A that someone has experienced the same problem? y at - it the possibility to solve this problem?

I also noticed that if any usb cd/dvd-rom is present, the bios boot options show all cdrom option in the start menu

Thank you

Hello!

Well, to me it sounds like it's the Linux boot disk isn't working properly if you can start the Toshiba Recovery disk successfully.
Have you tested the same disk of Linux to another computer or laptop?

In your case, I would try to burn the Linux disk again and use high quality as Verbatim DVD - R or TDK media.
Never had any problems with the two manufacturers.

Good luck!

    Hello

so far, I found no way to start an on-line system to a bootable USB key with a linux operating system installed.
It is for sure a bios issue and the choice of preferences. Maybe someone has a solution for this problem!

    It's a P70 - A - 11N Notebook Toshiba

Thank you very much in advance

    Hello

I never tested the P70 - A myself, but I'm sure it will be able to boot Linux Live glue.
Please consider what applies in your case:

-your computer running Win 8.X (or upgraded from Win8.X to Win10) at the present time? If so, you probably use UEFI and secure boot.
-you use an able to start with active secure boot Linux dist? End tracks major distributions such as Ubuntu and Fedora (and probably many others!) can start with active secure boot.
S ' Please keep in mind that victory 8.X can be a bit tricky. Cold boot (power off boot), it normally (it's adjustable in power management, so that it is not written in stone!) the unit will not worry if there are other bootable media from the unit (such as a USB key). Or he'll care for your F12-pressings reach the start menu.
To get the start menu, you should let Windows start on a connection or a desk. Then select restart.
The operating system stops and the device will restart. When this happens, you have to be quick and press F12 repeatedly to interrupt the boot process.
Look at the screen. As soon as TOSHIBA logo appears, press F12 repeatedly.
You should get the boot menu.

    I hope this helps!

When I get a USB drive, WMP scans the disc to add media items to the library. It takes resources and would prevent me from disassembly of the drive. I would like to than WMP to analyze only the selected folder listed in the watched folders option. Which I disable everything except my personal music folder.

Go to Options - devices , the USB of WMP key should be in there when it is mounted. Double-click it, uncheck start synchronization when the device connects , and then click OK . Who help me? Tim Baets

However, when I insert the recovery DVD and choose to boot from the CD/DVD get them all is a loading bar that turns to a black screen with the white cursor. It's her!

    Can anyone suggest a solution?

  • Satellite 5205-s705: How can I boot from the CD/DVD drive

I can't run Setup from my cd/dvd rom, there is no such option in the BIOS Setup. How can I boot from the cD or DVD?
    Please, help me!

    Hello

You are not able to boot from the CD/DVD drive?
If you are unable to change the boot order in the BIOS, I would advise you by pressing the F12 key immediately after starting the laptop.
A start menu should appear, then you should be able to choose the reader of CD/DVD (ODD).

You can also try clicking on the C instead of the F12 button. The C button the STRANGE start.

    Check this back and forth!

    Good luck

  • No option to boot from the CD/DVD-ROM in the BIOS

    Hi all

I was pleased to receive my computer H8-1485EA this week!

I entered the BIOS setup by (by pressing F10) to allow booting from a device of type CD. I changed the boot order so that my DVD SATA drive was the head of the list. When I tried to boot from a CD, I got a starting message startup security protection has been activated and prevented me to boot from the CD. I entered the BIOS again and disabled security start-up (by entering a code) and booted from the CD. Unfortunately the I was booting from a disk to answer stopped, so I ejected it.

Some time later, I decided to reactivate security startup in the BIOS. I did it successfully, however, my SATA DVD drive has disappeared from my list of boot device. It is still detected by the BIOS and will appear in the Windows Device Manager. It is also absent from the startup list when I press F9 to start.

All the tips are greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This may not apply to your case, but here goes: I about went crazy looking for the (HP Envy Phoenix) option in the UEFI BIOS to boot from my Blueray disc. I tried to put the Blueray disc to start first in the boot order, but I couldn't find that he listed in the BIOS. (My computer is 2 days old, straight from the factory. Reads Blueray disc under the operating system very well). Turns out I had to insert a floppy in the Blueray to energize, then restart the computer, then go into the BIOS and - magically - BIOS now showed my Blueray and I was able to boot from it.  (In the past I have configured all my computer equipment statically in the BIOS and it al showed there and he was.) I had never seen one * new * material option appears in the BIOS that did not previously exist. That is until I met the Phoenix BIOS)

  • Boot from the CD/DVD drive

  • Satellite A105 boot up from the HARD drive, no floppy drive or CD-ROM

Even after C - MOS set up, system boot from HDD, no floppy drive, or a CD-ROM.

Is there a specific setting to set these controls in the model of Satellite A-105?

    Hello

Do you mean an external floppy drive and external drive CD-ROM or one which is integrated?

If you want to boot from the internal CD-rom drive if you have 3 possibilities.

    1. change the boot order in the BIOS to CD player
    2. by pressing the C key immediately after starting the laptop
    3. by pressing the F12 key immediately after your laptop to go and choose the CD drive

I think you should also be sure that you want to boot from the bootable CD.
If the CD is not bootable you will not be able to boot from the drive.

PS: If you want to boot from the floppy drive you can press on instead of the C button U key
