  Below is a long dialogue that I just had with the Technical Support via Chat on access to Camera Raw directly from LightRoom 4.  The end result is that it cannot be done.  LightRoom 4 has its own section of the "Develop" and if you try to "change in: PhotoShop 6" RAW image will bypass Camera Raw and open directly in PhotoShop.»  Something that I was surprised and frustrated by.  I thought for sure I was missing somehting.

  I do not recommend buying LightRoom other than a way to "organize" our images.  I just use Bridgne and am able to open a Raw Canon "CR2" file directly in Camera Raw, and then after my settings directly in PhotoShop.  LightRoom has no layers, paths and channels, and a host of other wonderful adjustment / manipulation capabilities not found in LightRoom.

  So, if you're like me and you want to use Camera Raw before moving to PhotoShop then LightRoom won't succeed you.  I spent a lot of time thinking I must be missing something and then I contacted the Support by Chat and we went through change in %AppData%, which only leads to losing me all my preferences in PhotoShop!  A total waste of technician time and mine.

  The develop module IS Camera Raw. Each control in ACR is identical in the develop module. ACR in Photoshop, at the base, is no longer necessary to interpret the adjustments in Lightroom. If you want to open the file in ACR, in Lightroom, choose Edit in Photoshop as a smart object. • Where Adobe CACHE 8.6 camera RAW update (new!)?

  Starting with version 8.5, my CS6 of Camera RAW version are no longer updated automatically. I can't find anywhere in the download section of the Adobe website update. I found a dark link to the 8.5 update after did a ton of research in June.

  Now, the same problem exists with Camera RAW 8.6! I can get the DNG Converter, but it does include Camera RAW 8.6. If I check updates with Bridge or Photoshop, I told myself that everything is up to date.

  Please give me a SPECIFIC URL where I can download Camera Raw 8.6 for Mac OS.

• How can I copy Camera RAW default to another computer?

  I use Photoshop CS6 and Adobe Camera RAW to process the RAW (D700) files.  I ACR preferences to present ASA specific default values, which means that I have 41 defaults for ACR.  I have a folder of images taken with the D700 that includes an image for each SAA, the camera can select by activating auto ASA in the D700, which is where I have ASA 41 values.  I use pictures in this folder to set a default value for each value ASA then select one at a time in Camera RAW and click to set a new default for ACR (Adobe Camera RAW).  These default values are saved in a location on the computer, but I don't know where.  I would copy these defaults registered to another computer that is also running Photoshop CS6.  Someone knows where are the default values, or is there a better way to accomplish this?

• Why can't update Camera Raw 6.6 via the Help menu?

  I have a Photoshop element 10 (one) purchased on App Store Editor, and now, I'm trying to update Camera Raw 6.6.  After reading Adobe website, suggest they update in the Help menu but problem is that I could not find the update in my help menu.  What I've done wrong?  So I then downloaded 6.6 Camera Raw Adobe website trying to install it manually, and now, I received a message 'Update shall not apply'.  What does this mean now?  Advice please...

  Also, I contacted Adobe via Live Chat, and then I got supporter who asked me serial number only in the case otherwise there is no help.  I then told him, App Store provided not one but seems it is not an index which is App Store and insisted me to contact the store directly to request a serial number.   ???  I tried to explain to him that the App Store is the store where you download the software from the Apple computer online, and it seems to still not understand what App Store is entered into me if I have any other question, I would like to ask?  Great... so I asked him where he is and he replied: 'the India.  Well... I don't know how is the live support chat through the India, but I want a support for a person who knows this as 'App Store '.  His name is vermorel, seems to be a gentle man but...

  You can not update because you have the app store version. Apple does not apps sold through the app store to update anyway, except through the app store, and adobe obviously think we should create a new version whenever there is an update of raw. You can do it manually, but it is quite a pain. The directions are in this thread:

  CHANGE in the way, though I doubt that this will help with technical support (they often seem to miss all PES of their books of script pages), for the version app store your serial number is your apple ID, at least when it comes to the qualification of upgrade pricing and things like that.

• How can I update Camera Raw in Photoshop CC 2014?

  I bought and installed Creative cloud photography Plan two weeks ago.  I Photoshop 2014.0.0 CC release. The Camera Raw plugin is 8.0.0.137 The Creative Cloud Desktop app says that Photoshop CC (2014) is up-to-date. Updates a link in Photoshop > help > updates is greyed. Adobe Web site, it seems that the latest version of Camera Raw is 8.6 Can anyone help me with some thoughts on why I have an earlier and version update to 8.6?

  It turned out that the problem was caused by an enterprise version of Acrobat Pro, which has been granted by Adobe for my PC in my work.  This is in contradiction with the licensed software under the regime of creative photography of cloud and blocking updates.  I was invited to come down from this field of inquiry of this thread:

  Removal of Acrobat Pro has not solved the problem. It took one of the support associated with Adobe to modify some files on the PC.  Now works fine and everything to date.
