Cannot connect to my admin account and cannot change my standard user to the admin account

I have 2 log ons, as administrator and the other is a standard user. Something happened that doesn't allow me to connect to the admin. Profile, but I can't the standard user and when I go to user accounts and you're trying to change that one to the admin. privileges, it doesn't let me change the account type. I recently purchashed Defender Pro 15 in 1 more all-inclusive anti-virus. Previously I was using Avira Antivir free House as my anti virus with no problems for a year or two, but then this happened if I installed the Defender but I can't access to half of what I need to do is no not Admin, any help would be greatly appreciated!

  1. Restart your computer.
  2. When the computer starts, you will see your computer hardware are listed. When you see this information begins to tap theF8 key repeatedly until you are presented with theBoot Options Advanced Windows Vista.
  3. Select the Safe Mode option with the arrow keys.
  4. Then press enter on your keyboard to start mode without failure of Vista.
  5. To start Windows, you'll be a typical logon screen. Connect to your computer and Vista goes into safe mode.
  6. Do whatever tasks you need and when you are done, reboot to return to normal mode.

    As you don't declare that you tried, I am unable to say where you went wrong. Here is a method to promote the accounts without going through the various GUI screens:
    1 restart in SafeMode with network.
    2. log on as an administrator.
    3. click on start.
    4. type the three letters cmd in the search box.
    5. press on Ctrl + Shift + Enter
    6. click on "run as Administrator".
    7. type the following commands and press ENTER after each:
    NET user
    (This will show you all existing accounts)
    net localgroup administrators 'xxxx '.
    (This will encourage user xxxx to Administrator status. Replace xxxx with the correct name account).

    If your wife was using his account with "computer administrator" privileges, and then use the built-in account named "Administrator".

    By default, the built-in account named "Administrator" doesn't have a password.  If you have XP Pro, you can access the administrator account (with no other connected users) Welcome screen by pressing CTRL + ALT + DELETE twice to bring up the "classic" logon window  Enter the administrator user and leave the password empty box.

    In XP Pro or XP Home, you can access the administrator account by restarting mode without fail (repeatedly press F8 to leave immediately after the computer starts / restarts; if you see the Windows logo, you waited too long and you will need to try again).  Once Windows starts in Mode safe mode, the administrator account will appear on the Welcome screen.

    Once you are in the administrator account, go to control panel > user accounts to reset the password of an account with "computer administrator" privileges or create a new user account with privileges "computer administrator."

    If the password that you lack to the built-in, ' administrator' account politics of Microsoft for these forums forbid us to provide you with any information that might help you to bypass this password.

    RA media server became administrator after changing my standard user account. Now, I can not retrieve my admin rights because he kept asking admin password that I don't know. System Restore didn't help coz' it was not far enough for the moment I changed my standard user account.

  • Cannot turn on UAC and can't change my Standard user to administrator

    I get a few programs my laptop girls, which is Vista Home Edition, and now I can't open the UAC.  I followed the Panel, accounts of users, enable UAC, but it does nothing.  I can no longer to update adobe flash player.  He repeats to me that I have permission to admin, but I have in the past.  I also believe that used to be his administrator account, but now it's Standard user.  I have a security package installed on our computer to our internet provider.  I'm so frustrated.  I have some knowledge of computers, but the answers that I find are those prior right and none of these help.

    Of course, I removed or disabled something and now am having these problems.  I don't know what I did wrong.

    Please someone help before my brain explodes trying to understand this.

    Thank you for your answers and I tried everything, but in the end I had to reinstall windows vista.  It was my only option.

    I was not able to change my standard administrative user account.  It gives me an error message.  I bought and downloaded McAfee Security online and am now having trouble with my windows firewall (which I believe is supposed to be in the off position).  I'm at the point of reinstalling my software because of all the problems I encounter.

    You must have Admin rights so is your only value user account? Change it to Admin with the invisible
    Account. Another new Admin to test and fix and possibly a 3rd to migrate to.

    McAfee will turn off Defender - to turn this back on

    Start - type in the search--> service box found at the top of the list of Services - RIGHT CLICK – RUN AS ADMIN

    Windows Defender service - change to START - AUTOMATIC

    Disable change at stop SIGN - MANUAL or DISABLED

    The above, stop the service and you must also turn on or off in the program according to the needs.

    I have new HP Officejet Pro 8610 (series [personal information deleted]

    At first I thought maybe it was the program, but after some research, I feel, the question may be the driver himself. Please try to use the 8600 as another pilot.

    Impossible to change or load or build the dimension infromation - error message "Could not open file .otn."

    Essbase is a similar error .otn when you try to copy an overview.

    The .otn file is a temporary plan generated during a restructuring.
    You must have had a restructuring fail recently.
    I'm in the app/db directory and delete the temporary files to a restructuring - .otn .inn, .pan, (IIRC .dbn and .esn).
    Now run a restructuring again and see if it succeeds, if so, great, if it fails again, research the cause of failure.

So I created a shortcut using the .exe directly instead of that the game gives us. Now yesterday I've played, got off, went to practice, returned, and it was blocked. There are no other files (that I know) have this problem, it's the unique. I am running vista Home Premium service pack 2 of the of the window on a relatively new dell 32-bit processor. I have absolutely no idea as to what caused this... anyone have an idea? Thank you.

    If you uninstall Norton, you can reinstall and your subscription will remain current.  Just make sure that you are using the Norton removal tool to uninstall.  You can find on their Web site.  You also mentioned McAfee on your system.  If you have not used the removal tool they provide that I suggest to go to get it and run it before removing Norton.  I heard about problems caused by one of these programs being not entirely removed by using only the normal uninstall option.

    Also if you have not already done, right click on the file that you run and choose "Run as Administrator" and see if that makes a difference. Mike - Engineer Support Microsoft Answers

    Chances are it might have or you have been deceived by clicking on a link from an e-mail sent by a friend (but really a virus) and has been infected by a virus spam. Who knows, maybe there is a keylogger on your system and a hacker is constantly followed all the entries in your password. In any case, this post is in the wrong section. You can re-post in a more appropriate category. I suggest that you perform a virus and spyware scans on your computer (kaspersky virus removal tool 11, malwarebytes, spybot S & D etc.). Delete as soon as possible then change all your passwords and do all the security measures necessary to keep it/him/herself to regain access to your accounts. Some people may lose their identity as easily.

    It looks like you copied a symbol from one image to another, then
    "gone in ' and edited this symbol... what you need to do is create a copy
    the symbol and change this one instead... IOW...

    step 1:
    'symbol1_mc' in the library is duplicated to create 'symbol2_mc '...

    Step 2:
    you copy your picture 1 on frame 2 of the timeline just as you did

    Step 3:
    Use the properties panel to switch on stage (and the second image)
    "symbol1_mc" with "symbol2_mc"... so that you now have 'symbol1_mc '.
    frame 1 and 'symbol2_mc' on frame 2

    Step 4:
    then edit "symbol2_mc".

    When I create or edit a rule in the mail, the window is always too short, and it cuts the Actions section.     In the past, restarting Mail would bring this window to its full size. If this does not work for you, try this:

    Exit the Mail.
