Cannot comment on or like on Facebook using an older version of Firefox.
Whenever I try to like something on facebook, nothing happens, and when I try to comment, if I write more than the small chatbar existing, it will not scroll to allow me to see what I'm typing. When I type entered for the comment, it does nothing.
I'm afraid that Facebook does not work for me because of my old firefox version (3.6.28), but I can not upgrade to a newer version because of the age of my computer (OSX 10.4.11), and I'm not able to get a new computer right now, so I'd like to see if I can find a solution.)
I tried to clear my cookies and cache, I checked my plugins for problems, including "Effective Community measure Plugin 3.1.0 (by effective measure Pty Ltd)" mentioned in another thread (it wasn't) and people with disabilities those he listed as being known to cause problems. I checked to make sure that my JavaScript is updated and activated. I tried to disable all add-ons and some possible combinations, some turned off. I tried adding a cookie for Facebook authorization. So far, none of these fixes have been effective. I could not try the troubleshooting mode safe, as the ability to run mode without failure is not listed in the drop-down Help menu.
I have not tried that someone knows the problem, or my browser is all just too outdated?
I don't know what are the versions of Firefox, they test against Facebook. It is certainly possible that some of the scripts have been updated so far that they have become incompatible. Might need to ask this question to Facebook.
However, first of all, you are testing in a clean profile. This work around your accumulated customizations and extensions and will give a more true answer "is the problem version 3.6? A new profile will also be fresh data bases of completely fresh settings and a cache folder.
Exit Firefox and starts in the Profile Manager, as described in the management profiles. Any time that you want to switch between profiles, exit Firefox and return to this dialog box.
Any difference in the works of FB? If the problems are resolved in a clean profile, you could experiment with the settings module and see if this could be a problem.

It is a problem with all the extra steps with the question you can imagine. I tried from scratch with Firefox, not working, more like 52 card pick up... if you know this game.
I want a solution if you have a. Thank you.I had the problem solved. Thank you for your help. I had to get help from an engineer, I know. It's fast enough, but it looked like he deleted the old and installed the new and it seemed that perhaps the launch could have the issue? Not exactly, it's almost as if the launch was set for the old version... but don't want to send someone on the cause of the bad way, I don't know, but he later installed to firefox 38.1 or another... the 29. SOLVED. Thank you for taking the time to help. It was frustrating problem.

I was just on a genealogy site accessed via Firefox when a pop-up window appeared and informed me that I was using an out of the version of Firefox and I should click here to download a new one.
What is a real request or a scam any?
If you get a pop-up message asking to put plugins or Firefox updated or anti-malware analysis then this message probably is a scam and you should never respond to such reporting to avoid being infected by malware.
- Don't update Firefox via "> about" or by downloading and installing Firefox from Mozilla and server never using a popup or a link on a web page.
- Plugins should be updated only through the plugin itself, or by visiting the home page of the plugin.

For a new project, we have to use Firefox 3.6, but we are Mac OS 10.4.11 and cannot upgrade the browser. Can move us on to Firefox 3.6 if we first upgrade to Mac OS 10.5? Basically, we need to use a Firefox updated to work on this project. Our new computers running the latest Firefox but are not compatible with the implementation of our customers. Thanks for the help.
Firefox 4 versions and more late do not run on a PowerPC Mac and require at least OS X 10.5 and an Intel Mac.

I'm under Firefox 9.01 yet my home page says that I use an older version?
I have re-installed 9.01 several times but my home page has not been updated to the new version and there is an error message that I am not using the current version, but if you go to help on firefox it says it's 9.01
It - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Page to start Firefox used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox. I think that Google assumes that you are using an older version of Firefox, as they hard-coded message 'upgrade' in this page - all versions of Firefox see this message.
From version Firefox 4, Firefox uses a 'local' with the address Start Page of Subject: House. It looks like the old start Page, but this isn't exactly the same thing.

Sites like Pandora and gmail keep telling me that I use an older version of Firefox. So I followed their links to update, download the latest version and run it from my downloaded programs. But it doesn't seem to work as the sites always give me the same message.
Something that you have changed your User Agent or prevents your User Agent to update with the new installation/update of Firefox. I suspect it's Fast Browser Search, which is shown as part of the User Agent. To get rid of Fast Browser Search do the following:
- Closing of Firefox (Firefox button > exit OR File > Exit)
- Open the Windows XP Control Panel and remove/uninstall "Fast Browser search protection" and "Fast Browser Search" (MyWebTatoo)
- See-> http://support.microsoft.com/kb/307895

He said: I use an old version of firefox, when I have the most recent version.
Each Web sites (including Firefox.com...yet) tells me that I use an older version of the browser, but I don't know that I'm under Firefox 10.0 (the latest version at the moment).
Hello
This could be because the browser user agent has been overridden/corrupted by an add-on or manually. You can try of the reset.
Type of topic: config in the address bar (address), press on enter twice and start typing useragent in the filter: on top.

During his visit pandora.com recently, it asked me to update the browser more recent. I did it several times and that the (pandora) and your site continue to tell me that I'm not using the latest version of firefox. I don't understand. am I missing something simple? Help, please.
Your User Agent string shows you are using Firefox 3.5.5. This is the older way. The latest version is Firefox 7.
Perform the steps in the section reset your User Agent in say Firefox is obsolete or incompatible, even if it's the latest version of Web sites
Check and tell if its working.

I automatically update my Firefox, but some Internet sites say resolutely I use an "outdated browser", such as Youtube, Myspace, Bandcamp and even (I just discovered) Feedback of Firefox own link. They make an assumption based on the fact that I still use Windows XP, or is there something - a framework, perhaps - that I can adjust? Troubleshooting info I pasted below, it looks like the line "User Agent" is the problem. But what I do about it?
Try resetting your user agent string.
Type of topic: config in the address bar and press to enter. Accept the warning message that appears, this will take you to a list of preferences.
In the top search box, type general.useragent
Right-click on each entry that appears and select Reset, this will set the value to the default value. If it is already set to the default value reset option will be grayed out.
Restart Firefox and it should properly identify your version of Firefox.
