Can you reduce the icons to the taskbar in Windows 7?

I install my programs preferred on a new computer, put it on the taskbar, and it's fill to the top.

I want to make each smaller icon/tile - that is to say, each a little more thin.  In terms of width, it seems that the icon itself occupies about half the space.  I would like to get rid of some of the lost space.

I already use small icons.

You can use smaller icons. The taskbar right click and choose Properties. Put a check mark in the box next to small icons.

Can you assign the time of windows logon minutes rather than hours?

If you are referring to the TIME parameter net user, which is limited to increments of one hour.

If you want to control (and the ability to force logoff as well), you will need to use a third party software.  Access Boss a 15 minute granularity.  I'm sure like many other applications, probably some of free.

If you only want to restrict Internet access (rather than access to the computer itself), your router may be able to restrict access with granularity to minutes.  "Parental control" software, such as NetNanny, also restrict Internet access, although that usually not at the minute.

How can I change an icon in my taskbar in Vista

Thank you. I placed the folder on my desktop and then changed the icon. Then I moved the icon (which did NOT show the new icon - just a file photo), to the quick launch. I think I just clicked and clicked on properties and then the icon HE chose displayed, I clicked on it Ant then display many icons displayed and then I found the icon who had chosen before was in the displayed list. Then clicked on it and then apply and it worked. Without doing this way many icons display never came and I didn't and still don't know why. But with your recommendations, I was somehow able to change the icon. Thank you for your help.

  • Cannot access pc settings and can not unlock the taskbar? (Windows 8)

This morning I turned on my pc and noticed that the lock screen had changed, so I logged in and then I realized all my apps on the home screen had been removed even those provided with windows 8, such as news and sports, even the tile Office had gone. I finally managed to get on the desktop and everything blew my taskbar, so I tried to unlock it, but whenever I did it automatically locked again. Then, I found refreshing the pc would be a good idea, but I can't even on the pc settings. I opened to the top of the sidebar, then click on change pc settings, but absolutely nothing happens, can someone please help soon!

    Hello

    Thanks for the reply.

I appreciate your efforts to solve the problem.

I suggest you to check if the problem occurs in a new user account.

    Create a user account
    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/create-user-account

If the problem does not exist in the new user account, you have damaged user profile. You can follow the procedure to resolve a corrupted profile.

Copy old files to the new profile:

    a. go to C:\Users\Corrupted_Profile_Name\. The name of the profile will be the corrupted ProfileName.

    b. copyall files.

    c. Open Panel and the display of folder options uncheck Hide protected operating system files.

    d. navigate to C:\Users\Corrupted_Profile_Name and copy the Appdata folder.

Note: Do not copy these three files. NtUser.dat, NtUser.ini, NtUser.log.

    e. navigateto C:\Users\New_Profile_Name\.

    f. Paste all files here.

Hope this information helps. Answer the post with an up-to-date issue report to help you further.

  • How can you get the screenshot on Windows 8?

I wonder how to take a screenshot on Windows 8.

    Please help me!

    Hello

As on all other versions of Windows, print screen will have a snapshot of your desktop, and Alt + PRTSCN will take a snapshot of your current active window. Of course, you can then paste it into a program like paint to go ahead and save it.

    Kind regards

  • I can't unlock the taskbar

I can't unlock the taskbar in Windows 7 64 bit computer.  Locking/unlocking button is not lit. Always off in the administrator account.  Lock Taskbar Start menu taskbar in GPEDIT.msc was found in "not configured"and all other settings. "  I can find no settings change locked status of the to-do bar.   Help!

It seems that some changes have been made in the register. If you are not sure then:

Open the Registry Editor (Star > run > regedit > enter)
In the Registry Editor window, navigate to the following key:
    HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
(Do not go to "run" folder. Click on the file in Explorer). In the right pane you get a few keys (two or three) if there is a key named LockTaskBar and then right click > click on edit and then set the value to 0.
If you cannot find something here, then move to the following key:
    HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
See here if you get a key named LockTaskBar and then right click > click on edit and then set the value to 0.
Note: be careful when you edit the registry. Serious problems can occur if you modify the registry incorrectly. Therefore, make sure that you proceed with caution.

