(Can single or multiple iMovie library I get your help on that)?

I do 7 minute short videos on YouTube/Facebook...

And I want to do a lot every week.

I am concerned about the backup "bloat". Library files can become very large.

And if they get corrupted, I'm toast.

So I thought, "why not create a new iMovie for each video library?

Good idea? Bad?

Any benefits or disadvantages with this method?

Yes you can do it if you want.  You can have as many libraries as you want.  If they use completely separate events there will be virtually no general cool storage to achieve and, as you suggest, you won't 'all your eggs in one basket. "  You can also easily remove or archive them offline if you run out of space.   A film library is perhaps a bit excessive, but it's certainly a good idea for each of them to have only a small number of related projects (at the time, subject or share the same media).

If different libraries share all events can be multiple copies of original media for this event in each library (I say 'may' because I do not know if hard links are used in this case (when libraries are on the same volume) which would result in only one copy of the original media being present.)
