Cannot connect two computers
Original title: New Connection Wizard
Hello
In Windows XP, I could easily create a new connection by using the wizard. I need to connect directly to another computer (actually it's an on-board in the development system), but there is not a similar option in Winows 7. I checked the options in the network and sharing Center, but all of them are for Internet, routers, access points, wireless or VPN connections. I just need a connection directly to another computer in Windows 7.
As I said before this option was available in Win XP to the new connection wizard > Set up and advanced connection > connect directly to another computer.
Where can I end the equivalent option in Win 7?
Thank you!

Cannot connect two computers for games.
I am trying to connect two computers for games (Age of Empires 3) purposes, but when is connected the two with a cable ethernet (using a filter at one end adapter) nothing happens, I can't see not his computer on my laptop and it can't see my computer on his. In the game, I see his match but he can't see mine, and when I try to connect to the sound he says impossible to reach. Tried to make it work for days now and I'm at the end of my rope PLEASE HELP!
As a quick test to go Control Panel - firewall Windows and disabling the firewall to see if it works. If you have a 3rd party software AV Firewall control may be in this control panel software.
As the two PC is connected back to back without access to a DHCP server, they should award an APIPA IP address that should work. To eliminate the problems addressing assign a static IP on both.
Properties of the Control Panel - Network and sharing Center - change adapter settings - Rt click on Local Area connection-
In TCP/IP V4 each assign a static IP 192.168.0.X where x is between 1 and 254 and the 2 PC's are different so for example10 and 20, 100 or 1. The value of 255.255.255.0 subnet mask, save the changes and test the connection.
If disabling the firewall resolves you can add an exception to the firewall program to allow the age3.exe through the firewall. More information here, as you ar accommodation only play locally just look at the top.

Both computers have Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit installed and both computers already have access to Internet wireless (router to our owner in the next section). I want to be able to continue to use the wireless Internet, but want to share files directly between my two computers with the switch, if possible (assuming that it will be much faster for file transfers and sharing of multimedia files). I am a total rookie at most of these when it comes to networking of instructions in English is appreciated. Thank you.

How to connect two computers and LAN
I can't get my toshiba to interface with my desktop computer or to connect to the internet via a CAT5.
I tried everything I know.I'm not too sure about the LAN MAC? He just will not connect even if the device is functioning properly.
Any ideas?
Here are the instructions how can connect the two computers.
-First of all, you will need to disable the firewall.
-Then you need to set the same workgroup on both computers
-in the Lan Card Properties-> Protocol TCP/IP settings, you must assign the IP address manually. That is, a computer must use the 192.186.50.1 ip address and the other computer must be set to 192.186.50.2.
-MAC address is fixed and cannot be changed. Each LAN card uses unique mac addressAfter these settings, you must restart the portable computers (computers)
PS: I recommend Google for details and further instructions.

Well, I have two computers at the same time with the same version of Windows XP which is XP PRO SP2. I don't have not currently updated to SP3 for the simple fact that the two are about to switch to Windows 7.
The reson I try to connect these two computer this way is because my laptop has received such a bad for some reason virus whenever I tried to put it on her she would never do past the start screen or when I typed in the password it says access denied. I used Spotmau to a second partition on the hard drive and installed windows xp pro. I can see all the original (Windows Vista) OS files and all the stuff that I had to get out of it, but there are a few things that I have to go through ect... ect... The virus has managed to eat the automatic recovery partition and my late of course never did no restore CD anyway, long story short, I'm trying to get the lap top online via ethernet to my office. What I have is a wireless linksys with 4-port ethernet router. My internet connection comes from my mobile phone via the usb port. So what im trying to do is it here... ISP (via usb) > Desktop (via ethernet) > router (via ethernet) > Lap Top... Reason for this is that I can not find the wireless card drivers for XP given the computer came with Vista. Last night I put in place the network using the network set up, and it worked for a period of 45 minutes, until the power went and when it came back it wouldn't work. There is no problem with the router or other hardware wise. Ivetried turn off all firewalls ect... and still nothing on the top of the Tower, but the office still works.
Well, you have a router, that should do it is quite easy. Follow the link below, its what I used to put in place and never had a problem. If for any reason, you have any questions there is a small troubleshooting guide. Also, a couple of think to try. 1. disable the DHCP on the router and setting the 2 PCs of static. 2. with the help of a cable crossed to connect the two computers.

Cannot install two computers and the F4580
I had a F4580 without the installation disk. So far, I failed to install it on two computers.
1. I tried to install the driver version on a Dell XP 4150 14.1.0. I follow all the steps of the statement, I do not connect the USB cable too soon.
I do not use a hub, the USB cable and the plug are ok with other devices.
There is no other printers. Usbmon.dll is in the registry.
I've uninstalled and reinstalled the driver once. I also tried HPPSdr.exe.Nothing helps. The system does not find the printer over USB.
2. else I need a previous version of the driver software. In another thread someone said, he did install under windows 2000. Nobody knows, what version supports windows 2000 and maybe a link where I can download it? If I knew the number of the version, I can buy an old installation somewhere disc.
Yes they care but I really like to help all the way to the end. In this case, you are right because they accumulate previous drivers to work with those current and according to the date that the printer has been released may also determine how long they hold on the compatibility of this driver with older operating systems. In addition, after 5 years, some things on the website simply into disuse.
This is a Deskjet 990 c driver for Windows 2000. This is a Deskjet 6980 driver for Windows 2000. You can download both at least one of them should work. Let me know if that helps you at all!

For three years, I was able to have two monitors connected using Windows 7. Recently, I tried the upgrade to Windows 8 without success and returned to Windows 7. Now I am unable to get my monitors to work together. I watched the videos here to help me, but I'm unable to drag the pages or even my cursor
for the second monitor. The connections at the back of the computer appear to be correct. The second monitor is suited with a VGA cable for the connection.
Any help would be appreciated.
Hello Joseph,.
Thanks for posting your question on the Forum of the Microsoft community.
I would be grateful if you can provide us with the following information to determine the root cause of the problem.
What is the number and model of your computer and the graphics card?
Have you tried to monitor primary as secondary and vice versa?
All device drivers are updated?
Windows can detect automatically that an additional screen. If you connect two or more monitors, you must manually designate the primary display, arrange your desktop, and apply display settings, such as color depth and screen resolution. So, the next time that you connect these monitors, Windows automatically identifies the primary display and applies the settings that you previously specified for each additional display.
Try the methods mentioned below and see if it helps.
Method 1
If you haven't tried Exchange monitors so I suggest you to try and see if the problem still occurs.
To change the settings of two monitors you can consult the links below:

http://support.Microsoft.com/kb/976064/en-us
Change settings display on multiple monitors
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-Vista/change-display-settings-on-multiple-monitors
Note: This link is also applicable for Windows 7 .
Method 2
If the problem persists I suggest you to update the display drivers. As the display drivers for two monitors are not the same, so try to update and check the status.
Updated a hardware driver that is not working properly
http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/update-a-driver-for-hardware-that-isn ' t-work correctlyUpdate drivers: recommended links

Hope it would help. If problem persists always post back with the current state of your computer and the result of the proposed suggestion, we will be happy to help you.
Thank you.

I have an old pevilion touchsmart, can I hook the two together and work as two separate screens, and not mirror?
Hello @OnTimeVA,
I see what you're asking now. The answer is 'NO' as the all-in-one is a computer equipped with a fixed thus display the entries must go through the computer to get on the screen. I've heard some people are able to go through the HDMI-IN port on some all-in-one computers, but not all were successful.
I hope this helps. Thanks again for your post on the HP Forums. Have a great day!
