To give the control is a two-step process. Take ownership and then to give permissions.

Owner of a file allows the owner to change permissions even if they do not have the authorization to do so. It's the only thing that made property. The person who creates an object owns the object. For admins, the objects that are created are the property of administrators, not the individual.

You need start exploring as administrator to Start - All Programs - Accessories - made Windows Explorer right click and choose run as administrator.

You must therefore make a right-click folders / drive, you are interested in tick - button Properties - Security - Advanced button - property - Edit - Replace owner on Sub containers and objects tab - select one user-then Ok your way of out.

Right-click new - folder Properties - Security - Advanced - tab permissions - Edit button - select the account - check the two checkboxes - button - Advanced - Search now button Add button - select your tick - Ok button - total control in the list. OK your way out.

How do I enter recorded meetings? When I click on the "meetings" tab it says I don't have permission

Meeting records will have a direct URL, as well as meeting rooms and the content in Connect. You probably not a member of the host of the meeting or Group Admin group in this Connect account, so you do not have the permissions to access the library of the meeting.

You will need either the host of the meeting room as you are looking for the registration you get the link and make sure you have the appropriate permissions to view, or switch the recording to the content library where it can be placed in a folder that you have viewing permissions.

  • Cannot delete the file - Windows 7 cannot check location

    Hello all,.

After the upgrade to Windows 7, I tried to delete the Windows.old folder. However, I encountered a problem; There are two files in this folder that Windows 7 can not remove. When I try to delete them, I get an error message stating that Windows cannot locate the two files and it asks me to check their location. Is there a way to get around this?

    Thank you

    Garrick

When the above does not work, try this:

    1. click on windows orb
    2. type cmd in the search box
    3. right click on cmd in the results menu and click on run as administrator
    4. control windows opens, must be in the directory c:\windows\system32
    5. go into c:\ do this type cd... until you reach c:\
6 goto directory where the file to be deleted. example c:\windows.old\users
7 type rd /s (directory name)
8 get invites to delete y/n type y and press on enter

After successful removal, you can check the windows Explorer and see that the file is missing.

Example, I have a directory on my c drive named windows.old, under windows.old that I have a user directory and then several subdirectories, 1 directory happens to be named bill. For some reason any windows can not find this place and will not delete the folder. I then who follow the previous steps and remove this directory.

So, in step 6, I would like to c:\windows.old\users goto, I then head to step 7 and enter the rd/s Bill and enter. Follow step 8 and the file is missing.

Let us know if that helps.

  • McAfee Firewall will stay not on; Cannot turn on the firewall of Windows 7; Computer keeps restarting; and I can't access a file because my computer says I don't have permission

I use McAfee Firewall as my firewall.  Now when I try to turn it on, it continues for less than a second, then turns off.  Firewall Windows also not be.

My computer rebooting in itself guard so I can't complete a virus scan.  In one place, he suggested I have try in Safe Mode, but it didn't work (and he told me that it did not work because I couldn't connect to the internet).  I tried "Safe Mode with networking" and he would not even let me scan.

Another thing, the last time that I tried to scan it got stuck on "Internet C:\Windows\SysWOW64A\config\systemprofile\AppData\Local\Microsoft\Windows\Temporary / / Desktop.ini.  This makes me think that this could be the problem, so I tried to get him to put the file in "VirusTotal.  I was able to get to him before that I got the idea to put it in "VirusTotal" but now it won't let me and he says:

"You don't have currently not allowed to access this folder."

"Click Conitnue to have permanent access to this folder."

When I try to click on "Continue", it only ever through.

I tried to change the 'Owner' under 'Security' tab but it still doesn't work, so I can't check to see if the file is a virus.

Should I try to download a new antivirus program to scan my computer?

Sorry if this is in the wrong category.  I have so many problems, it is not easy to categorize.

    Uninstalling McAfee completely.

Do not use any product that claims to make your computer run better.  Almost all of them are either false, themselves, an infection, or put your computer at risk. Delete everything that claims to be there to prevent the infections or pretends to make your computer work better, except for the singular than an antivirus product.

It is a controversial topic, but your choice of AV software may be something you want to take a 2nd look.  I suggest you visit this website to get an idea of what AV software made the best work, depending on what type of user you are: http://www.av-comparatives.org/ is a non-profit that has been around for a long time and I hope that their results.

When you interpret these results, remember the difference between a product that detects 95% and the other 99% of infections, it is actually 5 times more likely to allow an infection.

I pick up after about 150 Windows PCs and I have more than 13 years.  Until last September, the only AV software that I would allow my clients to use was Norton Antivirus.  Note that this is not the same as any other product, Norton 360 or Internet Security.  My clients rarely know infections.

Last September, Symantec (Norton owner) decided to no longer sell such a product.  After much research, I decided on Bitdefender Antivirus 2015 +.  I installed it on most of these PCs to date and has never been a problem, and it has been on a course of about 11 months now...  It is a better product than Norton.  It is also cheap. One of the things I love the most about it, is the silence and discretion.  Especially if silenced you its function "portfolio".

My customers know that if they install any product of 'Internet Security', I won't work on their computers until it is deleted.  Very well, I learned the hard way that other components of these products (other than the AV itself) IS causing more problems than any profit that they bring and work mainly by stopping the Windows component that does a very good job of this particular task still.  The problem is that when I started to work on a computer with an IS on it, I could spend hours trying to diagnose the problem, only to find out that by taking the product of the IS, the problems have become much clearer and easier to solve.  I think that the product of the IS actually hides the problem.

As I said, this is a controversial topic and you will find many different very strong opinions.  I know that mine is based on a fairly large sample over a long period, and are consumers of consumer type Windows.

Please note.  You should never have more than one protection software installed.  Always make sure that you completely remove the firmware all protection before installing a new one.  That contains software that may have come preinstalled on your computer when it's new

Totally impossible to delete most of all AV software simply by using the standard uninstallation tool Windows 7.  Most of the majors also publishes a "removal tool" that gets the rest.  If you do not completely remove it, it will cause very hard to understand and diagnose problems.

  • Automatic Windows update cripples pc - error message says I don't have permission to do anything on my C drive

After the update of windows install and automatic that I shut down my computer, I received the error message that there wasn't enough room. I canceled the installation and now nothing works.  I get an error message saying that I don't have permissions to do anything on my c drive. What happened only under my username, but I lost iTunes and can't access the Internet at all.

Try to run the full scan of the system with:

    http://www.Microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

If your C drive is nearly full, run disk clean up and defragnment and uninstall programs that you might not want to go to add/remove programs or programs and features.

  • Cannot delete programs. Windows 7 says that I am not an administrator.

I'm trying to delete a program in my laptop.  I am the only user of this laptop and its sole owner.  I get an error message that says that I can not remove the program because I am not an administrator.  It is doubly annoying because I'm unable to install a similar program that I really need to use because I can't remove this program (i.e., I can't install program verizon wireless because I can't uninstall Cricket).

I have no need of several user accounts (more a user account account administrator) and will not be set up anything like that, no matter what Microsoft is necessary.  With my current setup, which is ONLY AN account with my name (and apparently not an 'administrator' account, whatever that means) how can I remove programs I didn't need?
