Cannot install Recovery on replacement discs card mother p7 - 1017c

I had a mother fail on me. At first, I thought it was the operating system, but after trying the recovery discs I ordered at HP, I thought it was my motherboard.  I thought I could replace it with the same. Bought the same exact motherboard from Ascendtech. I installed the Board of Directors. Then I inserted the recovery disk and got the following error message. "This computer does not support the system recovery media. You are not able to restore the system with the media". Called HP support and they basically said that I have to take the PC to an authorized service center, so they can program the new motherboard at the cost of about $200 the representative told me. I'll have to buy another copy of Windows 7? And it will install on the new motherboard. (Representative of HP was that it wouldn't) Help, please!

Hello

You should be able to buy cheaper Windows 7 (called OEM version) with a new motherboard OR download Windows 7 and use the product key on your computer to install. You must contact Microsoft to activate after that. Please use the following link to download:

    Hi Milad,
Did you get the new driver from the web site of Toshiba or others.

The graphics card in your laptop is not necessarily compatible with the latest drivers from the manufacturer, simply because it is specially designed for your laptop. Usually only the drivers supplied by Toshiba works correctly.

  • I can't recover my system (DV6000) using recovery discs after replacing the card mother/HARD drive

I have a DV6408nr (windows vista Home premium) I had to replace the motherboard and hard drive. When installing the new motherboard (same part No.: 443775-001) and insert the recovery (bought from HP) discs that I have, I received an error message stating that the PC could not be recovered using my disks. The serial numbers on the label service and in my bios do not match. When I entered the serial number of my bios in HPpartsurfer, he said that the system is a DV6449us. I already checked my RAM and HARD drive is brand new/not formatted. I used these recovery discs (manufacturer: 483905-003/483906-003) successfully before on other flags of DV series. Is there a reason why these discs should not work on two motherboards in the same system with these similar specs? What should I do to get my system recovered?

The number of the motherboard and other show information in the bios of the new Commission?

The numbers do not match the recovery disks or information is missing in the bios.

If it's really a mismatch, then you will need to find the good recovery disks or use a Dell installation disk operating system and use the product key from the sticker on the laptop to get activated, and then manually install the drivers.

If the bios tattoo is damaged or missing information only a used HP Center can then fix the tattoo.

  • Satellite Pro A120 - cannot install recovery disc

    Hi - I have a Toshiba Satellite Pro A120 PSAC1E-04H00VEN model number

It was less his hard drive and I posted previously to try a 160 GB drive without success. I thought that the drive may be defective, so I have now acquired a 120 GB drive. It is not new, but assured me that it works. However, it does not work in this laptop! As before (with the disk 160), when I try to install it using the Toshiba restore disc, the operation just sticks on the "Please wait..." message. "for 30 minutes then the machine shuts down. Assuming that the hard drive is ok there at - it something more, that I can do to determine the problem with this laptop?

FYI, this is what happens after installing the hard drive:
I turn it on and get this message: NTLDR is missing. Press Ctrl + Alt + Delete to restart.
I insert the product recovery disc, put off and then again when you press F12.
I get a soft Purring over the Toshiba logo. I select the CD/DVD symbol and get a short message saying: the installer inspects the hardware configuration of your computer.
I then get RAMDISK image loading... which takes less than 2 minutes.
I then get a short message saying: from Windows Preinstallation Environment. Press F6 if you need to install a third-party RAID or SCSI driver...
I then get it please wait... and after 10 seconds, the fan goes into overdrive! This Carry on during 30 minutes with him please wait... message, then the laptop turns off automatically.

    Any ideas anyone?

    Thank you.

    Hi Lapitup,

Before you buy another HARD drive, you need to test a different installation disk you have already tried the two hard disks with the same problem so I think that the problem is not HARD drive itself

If you have a normal installation disc of Windows, you can install Windows on this drive. So you can check if the recovery disk works properly or not. Theoretically, the disc could be wiped off so that the files cannot be read properly.

In the worst cases, some of the material is affected. Then, you need professional help of an authorized service provider.

  • Satellite M70 - cannot install recovery disc

    Hello

I had to remove the drive HARD Toshiba Satellite M70 for use on my Compaq laptop (Compaq HDD crashed). I had to install XP and other stuff after you have 2 left and used with a Compaq laptop with no problems. Now, I had a new HARD drive for compaq and fixed the Toshiba HDD back in.

Using the recovery CD I wanted to restore the Toshiba to its original state.

