Cannot delete a folder that is named 632f88d96e0043b675cf8a5c on drive C: (xp)

I can't delete a folder named 632f88d96e0043b675cf8a5c (maybe a windows update) on drive C: (xp). It contains mxdwdrv.dll, xpssvcs.dll, filterpipelineprintproc.dll among other records how to remove or fix this problem

You've restarted since the update of windows?
have you tried to delete the files in safe mode?

Known issue see: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx/kb/951847/en-us
Known questions question 1 after installing the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 in Windows XP or Windows Server 2003, there is an arbitrary folder that is generated at the root of the C drive. This folder contains two subfolders named amd64 and i386. These two subfolders include the following files:

  • Filterpipelineprintproc.dll
  • Msxpsdrv.cat
  • Msxpsdrv.inf
  • Msxpsinc.GPD
  • Msxpsinc.PPD
  • Mxdwdrv.dll
  • Xpssvcs.dll

These records were waiting to remove from the XPSEPSC installation. Solution to resolve this issue, delete the folder manually.

    What should I do?

    Hi Sanches,

Generally, this problem is caused because of the threat of viruses or malware on your computer. I would like to know some information about this problem so that we can help you further.

    1. do you have the question started recently?

    2. do you get any error code or error message while starting?

    3. have you made changes on the computer before this problem?

I would suggest trying the following methods and check if it works for you.

    Method 1:

To remove the desktop folder, start safe mode and then try to delete the folder prom there. In Safe Mode, none of the third-party program/APP or virus cannot block the delete task.

Step 1: start in safe mode.

Start settings for Windows (including safe mode):

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/Windows-startup-settings-safe-mode

Note: refer to the section "Safe Mode".

How to work with files and folders:

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows-8/files-folders-Windows-Explorer

Note: refer to the section 'create or delete files'.

    Method 2:

Run Microsoft Safety Scanner and check if there is any threat of viruses found.

    Microsoft safety scanner: http://www.microsoft.com/security/scanner/en-us/default.aspx

Note: The Microsoft Safety Scanner ends 10 days after being downloaded. During these 10 days, it will remove all the files infected by the virus and records. I suggest you create a backup of your data, and then install Microsoft Safety Scanner.

Please reply with the status of the issue, so that we can better help you.

Try to use Unlocker to:http://www.softpedia.com/get/System/System-Miscellaneous/Unlocker.shtml this programs often works when the normal functions of remove Vista not work correctly.

If this does not work, you need to change the permissions and ownership on the file in order to have all the rights and the property (even on the inherited rights).  Then try Unlocker.  Here's the information to help you do.

To view your permissions, right-click on the file/folder, click Properties, and check the Security tab.  Check the permissions you have by clicking on your user name (or group of users).  Here are the types of permissions, you may have:http://windows.microsoft.com/en-US/windows-vista/What-are-permissions.  You must be an administrator or owner to change the permissions (and sometimes, being an administrator or even an owner is not sufficient - there are ways to block access (even if a smart administrator knows these ways and can move them - but usually should not because they did not have access, usually for a very good reason).)  Here's how to change the permissions of folder under Vista:http://www.online-tech-tips.com/windows-vista/set-file-folder-permissions-vista/. To add take and the issuance of right of permissions and ownership in the right click menu (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article:http://www.mydigitallife.info/2009/05/21/take-and-grant-full-control-permissions-and-ownership-in-windows-7-or-vista-right-click-menu/.

To solve this problem with folders, folders takeownership or the reader (as an administrator) and give you all the rights.  Right-click on the folder/drive, click Properties, click the Security tab and click on advanced and then click the owner tab.  Click on edit, and then click the name of the person you want to give to the property (you may need to add if it is not there--or maybe yourself). If you want that it applies to subfolders and files in this folder/drive, then check the box to replace the owner of subcontainers and objects, and click OK.  Back and now there is a new owner for files and folders/player who can change the required permissions.  Here is more information on the ownership of a file or a folder:http://www.vistax64.com/tutorials/67717-take-ownership-file.html. To add take ownership in the menu of the right click (which will make it faster to get once it is configured), see the following article:http://www.howtogeek.com/howto/windows-vista/add-take-ownership-to-explorer-right-click-menu-in-vista/.

    I hope this helps.

    Good luck!

  • Cannot delete the folder of online storage

Although I don't use SkyDrive, I thought that someone could help me with a problem I have with a cloud storage; I can't delete a file zip of my stock, which is an integral part of my Web-based e-mail program. I put a check mark in the box next to the folder (not file), press DELETE, OKAY the confirmation but nothing happens; the record remains in place. Is there a way to access storage and deleting the folder from command line? I'll be very grateful to anyone who has a suggestion. I have Windows XP Pro SP3 and IE8, which are up to date.

Old post I know but I had this problem on several of my removable HDs, and finally I managed to remove the 'System Volume Information' folder:

DO NOT DO THIS ON YOUR C: DRIVE OR YOUR WINDOWS HARD DRIVE!

Right click on desktop, and then click [New-> shortcut]
    Write: cmd.exe

Click [next] and then click [finish]

Right click on cmd.exe icon, and then click 'run as administrator'
Now select the external hard drive (f: in my case)

    C:\>f:

Yes now the following (you can copy paste):
    F:\>attrib s h/s/d
    F:\>attrib - r/s/d
    F:\>Rd "System Volume Information" / s
Are System Volume Information, you sure (Y/N)? There

    And you're DONE ;-)

  • Cannot delete the folder since an administrator account

I'm trying to delete a folder on my external HARD drive.  When I try the operation, a message says that I don't have permission and need to ask the owner of the folder.  However, I am the owner of the folder (Administrator and the only account with administrative privileges on this PC).  What can I do to get control of this object and others on this drive?

    1. Right click, choose Properties.
    2. Go to the Security tab, click Advanced.
    3. At the top of the screen to change the "owner" to yourself (or 'administrators' If you want that any user administrator to have the same rights as you do).
    4. Apply the setting (check the box at the bottom to replace the owner on all subcontainers if you want this property changes to apply to records under the one you are editing).

    CAN SOMEONE PLEASE...

I have a file left behind by an uninstall, '146-200 300 Jetliner just of flight ' folder to be precise!

After that I removed the program, the file was still in the Start Menu. So right clicked and tried to delete native mode in the start menu which will be presented with the message "unable to delete the folder. Check the location of the item... "or something in that sense.

I tried many fixes but all without success. I tried CCleaner, I tried to remove it from CMD, I tried to rename, move and merge the file with one of the same name. I also tried to reinstall the program, delete the folder with the installed program and try uninstall again to remove the folder.

Literally nothing works. The only thing I have not tried is a Disk Clean Up, simply because I don't think it will work.

    Any help is greatly appreciated!

    Kind regards

    Ben Stratford
