Cannot be associated .acsm Digital Editions

Recently, I've been unable to get the books from the library and was able to diagnose that Adobe Digital Editions was not linked to the .acsm (the format used by our library for eBooks).  When I go to the control panel and try to set it in "Default programs", it simply doesn't work.  I go to DigitalEditions and then say open and closed the window navigation, but it doesn't add DigitalEditions optional.  Any help is appreciated.

Right-click on the file.

Choose the Point to open with

If a digital edition under "choose the program by default...". »

Under option more to choose the way of the Digital Edition and choose the Digital Edition.exe.

Then click ok and try if works.

  • downloaded document cannot be opened in Adobe Digital Editions, the error is #2038

I downloaded a document for Adobe Digital Editions, but it cannot be opened, error is # 2038, what to do?

    @

    Hi minczel,

The #2038 error indicates that ADE didn't get to the activation server. This usually occurs due to a system or application level Firewall deny access to the site of activation Adobe (http://adeactivate.adobe.com/adept/)

Try to disable the firewall and check.

The e_auth_not_ready can be fixed by removing your permission (Yes you have an even if it does not appear) and then reauthorizing. After the launch of ADE, press CTRL + SHIFT + D and say yes to delete authoriztion. Then go in and reqauthorize your computer. You can also connect all devices and remove and reauthorize them.

I found this in one of the forums.

  • Try to download the Digital Editions ebook, but its going to Acrobat Reader DC.

I use Kobo for years now and every time there is an update of Adobe, I'm losing a hell of a lot of time trying to make Digital Editions works again.

This time around - download the ebook and instead to go to Digital Editions, Acrobat Reader DC opens and I get the following message

Of course, that it does not open - great Scott!   I don't see how I can get it to open and load in Digital Editions.

    Any ideas - anyone?

I think very bad thoughts on Adobe right now!

It seems that your 'association'.acsm file with ADE has been lost.  In windows 7, click Start, then programs by default then associate a type of file or Protocol with a program.  Select the CMHA and change the program default for ADE.

  • I can't allow my computer to the Adobe Digital Editions software

I tried to allow my computer to the Adobe Digital Editions software, but I get an error message saying that I can't use an ID that has already been used to allow another device (I have already authorized my laptop with this ID). The error message is meaningless for me, because the question of authorization must be able to read books on several devices.

When I try to open my e-book without permission, I get the error E_LIC_ALREADY_FULFILLED_BY_ANOTHER_USER so that's not an option either.

Can someone please help me solve this problem?

    Thank you in advance!

    For authorization, see below.

BUT if you already have access to new books while unauthorized control point 2 FRONT REAUTHORIZATION

otherwise, you can regain access to old books, but forever of losing access to the news.

    1) ~~~~~

ADE has sometimes its registration/activation confused and in a semi-autorise State.

Uninstalling and reinstalling does not help, and indeed installation can even trigger this State.

Unfortunately, he then often misleading gives the error messages about what is wrong.

A common incorrect message informs that the ID is already in use on another computer and cannot be reused.

    Another is "E_AUTH_NOT_READY".

This can often be solved by removing completely any authorization by using ctrl-shift-D to the library screen on ADE (cmd-shift-D on Mac).

Restart the ADE and then reauthorize with your Adobe ID (old)

In extreme cases on the mac, the next step has helped some people.  Navigate to / Users / / Library/Application Support/Adobe/Digital Editions and drag the activation.dat file to the trash. If you use 10.7, see library user access hidden files. Mac OS 10.7 Lion. http://forums.Adobe.com/thread/1265248?TSTART=0

    2)  ~~~~

Run without authorization is a vicious trap that Adobe has unsuspecting customers.

They give warnings very soft, but not nearly strong enough.

When you register "without ID", ADE creates an anonymous/default ID limited powers (for example cannot be used to share with other devices).

Whenever you first load a book DRM, this copy of the book is related to whatever the computer identifier is registered at the time.

Any book that you load this anonymous ID is active gets associated with that ID, and can be played on any other device.

When you successfully register your computer with a real identification, this old anonymous ID is lost.

Now you have not all devices that can read the book.

The only way I know round, is to use a DRM stripper like epubee before remove you the device.

I do NOT advocate using this code to work around the valid limitations placed on a DRM book.

However, when the problem arises only because of the ineptitude of Adobe ADEPT DRM infrastructure and its implementation.

such a measure is totally justifiable.
