Cannot copy folders, but can copy files inside of them.

I can't copy any file to a single partition. I can copy the files into it and I can rename the files. The error I get is (translation of my installation tongue free :) Cannot copy files, cannot read from source.

The I am trying to copy the records are not system, just my media folders.
Any suggestions?

    Hello

What installation media you are using?

    Method 1:

Error 0 x 80070017 translates "CRC error" which means that the files that are copied from the disc are not making it to the hard drive with the same structure, which means that the 'original' the disk files are modified/changed/corrupted while being copied to the location of the 'destination' on your disk during Setup.

This usually means a bad DVD, or an error reading on the DVD player.

  • Errro message "cannot copy file: path is too deep.

Inequality on the what, why, how do to the error message "cannot copy file: path is too deep." I would like to know the causes and possible prevention and or all of the information available on this issue. The problem occurs when copying large files and sometimes small files on external hard drive to the top.

Even though the file itself may become a 9-character file name extension, it could be buried inside several files.  Thus, when you step on your external USB drive and it appears as, say, M: drive, the number of characters in the complete path to the file starting with "M:\. "and including all of the directories in the path to the file as well as the number of characters in the name of the file itself must not exceed 255 or Windows refuses to handle.

Robocopy is a command line program.  You must type in the command from a command prompt window (start-> Run-> "cmd").  It works by accessing the file using a set of routines to copy the different library that does not have the limit of 255 characters.  A documentation file must accompany Robocopy explaining how to use it.

Another method that might work for you is to take the folder that your .wmv file is in (or maybe both files above) and to temporarily move to the root directory of your external hard drive.  This shorten the path to the file and allow a normal copy of work.

    Hello

The format of the files you want to copy basically described what kind of files they are. Word documents, of .mpg, jpeg, etc.
However, it seems that the problem is with the drive itself, not individual files.

You happen to have any installed Roxio program? Specifically, Roxio Easy CD Creator?
If so, you should remove this program, restart the computer and try again.

Whenever I try to COPY a group of files and folders 1 folder to another folder, Vista wants only to allow me to MOVE them.  What is my problem?

Select the files to copy (using the command CTRL to select more than one non sequential order) and once they are all chosen type CTRL-C.  Then move to the folder where you want to copy and click header file and type CTRL-V.  Perhaps this method of copying files won't work where others do not.

  • IX4 - 300 d - cannot copy files between actions or the ext disk. USB

    Hi forum!

I can't work for the life of me how to move files between the shares on the NAS. I can access my computer fine actions. I have a USB HARD drive connected to the front USB port and I want to copy some files from the HARD drive to a shared folder on the NAS, but when I'm in the content browser that I have no option to copy, and there is no functionality of drag - move. That I going nuts or something blatantly obvious lack?

I want to copy data from USB directly as it is a few TB of data and copying on the LAN will take ages. It's going to be a regular thing, but I can't really put in place a copy job, because it is not the same type of data or file locations every time.

    Help, please!

    Thank you!

    Matt

    Hello MattDobson,

You will need to map the actions:
    https://www.Google.com/webhp?SourceID=chrome-instant&ion=1&ESPV=2&IE=UTF-8#q=how+to+map+a+network+sh...

And move the data in this way, the Ext HDD will appear as its own share, but can be mapped as others.

The content in the UI Viewer is not designed to move data.

You can find documentation and downloads for the ix4 - 300 d here:

  • Cannot copy files to CD or DVD + RW drive

I tried several types of disc but am find me suddenly unable to write / copy files on a DVD or a CD. I use a HP with XP desktop computer. This problem started last night. When I put in a disk, it reads. I clicked on properties, then go to AutoPlay. I choose, for example, a content type - I'll click on say, mixed content, and ok. Everything I do or choose here, it will not save. I hit the Restore Defaults and it does nothing. In Windows Explorer, instead of inscription on the list DVD + RW and whateer in car, it displays an image of a disc with the date and the E drive.

To clarify: when it runs in a file with special characters, it gives me the error message that the file name is too long or contains special characters.  The problem is that when I click 'OK' to confirm the error (not), the copy is aborted.

    Any ideas?

  • In Windows 7, cannot copy files in system32, goes to sysWOW64 instead

Somehow I can not copy the file in system32, but rather the file go to sysWOW64, I used windows 7 64 bit, I hope someone can solve this problem. Thank you

Why / what you are trying to copy a file in System32?

System32 (as its name suggests) is a system folder that is protected by Windows Resource Protection. You should not normally be playing with it unless you have good reason.

SysWOW64 is a record that plays an "emulator" to allow 32-bit programs to run on a 64 bit version of Windows 7. Still, you shouldn't normally be playing with it.

  • Cannot copy file to virtual machine host computer

    People,

Hello. I use VM Player 3. My host computer is Windows 7 and VM is Oracle Linux 5. I used to copy files from the virtual machine host successfully machine. But now, when I copy a virtual machine host machine zip file, the error message appears:

"Unable to write file in Virtual Machine.Aborting the copy file operation."

The virtual machine's memory is 2 GB, and the file is about 900 MB. I think that there is enough memory to hold the file.

    My question is:

Any folk can help solve the question above?

    Thanks in advance.

    Hello

To be able to copy this file in your virtual machine, you need about 2 GB of free space on the disk in the virtual machine on the disk that has the temp folder.

The size of the RAM to the virtual machine is not really important.
