Cannot install OSX on SSD

Having some problems trying to install OSX on a SSD

The specifications of the imac are

iMac 24 inch 'Core 2 Duo' 2.66 (early 2009) 2.66 GHz Core 2 Duo (E8135)
Intro. March 3, 2009 Disc. October 20, 2009
Order MB418LL/A Model A1225 (EMC 2267)
Family In early 2009 ID iMac9, 1
RAM 4 GB VRAM 256 MB
Storage 640 GB (7200 RPM) Optics 8 X DL "SuperDrive".
Full IMac "Core 2 Duo" 2.66 sheet 24 inches (early 2009)

Correctly formatted the disk, a boot usb drive correctly but the installation setup process takes forever! literally forever, I tried to install snow leopard, yosemite and el capitan with no luck. At Christmas, I left the installation of Snow Leopard running, and it must take a week at the end and then wouldn't boot. I gave up with the others.

So it is that SSD not all supported and if it is not the question would be - this firmware?

Start your Mac from the USB. Start "Disk utility", and check the SSD, particularly the SMART State. If disk utility tells you that everything is OK, open "Terminal" and type

diskutil list

Press the ENTER key.

After the output here. Who will tell us what look like the partitions on your disk.

    Hello

Earlier today, I accidentally erased my drive HARD integer (own diskpart). It's true: no more side MAC and no recovery partition. I have a Macbook Pro mid-2009 which was given to me a month ago. I don't have the Mac OS x installation disc.

I tried to install Windows 8 and 10, but two installers stuck to the Windows Logo. I made a Yosemite OSX (from the Macbook Air of friend) bootable USB. Which stalls too. I tried two different usbs. At the present time, my hard drive 120 GB SSD is configured for Windows. It is empty because windows install has failed.

I'm at a loss to know what to do. What is going on?

Given that your Mac is too old to use Internet retrieval, you must boot from the installation for you DVD Mac and reformat the drive HFS + and partition GUID mapping.

Once you get this system reinstalled, you will need to upgrade the operating system from there.

If you do not have a valid backup, all your data will be lost by reformatting.

    Hello Viposhan,

Thank you for using communities Support from Apple!

Looks like you want to reinstall OS X on your computer.  I will try to help you with this.

MacBooks 2007 came with OS X 10.4 (Tiger) or OS X 10.5 (Leopard) installed.  To reinstall the OS X on a Mac 2007 you need discs that came with the computer or the discs for any version of Mac OS X upgrade you bought.  Place the disc in the disc drive, hold the C key and turn on the computer.  It should boot from the disc.  Follow the prompts from there.  Recovery of the Internet did not become available until that models Mac later.

If you don't have the original disks, OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) would work for a computer in 2007 and is available on the Apple Store online here:

Mac OS X 10.6 Snow Leopard

  • Cannot install OSX on Mac Pro 5.1

I just got a Mac Pro 5.1. I just wanted to fly over my current drive from a Mac Pro 4.1 and the video card. I did and he started at first, then he asked me to download a driver of Cuda 7200LE. I did and have never been able to get it started again. . In addition to this, when I hold down the option key when starting, I get a screen with a locked padlock and a window requesting a password. Keep in mind that I just bought this computer no drive at all, not video card and ram.  Since then, I've added a Virgin SSD, 24 GB of ram from database SYSTEMS of MEMORY and set in a Mac 7200LE GeForce GT 120. I tried to get all kinds of passwords, none doesn't work, but why should a password to get to the selection screen of startup by holding down the option key? It starts either DVD, the disc spins, but I just get the flashing icon with an exclamation mark.

Because the computer has a firmware password; This also disables the shortcut C. ask the seller the password, or if you have proof of ownership, contact Apple.

  • Failed to install the new SSD on OSX support!

    Hello!

I'd be happy if anyone of you could help me out here!

I have questions, try to install a new own OSX on a new SSD on my Macbook Pro mid-2012.

I have done this before on an Evo 840 500 GB Samsung without problems.
This time, I use a Samsung Evo 850 1 TB, but when I try to install OSX it won't let me.

I use (command + R to start) recovery mode and as a first step in disk utility, I couldn't format the new SSD in Mac OS x journaled, it just stopped at 50%.
Then, I swapped the SSD for a normal (Non - SSD) hard drive, installed OS x on this drive without problem and formatted the SSD drive in disk utility on this new OSX on the HARD drive regularly after putting the SSD drive in an external enclosure.

After that, I swapped for the formatted SSD HARD drive, but I still cannot install OSX. In disk utility from recovery mode it is said "not mounted" under the mount in the info Point. I tried the strength to mount it in a Terminal too, but it will not be displayed as installable disk mounted when you run OSX installation.

    Help greatly appreciated!

The SSD will appear in disk utility when it is connected to the MBP via USB?  If so, format it in disk and Carbon Copy Cloner utility to copy the internal HARD drive to external SSD.

When you are finished, test the SSD by starting the MBP with the option key down key, and then click the SSD.  If she starts the MBP, then swap in the MBP.  If it does NOT then the MBP, internal SATA cable is suspect and should be replaced.

    Ciao.

  • How to install a bootable SSD blank OSX

    Hi guys,.

I have a Macbook Pro mid 2012. He has a regular hard drive 500 GB. I just bought a new SSD 250. It's a Samsung, so I have to install windows inside in order to apply the new Firmware... no problem.

    Now...

