Cannot connect to Skype, Windows desktop application

I can't connect to Skype Windows desktop App Win7, Skype 6.9.0.106. Username and password are good. I can log on with these on skype.com. Also I can log in using my address WP8 and hotmail.com. If I try to use my e-mail for loging hotmail.com address, this brings me to the name and password of user Skype page.

Error: Unable to connect to Skype.

6.9 Skype is an older version. All Skype versions prior to 6.14 are now disabled, which means that you can longer use the version 6.9. The version currently is 6.21. You must update your Skype.

I already made sure the following.

    3. to permit the remote desktop connection in Windows 7 firewall, both private and public.
    4. I am the only user and so was an authorized user of remote desktop.

    6. I forwarded port 3389 to the internal IP (eg 192.168.1.101).

  • A little sleepy Internet - cannot connect to Skype by using my Microsoft account

    Hello

Since this morning, when trying to connect to Skype by using my Microsoft account, I got a message that the Internet is a little sleepy and I have to try again later. It's using the desktop on Windows 8.1 version. However, I can use my Skype ID and I am able to use the account of MS on Skype on Android. I could also open a session using the Win 8 application using my account, Ms.

I tried the option to completely uninstall Skype (including enforcement Win 8) as suggested elsewhere on the forums of discussion, but the problem persists.

    It's incredibly frustrating!

Please give me an alternative or tips on how to get rid of this problem.

    Thank you

I discovered the problem. For one reason or another in my LAN in Internet Explorer settings, I had ' configuration script automatically use "checked with a value for the script. Have no idea how it got there, but he stopped at IE to connect to the internet, but also this problem with Skype. I almost never use IE, I tend to use Firefox or Chrome.

  • Suddenly, that I can not connect to Skype on desktop Win10

    Hello

    (V. 7.29.0.102) Skype works normally on my Windows desktop of 10 without problem until today. Now when I try and sign it is said that "sorry, we did not recognize your connection details. Please check your Skype name and password and try again. »

After checking service problems on the heartbeat blog, I tried many things are:

    (1) I can connect to the web version of SKYPE and make calls with the user name and password, so I that I have as well a connection internet and a valid username and password.

    (2) I followed the "https://blogs.skype.com/2014/03/18/the-ultimate-guide-to-solving-skype-sign-in-issues/" Ultimate Guide to fix this problem without success:

    (i) I deleted the file shared.xml with '% appdata%\skype'

    (II) I deleted the DbTemp file using ""% temp%\skype " "

(III) I renamed the folder Skype Skype_old with '%AppData%'

(IV) I uninstalled and reinstalled Skype.

    (v) I have reset the password.

(VI) I checked my Norton Firewall allows Skype traffic.

(VII) I tried different unused ports above 1200.

(VIII) I tried to connect with other accounts.

All these attempts don't turn on signing the Office of enforcement.

At one point, I ran a diagnostic utility program and he said my Skype was not compatible with my system. What I find difficult to understand because it worked before today and I have not to my knowledge are adding new software for my system in recent weeks.

The last suggestion is to check with the community.  Perhaps there is a step that I forgot.

MOD Edit: Edited post to remove the information personal & consistent with the Skype community guidelines

The SOLUTION FOUND ... and what I've learned about the blockage at the level of the device!

SOLUTION, the SHORT VERSION: there is an automated system that detects several Skype represents signatures on a single computer device using the Desktop Skype application and that the automatic system can block future sign-in on a particular device for safety reasons, when more than 2 accounts have been detected.  To unblock a DEVICE-LEVEL-BLOCK by the Office of Skype system you must contact Skype supports services to have the block studied and eventually deleted. It can take a number of days to pay, for three days in my case.  In the meantime, a workaround is to use Skype web.skype.com based portal or another device to the computer, assuming that there is No an account level problem with signature on an account himself.

SOLUTION, the LONG VERSION: as I said earlier, I had climbed blocked Application Desktop Skype connection problem to chat services online technical support of Skype that had tried to solve the problem using control tests remotely from my office. After you have determined that the problem was not the application itself, or my account itself, they concluded by saying that "I've check (sic) thanks to our superior team and we discover that there are some restrictions on your device to use your account Skype is why you can't connect." "So you have to climb (sic) that our technical team of level 2 so they (sic) fixed this issue.  (My side thought: a good command of the English language doesn't seem to be much in vogue on the Internet chat these days!...) LOL)

Having learned it may take 24-48 hours to respond to level 2, I waited. Wednesday evening (about 83 hours later), I received an email from an escalation to Global escalation Services analyst who made me know the block had been removed and that I could try to reconnect.  It worked.  I've been in.  Joy!

Not content to let just there, I followed with Skype support services again the next morning by chat online and learned the following interesting information.  "There [was] a restriction on the device you are using." ... "Just stop OK to connect to multiple Skype accounts on your device. ... The system detects the Skype account that logs on demand. "I then wanted to know" which means that the different members of the family can not use this machine to connect to different accounts? «The answer was, "they can try to connect, but it's better if you can allow only 2 accounts to use the desktop.» ... It's automated system and the system will detect it. »

So what I learned from this experience.  Skype Desktop application system keeps track of which accounts you log in every device, and when it detects multiple accounts logging on the same device... at some point, it can trigger a DEVICE-LEVEL-BLOCK on Skype Desktop of this particular system application in order to avoid the risk of abuse.  This means that each device from the computer, or possibly the application itself must have a unique number that identifies the device to Skype and allows a track whose accounts are connected in this device.  If the system detects potential abuse, it will block this device of signature on a Skype account ID using a Skype Desktop application.  This device-level-blocking apparently does not work using the web based Skype portal at web.skype.com.

