Can't resize object horizontally

For example, in Illustrator 2015 if I draw a circle with the Ellipse tool, using the selection tool I can resize vertically by dragging a handle up or down, but I can't resize horizontally by dragging a handle left or right. Now made an opening in the circle of the right handle and the left handle resizes proportionally (used to be able to resize proportionally by pressing the SHIFT key). I could resize in all directions in the previous versions of Illustrator. Is - it is no longer possible to resize horizontally by dragging the handles left or right with the selection tool?

  • Can't resize object

Hello. I am a beginner Flash user. I build my website using a flash template, that I bought. There is a kind of object (it's called sprite 45) which is like a box (I'll call it the mystery box). There are superimposed on a text with my bio box in the text box. When I run the test for the flash movie, the bio gets up very close. Its width is limited by the mystery box. It is very narrow, barely more than an inch, making it difficult to read the bio. It is possible to scroll the bio up a downstairs, but it is still too narrow. I would like to expand the mystery box. However, unlike the text box, it does not seem possible to do.

I have no idea what a sprite object is, and basically very little idea of what I'm doing. Can anyone help?

Thanks for any help you can give.

Use either transform tool to change the size of your mystery box.

    or

Select it, goto Properties Panel and change its width.

  • I can't resize the frame proportionally and object set and I can not drag and copy objects.

I work with INDESIGN CC 2015 latest version (I've just updated) and on MAC OSX Yosemite 10.10.5

Honestly, this is such a stupid problem, and it should not exist on a first place. BAD BAD BAD ADOBE!

    Hello

two days after, and a new update, it was back again.

I think they were all preferences.

@Rob: I used command-Shift and it always works when the black Selection tool is active. By selecting and dragging to create a copy of the object.

It was just strange and frustrating.

    umangkansagra,

How about Ctrl / Cmd + Shift + B to switch between showing and hiding the bounding box?

Absence of any (other) cause/cure, try the list:

Sometimes, (some) things may fail or stop working for no apparent reason. When (other) possible reasons/remedies do not work, it is perhaps a kind corruption (temporary or permanent), or even preference settings which disturbs, which can be cured with something on the following list put in place in order to provide a catch-all solution for otherwise intractable cases. It starts with a few easy suggestions and safe) 1 and 2) for cases less serious and goes two ways 3) and 4) to reset the default preferences (easily but irreversibly and more laboriously but more completely and also reversible), then follows a list 5) various other possibilities, and it ends with a complete reinstallation 6). If no other suggestion doesn't work, or if no other suggestion appears, you can start on the list and decide how to go or who can apply.

The following is a general list of things, try when

    (A) the question is not in a specific file,

    (B) you have a printer installed, connected and turned on if it's a physical printer (you can use Adobe PDF/Acrobat Distiller as a printer by default without the need to have a printer on, of course you will need to specify when you really need print on paper), and

    (C) It is not caused by problems with opening a file from external media (see below).

You tried/made some of them already; 1 and 2) are easier for temporary strangenesses and 3) and 4) specifically may be corrupted/inconvenient preferences); ((5) is a list in itself and 6) is the last resort.

If possible / there is, you must record a current work first, of course.

    (1) close Illy and open again.

    (2) restart the computer (you can make up at least 5 times);

    (3) close Illy and press Ctrl + Alt + Shift / Cmd + Option + shift during startup (easy, but irreversible);

    4) move the folder (follow the link with this name) with closed Illy (more tedious but also more thorough and reversible), for CS3 - CC you can find the file here:

    https://helpx.Adobe.com/Illustrator/KB/preference-file-location-Illustrator.html

    5 look through and try the relevant among the other options (click on the link with that name, item 7) is a list of the usual suspects among other applications which can disturb and confuse Illy, point 15) applies to the maybe CS5, CS6 and CC);

    Even worse, you can:

6 (A) uninstall (check the box to delete the preferences, if any), B) run the cleanup tool (if you have CS3/CS4/CS5/CS6/CC) and C) reinstall. It is important to use this step three way: otherwise, things may persist.

  • With the help of Ia 3 - I can't resize all select objects

    Don't know what happened, but...

When I click on an object, I am unable to adapt to the size.  I tried the selection tool and the direct and same selection tool problem.

I can move the object, but it can not resize.

    help please - everyone

My guess is that you just want to drag a handle with the selection tool, but that seems not work. No doubt the framework encompassing has been disabled. Go to the VIEW: see the bounding box. then give it a try. If it says "Hide encompassing" then I'm dead wrong and just ignore me.

  • Can't resize an object with the Selection (black arrow) tool?

If called on an object, I am suddenly unable to resize it by dragging one of its corners with the selection tool.

The object is not locked. The layer which is the object is not locked. I can only move the object.

If I use the transformation tool, I can also resize, but not with the black arrow by dragging its corners.

    What could cause this problem?

I read in this form of stimulus Illustrator command-Option-shift key. It solve my problem?

    View > Show Bounding Box - or - shift + command + B

  • disable by program "resize objects.

I have a program that fits very well with some screen resolutions, I the "scale all the objects on the façade" selected. Is there a way to disable this option programmatically? I would like the user to be able to make the window smaller if you wish, but force the window to achieve if it is small enough.

    Desire:

    (1) to start the program: expanded PS, objects of scale to allow different resolutions

    (2) the user resizes the window, turn off "resize objects with the size of the window. Keep the current sizes and spacing, forcing the user to scroll.

    Thank you!

I think you can accomplish your desired behavior with a combination of the Panel Resize event and the method of the scale:

  • Since I've updated, I can't resize rectangle shapes.

Since I've updated, it seems I can't resize rectangles or rounded rectangles of edge more.  The bounding box is not present, only the nodes to round the corners.  Only, this seems to be the case for the shapes rectangle, ellipse and other polygons are not affected.  Have they changed something and it is a feature, or is this a bug?

I tried restarting and all that, it always happens across many files.  Help!

Seems to be a bug. Try to convert the Rectangle to live at a dead using the object > break down.

Unfortunately, none of the above worked. However, I downloaded a file recommended by Flight1 (the creators of one of the 2 games I had problems with) surprisingly, thisinstantly solved the problem it is called http://www.flight1.com/dx7vb.exe.

Perhaps in the future someone else have this same problem with Vista 64-bit where the game, they could also try this "correction". Of course, it worked for me!

Thank you very much for your help & trouble in front of me, it is appreciated.

  • Automation server can't create object

Under Windows XP Home Edition, access user accounts in Control Panel.  Then I select "change the way users log on and out" and the error message "Automation server can't create object ' results."  How can I fix?

This response helped me a solution.  I tried and it did not fix the problem, but it changed the error message (a message about a recently installed program has disabled the Welcome screen and the fast change).  I remembered having seen that elsewhere in this forum, I went and found that.  He spoke a * GINA. DLL and suggested he remove the registry (to Computer\HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows NT\Current Version\Winlogon).  When I did (after properly backing up the registry, of course), voila! My problem has been resolved.  So thank you all!

If you are running Windows XP... it is a free software

Choose resize images in the menu. You

Sometimes the only resizing is not the answer because the
the original size is different from the print size.

You may need to crop photos to the size you want
print to ensure that no clipping will occur. Cropping
to a different aspect ratio will lose some parts of the picture but
at least you have control over it.

Windows Live Photo Gallery is a cropping tool.
