Cannot install preinstalled VMware 7.14 or VMPlayer

I have Windows 7 Ultimate x 64 running. Here is a screen of the Setup program and the Task Manager:

VMWare_Setup.JPGtaskman.JPG

Here is the log file. Any help would be appreciated. I downloaded als file 5 times with and without download akami Manager. I also get the same thing when I try to install VMPlayer

Well the next thing to try is the extraction of the content of the package install VMware-workstation - 7.1.4 - 385536.exe using the following command syntax:

VMware-workstation-7.1.4-385536.exe /e c:\wstmp

This process takes a while after refers to the command prompt and the extraction is complete.

Then in c:\wstmp, there are 66 files and you run the "vmware workstation.msi" Package Windows Installer and this allows to bypass the initial screen of the installer of VMware Workstation which shows as empty.

  • PlayBook Simulator beta (Win) v0.9.3 - cannot install in VMware Player

Hello everyone. I am fairly new to this programming PlayBook and have to face a frustrating problem. I installed the earlier version and have been more or less successful in programming.

However, with the new version, I am unable to install the Simulator in VMware Player. I have uninstalled, reinstalled, re-downloaded and re-installed, etc. and continue to have the following in the on-screen display in the last step of the installation of the virtual machine.

In the earlier version, the display shows - loading of the neutrinos... and proceeded to complete the installation.

In this version the display shows - loading installer... .and poster cd/EULA.txt in the bottom of the first screen scrolling text. I can scroll up and down and display a lot of text but nothing continues or finishes the installation of the virtual machine.

    I would like suggestions.

BTW, my system is Windows 7, 64-bit, 6 GB memory, 800 GB of disk space.

Thank you in advance for any help you can provide.

    Terry

    It is (very) difficult.

Do not press the "enter" or the arrow key down.

You should stop to support anything at all times when only a few lines of text to the left.

Then down one line at a time. Otherwise your entry extra will be interpreted as

your answer to the question who is supposed to be 'y '.

You will be successful after trying several times.

  • Cannot install/upgrade Vmware tools 9.9.0

    Hello world.

I encountered a problem with the installation/update more recent Vmware tools v.9.9.0. Once I chose to update the tools and they have been downloaded, you receive an error "corrupted file from the update server. Check your network connection and try again later. If the problem persists, contact your system administrator or the VMware Support. And now whenever I press the button "download and install" I get this error message and I can see Update tool does not try to redownload the image tools.

I couldn't find where temporary image has been saved, so I reinstalled Vmware Player and tried to download and install the tools to aid different network interface. And even once, I received a message about a corrupted image.

How to solve this problem, do you have any suggestions? I get annoying messages on the new tools available every time I start the VM.

Solved by using this response: Re: VMware Tools missing in the Installation of VMware Player 7

I googled a few times, but I found nothing.  What should I do to fix this?

    Thank you!

You can post a screenshot of the settings of your virtual machine? Can you try to install an older version 1.1? To see if that works and try the upgrade again?

  • Can I install the vmware tools on a HP Proliant 380 G5 with VMware ESXi 3.5 Installable U3 with HP management components?

    Hello, I have install ESXi 3.5 U3 on a Hp Proliant 380.

I have created a virtual machine to Windows 2003, and when I want to install VMWARE TOOLS from Vmware Infrastructure Client, it does not install on the virtual machine vmware tools. Nor has received all messages from a Client Infrastructure and neither of the virtual machine.

    Why could this happen?

    Thanks in advance

    NO.

The installation of vmware tools lies in an iso file, which is located on your host ESX itself and is mounted on the virtual machine when you click "install vmware tools".

Weather or not your host has a cdrom drive is not serious, you can always add a virtual cdrom drive to your guests and use iso files, or the cdrom drive on the PC that you are using the VI client from.

If you vm doesn't have a virtual cdrom drive, it can't mount the vmware tools iso, and you cannot install the vmware tools.

  • Cannot install VMWare Player, workstation or anything like that

All appear to be the same way with a message like:

    VMWare.png

However I've checked that the file exists and that I can access. What is the problem?