  • Gmail button (in internet explorer) keeps having moved to the right in my taskbar when I wasn't staying on the left (that's why I first open). How can I get the taskbar buttons to stop randomly to reorganize and stay in order?

Gmail button (in internet explorer) keeps having moved to the right in my taskbar when I want to keep it on the left (that's why I first open).  How can I get the taskbar buttons to stop randomly to reorganize and stay in order?  I'm talking about the buttons on list of my open applications and documents in Windows Vista.  The bar tasks are "locked", but the button of the window open with gmail in internet explore reappears suddenly in the good moments apparently random.

It is in the middle part of the taskbar (what I found online so far is on the start menu, the quick launch area or area/system tray of notification, the location of the taskbar in full, either about grouping taskbar - I disabled because I would like to separate).  Can anyone help?  I don't understand why this is happening (or why microsoft would never do).

Lock the taskbar that it prevents to be moved elsewhere on the office and maintains the different sections where they are - it does not block the tabs showing what is open where they were when they were opened.  There is no control for this function.  Maybe if you uncheck similar taskbar buttons group it will help, but I honestly don't know (and fear he won't make any difference - it may even make things worse).  This also happens to me and I was unable to find an answer.  I think that there are more than just random, but I can't telll you why he moves the legs periodically (sometimes it works fine all day and other days it happens almost immediately).  But still, there is no control for this function, so there is no way to tell him to keep a specific order or to lock an established order, once it has been created.  I suspect that it happens because the notification area icons appear and hide and new programs open and close and which changes the amount of space available and so he rearranges things so that they match and apparently does not always consider the original sequence in which the elements have been added.  Maybe if you remove the Quick Launch toolbar and then add again, the order will reset (but that I know not - probably not in the original sequence, which I doubt is logged nowhere - it did not work when I tried it).

Unfortunately, I don't have a solution to this problem (and I spend a little time looking for even before myselff posed the question) and do not believe that there is a.  It is also unfortunate that you can't move them so they can be put back in the right order if they change.  I don't think that there is nothing wrong with your system or that it is something that can be repaired or fixed - it's just the way it is and we just have to live with it.  I don't know any 3rd party software that controls the order of tabs open in the taskbar program (but you can check out Bing, Gooogle,www.tucows.comand www.download.com to see if I'm wrong on this - here n "t all when I looked trying to solve this problem for my own system).

I'm sorry it wasn't what you wanted to hear, but it's like that.  I don't know if it's different in Windows 7.

    Good luck!

  • How can I get the taskbar to show when I want to use?

In many programs, the taskbar disappears from the bottom of the screen.  Sometimes I need to use an icon that sits on the bar spots.  How can I get the taskbar to show when I want to use an icon on this subject?

What are 'many programs' to make it happen?  If you are using "full screen", you must leave this mode, usually by pressing F11 or ESC key.

If it's really just the text that seems really strange.  I repeat what you have already done, copy items to a tim in a new file, and then save after each copy and monitor the size of files.  When you see the file size jump exceptionally fast, do NOT save the new file, and focus on the issue.  What are the benefits?  You paste images into a table as a background fill?

  • How can I move the taskbar back to the bottom?

Help please. How can I move the taskbar to back down on the side?

    Hello

    try to do this:

    To unlock the taskbar

Right-click an empty space on the taskbar. If Lock the taskbar has a check mark next to it, the taskbar is locked. You can unlock it by clicking Lock the taskbar, which removes the check mark.

    To move the taskbar

Click an empty space on the taskbar, and then hold down the mouse button as you drag the taskbar to one of the four edges of the desktop. When the taskbar is where you want it, release the mouse button.

    Note

To lock the taskbar into place, right-click an empty space on the taskbar, and then click Lock the taskbar so that the check mark appears. Locking the taskbar helps prevent it being moved or resized accidentally.