I can understand the need for Skype for safety and to protect their services against abuse.  In my case, having more than two accounts, log on to the same device triggered a block device on the scale for all the accounts, with the exception of their test Skype account, when you use the desktop application for Skype.  This is something to know.  Work around if more than two users want to use Skype on the same device seems to use the Skype beta portal to web.skype.com instead of the Skype application.  I hope that this information will be useful to other users of Skype.

  • Cannot connect to Skype with my Skype name

When I try to open Skype after the last update, I get in a loop hell 'Sign in with your Microsoft account '. I do not have a Microsoft account, I don't WANT a Microsoft account and the alleged reason: to synchronize all my devices, is not important for me, because I have only one device, my laptop. Before I could go to a screen where I could enter my Skype name and password on connection. Now, I get in a series of account set up messages I can find no way of. I can not even full logging by setting up and account, because I don't have a phone, and Microsoft requires that a phone number "for security reasons" is still possible for me over Skype? If so, HOW?

This screen has nothing to do with the desktop version of Skype for Windows. Most likely, you are still trying to start mobility modern (metro) Skype app for Windows 8/8.1

Open this folder on your computer:

    C:\Program Files (x 86) \Skype\Phone\

You should see there Skype.exe file (icon Skype). Double-click on this file. What happens now?

You can access the index.html file by typing this in the Windows start search/run box:

    %LocalAppData%\skype\apps\login

However, have you tried to change the .css class settings in the Windows registry?

    http://community.Skype.com/T5/Windows-desktop-client/Skype-6-10-0-104-big-login-screen-problem/m-p/2...

The correct setting in the Windows registry is the following:

You can just use the attached file css.zip.

    Hi 1234Tony,

First of all, I suggest you that you also scan your laptop for infection by the virus. Second, reset TCP/IP stack Winsock settings. This could correct mistakes involving internet connectivity as a result of problems of installation of network software, due to a virus, trojan or malware infection or even due to disinfection of spyware security software.

To repair and put back the Windows Vista

    1. Click the Start button.
    2. Type Cmd in start it the search text box.
    3. Press Ctrl-Shift-Enter keyboard shortcut to run command as administrator prompt. Allow elevation request.
    4. Type netsh winsock reset in the command line shell, and then press the Enter key.
    5. Restart the computer

  • Cannot connect to Hotmail & Windows Live says cannot log off MSN account services.

My problems began on 19 October. When to use Hotmail and move the Inbox, in the box sent to the deleted area, I noticed that the ads running on the right side of the page, were flicker for a moment. They were flickering or give me a snapshot, 1/2 second glimpse of the announcement, which was then directed to the side page humble. This happened whenever I would go with one mailbox to another mailbox. Finally, on some ads I noticed 'ad choice.' I'm here and renounced well over 150 ad sources.

The same thing would happen on Yahoo Finance. The square ad that was intended for the right of the page, would try to open up to the left. Again, it was just for a moment, before the ads would find themselves on the right side.

People were told to use IE 9.0 follow-up protection. I watched a video on it and decided to allow it. That did not help, I went back and disabled the follow-up protection.

People have asked for a screenshot of the problem. I can't provide a screen shot of something which is an event and last only 1/2 second. Ads and tracking cookies and so forth are quire normal and predictable. However, the way in which they try to appear in my account Hotmail and Yahoo Finance is not normal and only started a few days ago.

I decided to uninstall my IE 9.0 and did. Ads on Yahoo Finance are still there and blink in the upper left before going to their normal location in the middle of the right side. Ads on Hotmail ceased. 'IF' Hotmail is a separate program, then my new copy of IE 9.0 has not touched the issue of advertising and the absence of ads now can be due to several times, I clicked on 'choice ad' and selected.

Now, I can not connect to Hotmail. I get these messages:

    1. on the left side, he says:
    Windows Live
    Disconnection is not complete...
We couldn't you disconnect from these sites:
    MSN account services

    2. on the right side, he said:
    Complete the registration
Try to clear all cookies from your browser, and then close all browser windows.
    How?< a="" link="" to="" "how"="" to="" clear="" all="" browser="" cookies,="">

The link to the 'how' takes me a sign in Center of Windows help, where I see no sign, index.

I deleted all of my temporary files, cookies, and browsing history. Yet, I can't properly log in Hotmail, and so far, the action of logging on Hotmail always took me at MSN dot com. Web page

I have all the above questions, the incorrect display of ads or signature on Hotmail, when I do the test using a different browser beside IE.

People tell me to repair-re-install Windows Vista and I'm not clear on why this is the fix here. The problem began just like ads displayed improprly on Hotmail and Yahoo Finance. I have subsequently, was to click on 'ad choice' and exclude certain ads. I also uninstalled IE 9.0. When I rebooted, Windows said there were 4 updates and 1 was IE 9.0. So, I went to leave install IE 9.0. I now have version: 9.0.8112.16421 version 9.0.3 update.

The only thing that happened between the time the ads have been displayed correctly and when they were not displayed correctly, was an installation of 9 new Windows updates, the or around October 13. I have nothing after these updates. Then 19, here are the ads that sparkle, Flash for a split 2nd on the 'left' Hotmail (when I move around the mailbox may box) when they are intended to 'right' of the Web page.

And now unable to disconnect Hotmail successfully. I deleted browser cookies, I think.

Someone told me to find the cookies here: %userprofile%\AppData\Roam

    Thank you.

    Hi Ernest,