    (1) how can I install Mac OSX in the new Virgin SSD? the disc will be placed in the logic board to have the best speed.

    (2) can I access all my files later to the old 500 GB hd which will have all my files in the optical Bay? I mean I don't know if a HD that has used to have the os x installed can be as easy as a regular external HD access. I'm not sure I'm clear with this question. I don't want to lost all my previous files.

    Thanks for your help :-)

I have the same PBM and just the SSD even have improved. I used "Carbon Copy Cloner App" to clone my hard drive of origin-for the new SSD.

    http://Bombich.com/

I use a 'USB to Sata' adapter to fix my SSD on the MBP, so I could clone the HDD.

After you install the new SSD and load the operating system. You will need enable the 'trim' for your Samsung SSD support.

Open "terminal app" and enter this command: "sudo trimforce activate" then select YES, then YES again... reboot when finished.

  • Cannot install Windows on Bootcamp after replacing 3 TB FusionDrive with 1 TB SSD

3 merger to drive has been replaced by 1 TB SSD drive. When reinstalling OS X I see that the 128 GB drive of Fusion is still available as a hard disk, which prevents me to install OS X or Windows (Bootcamp) on the SSD.

I tried a few ways to install:

    1. OSX on SSD (recovery Internet Mode, delete all partitions and repartitioning, SSD)
Installation fails when you try to install
    2. OSX on FusionDrive (128 GB), Bootcamp on SSD
OSX installs fine, Bootcamp does not work. First time (10 Windows) I got an error message i/o failure and winload.exe, second time (8.1 Windows) a back message with 'failed to load the operating system, press CTRL + ALT + DELETE. That part a few times.
    3. OSX on FusionDrive (128 GB), Bootcamp on same drive
Working, but limited to 128 GB for OSX and Bootcamp
    4. Make the logical Volume (fusiondrive) with 128 GB and 1 TB
OSX works, but can not give more than 64 GB to my Bootcamp. Bootcamp to 64 GB ok.
    5. OSX on FusionDrive (128 GB), Bootcamp on FusionDrive - to SSD with Winclone
8.1 clean Windows Installer, Sysprep. Everything looks ok in Winclone. When you try to reboot I get a message similar to "failed to load the operating system

I would like to at least 800 GB on my Bootcamp. Does anyone know how to make this work?

iMac late 2012, 1 TB Samsung EVO has replaced the 3 TB drive (installed to the authorized service partner Mac).

Error - cannot install to root - CC want to put cc aps internal SSD flash disk. (I know LR5 go on Mac OS disk...)

But what about the rest of the aps?

Thanks for the note Jeff... Finally, I have determined that you must create an Applications folder on the SSD drive. (Of course) Make sure that your installation in the CC office location points to the SSD...

    then all is good...

LR5 (according to Adobe) MUST be present on your OS drive...  Thanks again!

Cannot install drivers HP 8600 on a Mac. He installed all the s/w from the installation disc. Then it tries to download more Apple software and returns this message: "the software for this printer is curretnly not available. Please contact the printer manufacturer for the latest version of the software. "Could not find any help to search the HP Web sites and Apple.

    Hello

I doubt that the original CD is supported by the Lion, without worrying that a newer version is available on HP.com.

Remove the software using Uninstall HP under Applications > Hewlett-Packard.

Then go to the Finder, under computer, go to the boot volume (Macintosh HD) and open the library-printers.

Move the HP folder in the trash, then enter PPDs\Resources\Contents. You can search the 8600 folder and put the results in the trash.

Next reset the system as follows:

    * Be aware that reset the printer system will eliminate any existing queue and reset all custom settings driver.

Click on the Apple menu and then click on System Preferences.
    Select Print & Scan.
Right click (or Ctrl + click) your product with the Printers list in the left panel and then click on reset printing system.
Click OK to confirm the reset.
Type your user name and password.
Click OK. The printing system resets.

Now download and install the lates below software:

  • Cannot install iOS 10.0.1 with Apple Configurator 1.7.2

    Hello

I have 60 iPads in 5 carts (12 per basket) that I need to install some applications on. They are already configured and supervised with Apple Configurator 1.7.2. I've never had problems in the past with AC1, I've always been able to install the updates and applications easily with very few questions, because of that I've never felt the need to update to AC2. However, this time during the update of ios and refreshment, I get the error 'complete with an error - cannot install iOS' 10.0.1 And now 12 of my iPads are stuck in recovery mode.

I tried before wipe them off and re supervise them, but I always get the cannot install iOS 10.0.1 error, followed by all the iPads stuck in restore mode. I tried to update only 1 or 2 at a time. I tried the update/supervise them with no apps queued for installation. I tried to restore the iPad via iTunes, which works, but when I try to put it back on AC1, I still get the same error mode and recovery.

I tried searching online for compatibility with the new iOS and AC 1 problems but found nothing.

I would like to know if there is more information I should provide that might help.

    Thank you for your time.

    Ben

    Hi Ben

Makes your iPad successfully update to IOS 10, we have approximately 400 ipads, I've updated a single ipad at 10 IOS using our MacBook pro AC1 OSX El Capitan to test, ill try another now and see if its success.

When you connect an ipad update the Configurator re-download the IOS 10 or use a cached copy?

How your Configurator is connected to the internet (behind Proxy, Wifi, Ethernet), perhaps the downloaded IPSW file is corrupted and need to be redownloaded removed\.

    Kind regards
