Can't burn a CD with SDR2102

My computer does not recognize my CD - RW drive. I can play any audio CD and will read and run any CD, I put in my computer, but when I try to burn a CD it says no CD or recordable DVD's found. I have a Dell Laptop Inspiron 4000, running Windows XP Home Edition and a TOSHIBA CDRW/DVD SDR2102 drive. I tried reinstalling the driver, but he tells me that the driver is up-to-date.

All shown in Device Manager appears as works fine. This system worked well in the past, many CD burning with a couple of different programs. For any help or suggestion would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, Brad

Hello Brad

I put t know how old the player has, but it is possible that the drive is faulty. Usually, the option of engraving went first and the calibration of the laser can not work. If this happens, you can use the drive to read the CD for a while until the reader is completely defective.

    Hello

Having too many CD/DVD programs can cause strange problems, especially if they're loading of parts of
themselves at the start because they will be competing for resources. This does not mean that this issue has been
caused by those, however, it's a possibility depending on which and how many you have installed.

You have disk problems as the CD/DVD is actually 4 discs in 1 case (CD & DVD burning and)
Playback of CD and DVD). So it is not unusual for parts from 1 or 2 to not work so that others do
    correctly.

Burning at low speed, or by using the master could help. A CD/DVD cleaner might help.

Brand of the CD or DVD drive can also be the problem. Low quality (cheap brands) are always problematic.

CD/DVDs have a tolerance + - and your can read/write on the edge outside these discs
tolerances. They may be delivered, but it is generally more economical to replace the disk.

  • Can I burn a DVD with surround sound 5.1 PE10?

I'm experimenting PE10 to see if it does what I want.

I created a small project based on the HD AVCHD 5.1 project preset and have imported a few clips with ac3 for audio files.

When I play the videos in the application, the sound surround works very well.

I burned the project on DVD, but when I play the DVD on my DVD drive (plugged into stereo) I don't get sound no go my surround speakers, only forward and Center/subwoofer speakers.

I tried other presets of project and the creation of a 5.1 audio channel in importing an ac3 file and adding especially tracks.  The problem with this is that the sound surround sound does not work in the application, and I checked the audio preferences and played with the settings.

So, my question is if I can burn a project with 5.1 audio on DVD to be played on a DVD player?

Unfortunately, he cannot encode pre DD 5.1 SS, but only import who and then mixing stereo (2 channels).

PrPro even need optional Minnetonka Audio / over-codes SS SD plugin 5.1 (~ $ 250), do it. PrPro, we can create a DD 5.1 SS DVD or BD, through recall (the included authoring application), but yet will write ONLY the DD 5.1 SS AC3 (through than SurCode plugin) and can not watch the DD 5.1 SS, but PrPro can, so monitoring all should be done before yet. Yet can also write other extra Audio streams, such as DTS, ProLogic, etc., but who MUST be imported into the still and SHOULD be 100% DVD/BD-compliant in all respects.

  • How can I burn a DVD with Dolby Digital 5.1?

    Hello!

    I have a BIG question...

I edited a film in Premiere CS4 and I added Dolby Digital 5.1 working greate in first.

But when I use a dynamic link to Encore CS4, the sound will be in 3.0 for some reason any. And when I burn on a DVD and try it, I hear that sounds of the left front, Center and front right. Why? And how can I solve this problem?

    Thanks in advance

    Hokerberg

You need Minnetonka SurCode SS DD 5.1 plugin for export of PrPro, to get DD 5.1 SS on your DVD in Encore. You have that?

If you don't have it, buy it (~ US$ 250) within PrPro, you will get a discount of the Adobe user above the price on the website.

As Jim points out, you need to export, so that you can encode with the SurCode encoder and then import them into Encore. I always use elementary streams, i.e. a video only and then an audio only 5.1 SS AC3 DD. Mux many files into one.

    Good luck

    Hi guys

    First of all @Ken Roots:
Why you suggest you have the same problem, but when I compare the two messages so I put t see similar problems!

    Now @castor:
In the manual, you should find the media (CD/DVD) that are compatible with your player.
I found some info on the SD-R2102 and it seems that this car doesn t support the DVD + RW!

    Hi Chris

CD and DVD burning and playback with different readers are a never-ending story.
I use an external burner and believe me; I tested more than 10 different media from different manufacturers.
I could burn some media but not read and read but not burn :(
I think you should also test different DVD.

In my manual, I found a list with the CD and DVD compatible. Eventually, you will also find the same list of supported media in the pre-installed user manual you.

    2. the specific issue of burning CD using WMP?

    3. What is the exact full error message?

    4. what you are trying to burn?

Your CD or DVD drive cannot read or write media

    http://support.Microsoft.com/GP/cd_dvd_drive_problems/en-us?EntryPoint=lightbox

    Method 2: Clean the disc

Clean the CD or the DVD. To do this, use a disc cleaning kit. Or gently wipe the silver side of the disc with a soft and Lint cotton cloth. Do not use cloth of paper which can scratch the plastic and leave streaks. When you clean the disc, wipe from the center of the disc outward. Do not use a circular motion. If the problem persists, clean the disc with a damp cloth or a commercial CD or DVD cleaning solution. Dry the disc thoroughly until you insert the disc in the drive.

    1. in the Tools menu, click Options, and then click the devices tab.

I have been regularly using the creation of Windows DVD for burning slide /videos. I had in the past burnt an a project with .jpg images in a collection of slides on a DVD + R disc. =====================================
It is possible that the DVD + RW rewritable is the problem.
Some hardware is not fully compatible with them.

Personally, I did not have much success with DVD rewritable.
Verbatim DVD-R DVD have been reliable for me.

When I need a copy of a home made DVD I create an ISO
Image file... so I can quickly burn as many copies as I need
without loss of time to re-encoding of the project for each
    copy.

First... just a suggestion... using a slow burn speed
    produces a more reliable copy...

The freeware ImgBurn can create an ISO Image
that allows to burn copies. Once you have the
image created... you can use it to burn as many copies
    as you need.

(FWIW... it's always a good idea to create a system)
Restore point before installing software or updates)

Ignore most of the download buttons and click to the left of the
green circle with the white arrow... He says...