I had VMWare Player 6.0.5 and could not install/update VMWare tools. So, I suspended my operating system prompted and rebooted VMPlayer. He told me that there is a new VMWare Workstation something 10.x and I wanted to upgrade to it. Okay, of course. Downloaded the update and tried to install. Said to uninstall VMWare Player 6.0.5. Being suspicious, I went and downloaded VMWPlayer 6.0.5 where he screwed up the installation of Workstation 10.0. Of course, he did. So I tried to install Player 6.0.5 so I could return to my suspended VM. In my opinion, what he said that I could not install because I haven't restarted. So I rebooted. Now, I can't install Player 6.0.5 or Workstation 10.0.0 or whatever it is. They all fail on the same way saying the cannot find a .msi file I can find and access.

    Help!

BTW, you guys have far too much product and names making it confusing. What should I use? Player? Workstation? Spear? vCenter, Fusion. The list goes on and. Do not try to give me the list of "well it's for this reason and this other thing". The point is there are too many products and it is too complicated. If you want to tell me what the structure of the product is just limit it to the product I should use. I have a Windows 7 box and you want to run Ubuntu in a VM desktop - that's all...

    Thank you.

    Hello

Please note that this is a forum for peer support and therefore, it is mainly users of VMware help other VMware users who make up the bulk of this forum. It is VMware employees responding in time in time, but in your case here (Note: VMware employees are recognizable because they have a small 'vm' next to their name logo)

With regard to your current number. If you install VMware Workstation, then you have also installed VMware Player next.

Even after the expiry of VMware Workstation, you can continue to use the free VMware Player.

    Hope this helps,

    Welcome to the community,

can you confirm that you do not rename the installation package for example "vmware.exe? In this case, rename it to something else and restart the installation.

If this does not help, you may need to manually remove the old components (see http://kb.vmware.com/kb/1308)

  • Cannot install vmware tools for xp vm

    Player 3.1.3 on Ubuntu 10.10

Installs a XP VM to this platform - formerly hosted by VMWare Server 1.x on XP also. It works! Installation of the Vmware tools just leads to the 'there was a problem updating a software component. Try again later and if the problem persists, contact your system administrator or the VMware Support. "So I... Help, please!

By the way... German XP inside the VM!

    Herbert

You must first extract the files in the archive, then use sudo in the command line in a Terminal.

An example would be in a Terminal...

    sudo vmware-installer --install-component=vmware-tools-linux-8.4.4-301548.x86_64.component

To display the GUI installer and then you just follow the instructions.

For VMware Windows tools that you have downloaded the command line should be as follows.

    sudo vmware-installer --install-component=vmware-tools-windows-8.4.5-324285.i386.component

  • Cannot install Fedora 11 as a guest on VMware WS 6.5.2 with Windows 7 as a host - using 64 - bit hardware

    Hi people,

Did my research, but was not able to find answers, so here, I'll post my question/problem.

I have a HP Compaq nx6125 laptop which has an AMD Turion 64 2200 MHz processor, running Windows 7 Ultimate. I installed the VMware Workstation 6.5.2 full trial and try to install Fedora 11 on a virtual machine.

I understand that the Turion processor is a 64-bit processor, so I downloaded the iso image of Fedora 11 x86_64 DVD.

First of all, I need to create a VMware virtual machine (Guest OS: Linux) and choose a version for it. If I choose a version that is one of the 64-bit options (for example, "other Linux 2.6.x kernel 64-bit", since there are specific options for RHEL but not for Fedora), I get an error message at the point where I try to boot from the virtual machine and begin the installation, saying "buslogic SCSI is not supported for 64-bit guests in this version...". ». Then the machine virtual everything stops.

I guess that this laptop have a SCSI bus, but my disks are IDE and I can see (information system) SCSI bus is not used (?).

