I'm under Firefox 9.01 yet my home page says that I use an older version?
I have re-installed 9.01 several times but my home page has not been updated to the new version and there is an error message that I am not using the current version, but if you go to help on firefox it says it's 9.01
It - http://www.google.com/firefox - is the old Page to start Firefox used by the Firefox 3.6 and earlier versions of Firefox. I think that Google assumes that you are using an older version of Firefox, as they hard-coded message 'upgrade' in this page - all versions of Firefox see this message.
From version Firefox 4, Firefox uses a 'local' with the address Start Page of Subject: House. It looks like the old start Page, but this isn't exactly the same thing.

I installed Firefox 8.01 (later today), but on my home page, it is still saying 'you are not on the latest version of Firefox. Update today to get the best of the Web! "What gives?
Even if your useragent was OK in Firefox 8.0.1 this old Firefox home page hosted by Google would always give you this message.
The www.google.com/firefox/ was an old used before Firefox 4.0 default home page and is not maintained by Google more. To ignore this message or change your home page to Subject: House if you want even a another page or leave blank for no home page.

For a long time keep saying looks like to your using an older version of Firefox. Several times I tried to install Adobe Flash plug-in, both with Firefox and the Adobe site. I'm on Linux 32-bit, 64 no, details, that I find are for 64 bit.

It's fast enough, but it looked like he deleted the old and installed the new and it seemed that perhaps the launch could have the issue? Not exactly, it's almost as if the launch was set for the old version... but don't want to send someone on the cause of the bad way, I don't know, but he later installed to firefox 38.1 or another... the 29. SOLVED. Thank you for taking the time to help. It was frustrating problem.

Text looks washed out when I launch Firefox or return to the home page.
When I start Firefox, the text on my home page looks like it is washed out or as when a printer is out of black ink and print only the color. If I update then everything is normal. I found that it only does so with Firefox. IE and Chrome are ok. I tried safe mode and removed my extensions one at a time, and she always does.
Try turning off hardware acceleration:
Try disabling graphics hardware acceleration. As this feature has been added to Firefox, it has gradually improved, but there are still some problems.
You will have to perhaps restart Firefox for it to take effect, so save any work first (e.g. you compose mail, documents online that you are editing, etc.).
Then perform the following steps:
- Click on the orange top left Firefox button, then select the 'Options' button, or, if there is no Firefox button at the top, go to tools > Options.
- In the Firefox options window, click the Advanced tab, and then select 'General '.
- You will find in the list of parameters, the checkbox use hardware acceleration when available . Clear this check box.
- Now restart Firefox and see if the problems persist.
In addition, please check the updates for your graphics driver by following the steps in the following knowledge base articles:

26 of Firefox does not load the home page. Instead, it load the previous session, regardless of what has been entered in 'Options '. The browser runs in Win 7.0 64 bit; Norton Internet Suite 21 provides security features. There are some solutions 'cloud', also running as Google Drive, box, Skydrive and Cubby. The browser behaves in the same way in all my machines (installation and the OS is similar to that described above) and no amount of reset 'Options' seems to affect it. Nor is it affected by the way that Firefox is closed. This is obviously a bug that should be fixed.

I wonder if these sites are trying to make me download malware or virus. If I go to the Firefox site and it says that I use the most recent version, I think Mozilla tells me and wonder "why a site told me that I have to update? I hope only that Mozilla and not blindly download something without studying. Am I paranoid?
No, it's a scam which is the link to the site, mozilla does not use a site to ask you to update, it uses an automatic update.

I've recently upgraded to Version 8.0.1 but when I launch Firefox home page tells me.
You are not on the latest version of Firefox. Update today.
When I open Firefox that says;
"Firefox is updated.
It doesn't seem to be the source of other problems, but something is clearly wrong.Hi aidanmac,
Looks like you probably have the most recent version. I found this post by cor - el which explains what is happening:
«This text on execution of is not the latest version of Firefox is hardcoded on the site www.google.com/firefox that previous Firefox used as well as the Google homepage seems not to want to keep this page more.»
The current versions of Firefox is no longer use this site of Google as home page, but use the build-in on: home page as the home page.
So Google assumes that you are using an older version of Firefox if you still visit this site and warns on the subject and invite you to update.
You can use a different page than the homepage as subject: House or www.google.com or www.google.com/ig (iGoogle). » -
