because it does not load windows. I have no recovery disk either...

    My questions are

The bios goes to work to solve the tbx error flashing?
If so how do I Flash the bios from a bootable dvd?
If this is not the case, can someone advise please how to do this.

    Thank you very much.

    Hello

I think that new OS install should help you solve this problem.
If you don t have a Toshiba Recovery disc, then try to start from the common drive of Microsoft.
You can also try to boot from a live CD as PartBE or WinPE
Google for it. This allows you to create a live CD that will start the unit without installation of the OS.
This allows you to access the files on the HARD drive.

  • Satellite A100 (PSAARA) - upgrade of RAM possible?

    Hello

Just wondering if I could update my current ram in my laptop Satellite A100 and if so how?

He is currently a Satellite A100 (PSAARA) with 2 GB of RAM.

    Processor: Intel (r) core (TM) 2 CPU T5200 @ 1.60 GHZ 1.60 GHz

    Running Vista 32 bit.

What type of RAM upgrade I could on this system? And what code PIN?
And I know that this may be a shot in the water, but is it possible to update the graphics card at all?

Sorry am new on this... no idea what I'm doing, so if you could help I would appreciate it!

    Thank you

    > And I know that this may be a shot in the water, but is it possible to update the graphics card at all?
No, the graphics card can not be upgraded

    > It's currently a Satellite A100 (PSAARA) with 2 GB of RAM. What type of RAM upgrade I could on this system? And what code PIN?

I think modules laptop use the DDR2 533 MHz (PC2-4200) 200-PIN SODIMM, but AFAIK the 2 GB of RAM is max and this would mean that it of not possible to upgrade to 4 GB or more

But to be 100% sure, you should consult your user manual.

    Hello!

The Ulead DVD Movie Factory and WinDVD, you can download the Toshiba site:
    http://EU.computers.Toshiba-Europe.com-online decision-making supported Downloads & => Download drivers

I never heard of this exclamation point in device, but on the Web site manager you also download all the drivers and installation instructions document where you can see what drivers need to be installed there.
In your case, I would like to reinstall Windows with the recovery disk.

  • CARD reader may not be detected for Toshiba Satellite A100 (PSAARE)

    Hi team,

Please help, as I have Toshiba laptop with model Satellite A100 (PSAARE) which had Vista then I upgraded with Windows XP, now my all software works except the card reader which doesn't detect any card of same SD memmory so that the driver has been installed... Please sat down

Are you certain that the card reader has installed the XP drivers (and they are the exact brand and model of player)?  This is an internal or external card reader?  I suggest that you check with Toshiba to make sure you have all the drivers, firmware, or software required for the card reader (it may just be a pilot - it may need more).  I would also re - download the driver and uninstall the old and reinstall a new where the original has been corrupted for some reason any.  Are you sure that even with the drivers, that this computer model can handle XP completely and that you are not a problem of compatibility (I contact Toshiba Technical Support and confirm what you've done is perfectly possible, including the card reader).

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Satellite A100 (PSAAR) ID_ERR_NOTINSTALLTVALZ_MESSAGE to the VAP configuration

    Hello

I have Toshiba Satellite A100 (PSAAR) and the installation of VAP (value added Package) of the site Web of Support from Toshiba, I get error ID_ERR_NOTINSTALLTVALZ_MESSAGE and then the installation ends.

The proposed solution is to do a BIOS update, and it did not work for me, as I said in the topic (I've updated with bios-20071126124517, which is the package recommended for my laptop model). I use Vista 64 bit in the way, and I try to install VAP to eliminate the unknown hit-and-run driver (TOS1901 if I'm not mistaken) in Device Manager. I worked on this problem for a few days now and I'm really tired, so I need your help as soon as possible.

    Thanks in advance...

    > I'm using 64-bit Vista by the way
Have you tried to install the VAP 32 bit on 64 bit Vista?

If Yes, then I m afraid it won't work, and I guess this is the reason why this error message appears during the installation procedure

  • Satellite A100 PSAAR - the hail its Windows 7

    Hey guys,.

I have a Satellite A100 (PSAAR) that I was running a beta version of Windows 7 on (I had updated to Vista).

When I decided to format it and install a new version of Windows 7, audio has become really intestine.

Is there a driver Toshiba I have not installed... or if anyone else has experienced the same thing?

    Thank you!

    Hello

I doubt that you need no additional driver.
It seems that the sound card is properly recognized in Device Manager. so you don t need the sound card drivers

I think you should check the sound volume control in Control Panel-> sound control.

Check if all controls are set at a higher level

  • You can run this program while using another anti-virus program

You can run this program while using another antivirus program?
I know that it is a matter of end now that MS does not have anyone else.
However, I was going to dnld MS antivirus with Norton market too.

    for example.
    Thank you in advance, Ric.

    Hello Ric Buckmiller,

Thank you for using the Microsoft Windows Vista Forums.

What specific Windows Vista virus protection software are you talking about?  Windows Vista will be usually comes with Windows Defender.  Windows Defender is software that helps protect your computer against the pop-ups, slow performance and threats caused by the software security spyware and other unwanted software to detect and remove spyware on your computer. Windows Defender Protection features in real time, a monitoring system that recommends actions against spyware when it's detected, minimizes interruptions, and helps you to remain productive.  Yes you can use it with antivirus software.

Currently, Microsoft has an antivirus software on beta.  http://www.Microsoft.com/security_essentials/support.aspx
If you have this downloaded, it advised that you can always use another software antivirus at this time.

Or you are referring to Windows LiveOneCare?  Please let us know status.  Thank you!

How to uninstall any other antivirus or firewall program?

Before installing Windows Live OneCare, please make sure that you uninstall completely any existing antivirus or firewall program that may be on your computer.

This step is very important, no matter what protection software you use, because installing one antivirus or firewall program over another on the same computer could potentially lock up the computer.

Note: If you do want to keep the ability to reinstall your old antivirus or a firewall program in the future, make sure you have the original product CD (or a backup program disk) before you begin uninstalling.

  • Can satellite A100-003 - I install Windows 7 32-bit or 64-bit?

    Hello everyone,

I have the Satellite A100-003 and I've been running it with Windows XP since I it (triple). Now I want to install Windows 7 on it, however, I'm confused about what can I install on it.

I have a few places on the Toshiba site, I found that I can install Windows 7 (32 and 64 bit), but I can met some problems with the BIOS, in other places, I tried but could not find the drivers for Windows 7 64 bit.

So what is the case? My first goal is to install windows 7 64 bit, because I have 4 GB of RAM on my laptop, but even the 32 bit would be a better choice than XP right now.
So I can install Windows 7 64 bit on my laptop?

Thanks in advance for any answer!

    Hello

Important before installing another OS, you check the Toshiba driver download page. Satellite A100-003 belongs to the PSAARE series and is therefore not available for Windows 7 drivers. You can only get the drivers for Windows XP and Vista 32 bit.

This means that you can try to install Windows 7 because Vista drivers most also work on Windows 7.
If this isn't the case you find newer drivers yourself, maybe you can find something.