On the other hand, if the virtual machine, I create is one of the versions of 32 - bit option, I get what seems to be just a warning, saying that I am under guest (Fedora 11) OS 64-bit on a virtual machine that is configured to run a 32-bit operating system, and suggesting that changing this to ensure that the client 64 - bit OS will work correctly. What would be the risks / disadvantages of force the installation anyway? Or maybe I should upload an image of Fedora 32-bit and run it on a virtual 32-bit machine, even if my hw is 64-bit? I don't find it too appealing...

I wonder if someone on the forum has worked with this combination (VMware WS 6.5.2) and Fedora 11 running it, preferable on a HP Compaq 6125 under Windows 7 Ultimate? If so, I'd be really grateful comments / pointers.

I am new to the world of the machine virtual, so bear with me here.

Thanks in advance for any help you can provide!

    Kind regards

    Santiago

"Buslogic SCSI is not supported for clients 64-bit in this version... »

This message says that the 'virtual' storage controller you have chosen to use for your virtual machine for Fedora 11 (VM) is not supported for 64-bit guests.  It is not related to the host hardware.

To change the controller for your virtual machine, make sure that the virtual machine is switched off voltage, and then open the settings for it and change the BusLogic to free storage controller.

  • Cannot install windows updates and updates history screen is empty.

I can't install the windows updates. I have Windows Vista Home Premium. My automatic update is running... I studied and thought that the problem was with some service pack 2 I had to install - I did and nothing helped. My windows update history page is completley empty and Iwonder why. Also, I now can't seem to connect my Nokia phone to my computer as he finds the right driver online, but then it cannot install it. Can someone tell me what on Earth is cause of these problems. Thank you

The computer had only preinstalled Norton or McAfee, but I've since deleted these programs because I found them to be boring...

A properly installed, fully functional anti-virus application should never be boring. Although that pretty much excludes from the application of all the Norton and McAfee in my humble OPINION, there are others available.

  • Cannot install Win7

Hey everyone, I'm pretty knowledgeable when it comes to such things, but I'm totally stumped here.

I have an Inspiron 15 3537 which comes preinstalled with Win8. I hate it, so I want to install Win7.
My first question was that the laptop wouldn't start my Win7 DVD, but after doing some reading, I read that I had to turn off activate/UEFI Legacy - that worked. However, now that I formatted the laptop HARD drive, I can't choose the partition on which I would like to install Windows. I get an error message that says something like "Cannot install on this partition as the GPT is" or something like that.

I did some reading up on top of that question and it seems that I have UEFI enabled, but if it is enabled, I can't start the DVD.

    Someone pleeeeaaaase help!

    It's ok, I fixed it.
In the configuration screen, I press SHIFT + F10 and then access diskpart to clean the partition. All sorted now.

  • Cannot install the printer. The print processor does not exist.

Windows 7 Enterprise 64 bit.  I am able to install HP LaserJet printers but no virtual printer.  I can not load the XPS from Windows printer or Print to OneNote.  I also tried to load more than one PDF printer and none of them work.  The error I keep gettig to "cannot install the printer.  The print processor does not exist. »

    Any ideas would be appreciated.

My laptop has been reloaded from a picture, and I was not able to start the print spooler at all. I have studied the issue and cleaned files and registry entries and was able to print on real printers, but not virtual. That's when I asked the question.

Finished reimage the computer again, and once again, I could not start the print service. We discovered that the image that the laptop was built from was actually a VMWare virtual machine, so we started to look in that direction.   We had to delete the following entry in the registry and rebooting, how the print spooler began to work very well.

[Print HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Print\Monitors\ThinPrint for VMWare Port Monitor]

You wanted to post this in case someone else ran into a similar problem.

This is what worked for me.

I copy the files from the print processor from another machine to work with the same architecture as the one who has the problem (x 86 or x 64).

Step 1: Stop the print spooler service.

Step 2: Copy all the files and folders on the system to work under C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\x64.

Step 3: Make a backup of the system files listed in the C:\Windows\System32\spool\prtprocs\x64 problem.

Step 4: Paste the files that you copy from the system of work in the case of the United Nations, the problem system.

Step 5: Start the print spooler service.

Try to connect or install your net printer and it should work now.

I hope this work for all of you.
