Cannot install .exe files

I hope someone can help me with my problem of laptop. I struggled for 4 months with not being able to install some .exe files, especially of the antivirus programs, still the same error: Windows encountered a problem with this file, Unknown Publisher

The problems started with Vista: arrested Norton running Liveupdate, so I was without any program antivirus for awhile, picked up a virus. I had it upgraded to Windows 7 (own update) at PCWorld, the problem persisted.

I contacted the technical support from Microsoft, who got back to me and they were brilliant ringing me back every night of the week last to try to find a solution. They helped me to do a clean install, after that, I immediately tried to reinstall Norton, no luck. Still will not install some .exe files.

Keep Office updates fail with the error code 080200053. PCWorld can not deal with me that I reformatted since their upgrade. Suspected Microsoft support the strange behavior to block .exe files indicates a virus. I paid for a Norton virus removal service. They worked on it for 5 hours, cleaned the system, but could not reinstall Norton. They think that it is because of the failure of that updated Windows. But I do not understand that if there is no office updates had to do with a block on Norton!

I decided to forego Norton and tried to download Kaspersky, failed. Then another go to Avast, failed.

I managed to download and install Acrobat Reader and Google Earth after about a 100 attempts, is not a global block on the .exe files.

PCWorld verified the hard drive, no problems. Toshiba will deal only with material, both pointing the finger Microsoft software. Say Symantec Microsoft say it is a virus, there is no virus, this is the Windows updates.

Where should I go from here, I'm going in circles! My laptop has just developed a one-of-a-kind problem that nobody knows the answer to? I searched the internet upside and tried all possible troubleshooting suggestions. It cost me more than 200 books to date for updates and deletions of virus, etc. The doomed laptop was far too expensive to just throw it in the trash, but no one can fix it!

Can anyone suggest a solution?

This problem occurs if the .exe in the registry file is damaged. This behavior is usually caused by viruses; one of them is the SirCam virus, which change the .exe file association in the registry.

@ildi: If the above solves your problem, either you did a Windows repair installation or you did a clean install, but the computer was infected again shortly after (through, for example, already infected flash drive or SD card, another computer on the network, or your backup data).

Do you have this of Direct2Drive?  Basically, the original Assassin's Creed v1.0 is compatible not 64-bit.  You need to have the v1.02 patch.  Available here.  Although I don't think you can install the hotfix without first installing the game.  If you need a more recent copy of the game.  If you buy it on Steam, it will not work.  But if you have the Direct2Drive version, you might have missed the system requirements specifying that you need a 32 bit OS to play.

  • cannot open .exe files, add/remove files works do not (not too long on a computer far away)

Help me Obi Kenobi won, you're my only hope. (Sorry, has.)

I got a virus called XP 2010 antivirus, who kept asking me to buy their software. I did a security analysis of microsoft online, which didn't seem to help. I noticed that I am still unable to open wordpad, notepad, etc... Also unable to do a system restore (giving the window "choose the program you want to use to open this file. ("File: rstrui.exe").

The same basic "choose program" window opens for almost everything on my computer, including Mozilla Firefox, all my antivirus software (including those suggested I download to fix this), add/remove programs, and I imagine many other programs just yet, I have to try.

I tried to open "My computer" once and my computer to freeze to the origin. I once again and used ctrl alt del to see my process of and noticed a caled "cinemanowsvc.exe" process was running and associated with a software movie I got... so I told him to stop this process of visualization, and after doing so could open 'my computer '. I suspect that the virus may be in the cinemanow program and want to remove it... but I'm also not sure if this is my problem.

A lot of the tabs on the lower bar, near the clock seem to be missing, and the computer seems to restart very slow... I have UBUNTU (almost Linux) on my hard drive that is partitioned and UBUNTU seems to have dropped the event.

If you could help, that would be the most awesome of you!

Note: I have also tried to open my software in safe mode, but I am unable to do so.

It is difficult to tell exactly how much damage has been done to the system and whether or not it is worth trying to fix or start over.

  • Cannot install 1 file

I've recently upgraded to a Palm T / X and after some problems with synchronization and the installation of files I think I resolved by changing the conduct of some programs and upgraded to the new Palm Desktop (I'm not as well as the old, but, Oh well!), it works OK especially installation of files and that's all that matters.  My latest issue is with a program that I bought to back up my Palm since I could no longer do by just inserting the card backup and restore or backup. This is the message I get when syncing: cannot install 1 file (s) - BackupBuddyVFS.PRC - Invalid Pocket (deleted) - led error: synchronization type invalid (1012) - CONDERR_BAD_SYNC_TYPE.

I appreciate any help I can get, if all goes well, this is the last question I have and I can start enjoying my new Palm.

    Thank you!!!

    What device go you to?

Did you precisely follow guidelines updated Palm that require renaming the backup on your computer folder before installing the new version of Palm Desktop and synchronization?

Have you checked that you use the correct (and probably last) versions of third-party applications?

    Hello

    1. You did changes to the computer before the show?
    2. What version of web browser work?

You can temporarily disable the antivirus software, and then try to install programs, and also try to open .exe files to check if that helps.

Check the link for more information.

    http://Windows.Microsoft.com/en-us/Windows7/disable-antivirus-software

Note: Antivirus software can help protect your computer against viruses and other security threats. In most cases, you should not disable your antivirus software. If you need to disable temporarily to install other software, you must reactivate as soon as you are finished. If you are connected to the Internet or a network, while your antivirus software is disabled, your computer is vulnerable to attacks.

    I hope this helps!