I have the recovery DVD-ROM product. F12 abd selection cd/dvd would not recovery.
Error loading operating system is the message I get.

I can even install with my other XP pro original cd.

Once I put the HARD return drive to Compaq its job very well, I can even install XP.

What is the cause. Is that it has nothing to do with the MBR?
I am very familiar with computers so please give me a way out of this!

    Thank you all,.

    Kind regards

    Hello

In my opinion, the case is clear. If you install the laptop with a normal installation of Microsoft disk and the HARD disk works fine in another computer it something wrong with the Toshiba Recovery disk, maybe it s scratched.

What you can do is to install the laptop using the disc of Microsoft. Then download and install all the drivers from the Toshiba site.

Alternative order you a new drive for recovery of an authorized service provider.

It of your choice what you do. ;)

  • Satellite A100: Cannot install recovery after having deleted the Ubuntu partition

    Hello friends,

I have the Satellite A 100. I was using dual OS - windows vista home edition and Ubuntu. Now I wanted to remove Ubuntu and so I did the stupidest thing - directly delete the partition with Ubuntu which had the GRUB files. Then to the laptop computer restart of course the Grub bootloader wasn't there and if the computer is not started or load any OS. Then I thought that I will reinstall Vista with product recovery CD but the progress reached at 2% and then I keep getting error 1117 a failure to read. I tried so many times without success. I even tried to install XP, but it says Intel boot agent cannot make connection. And it also fails.

Please help to reinstall Vista or XP. I'm really stuck and I learned a lesson not to tinker in mobile when it isn't those of Cup of tea!
    Any help is greatly appreciated.
    Thank you!

    > Now if I download EasyBCD how would I be able to run it or how should I use it?
You will not be able to run EasyBCD because you are not able to boot Vista.
EasyBCD can be installed only in Vista and will allow you to change the Vista Boot Manager.

I think you need to format the entire disk HARD again should erase all partitions and must attempt to reinstall Vista.

I recommend using a free tool called GParted LiveCD. Google for what it helps format the HARD drive!

  • Cannot install recovery image on my Equium after upgrade HARD drive

    Hello

I just installed a new hard drive for my Toshiba laptop Equium I contacted Toshiba who informed me that I could mount up to 1 TB, I opted for with a 500 GB at halfway.
After installing the drive I inserted the disc of recovery after a while, it was loaded with the operation completed successfully message. Next message put in place windows could not configure windows to run on this computer hardware. Then windows could not complete the installation to install windows on installation, this restart of the computer...

At the end of the restore process a message tells me to remove the recovery disc and output as soon as I get the laptop stops and doesn t re boot automatically. During the next restart windows message Vista starts for the first time then the cycle starts again. I tried to reload several times recovery according to the instructions, but not good.

    Any help much appreciated

I put t know which model of laptop you have, but if the recovery image is Vista, it must be quite old model, maybe Equium A200.
To be honest I didn't experiment with the upgrade of the HARD drive on older models, but I can imagine the image recovery are a problems with hard drives with huge capacities.

Display please model name and which HDD you inside now.
By the way: if possible, try to install Win7 using Microsoft installation disc. I m it will be safe works without any problem.

  • Cannot install recovery image on satellite Pro P300-1EX

    Hello.

I have never had many problems with a single laptop in my lifetime of work. I'm almost ready to throw this thing out the window. I have a satellite pro p300-1EX.

I wanted to do an install new os just to make things a bit faster for the customer, it was 8 hours ago.

First, I installed a Home Windows OEM pre 32B version. Then I saw that the CD would not work.

So, Okay - I'll bring back factory default:

    (1) there is no link repair starting and pressing F8
    (2) there is no HARD drive untilty when you press 0 - that does nothing
    (3) there is no recovery console, by putting in an OEM version of windows vista
    (4) I try to download recovery disk creator bloody software and get this - it does not work. It creates a shortcut to a file that's not here yet. TRDCLcher.exe, can you, im speechless.

So now, I have to spend £30 of my own money by obtaining a disc sent to me? I don't think so.

So, what can I please? It was a horrible experience. Nothing works. The recovery partition, I see is still in tact, it's just like the laptop doesn't recognize it. Instealing the OEM deleted all tools by default, but I can't NOT THE DOWNLOAD.

    Please, please help me.

    Thank you.

    Hello

Maybe it sounds stupid now, but this is simply.

Here's my explanation of how it works:
Almost 4 or 5 years Toshiba offers laptops without recovery DVD but with recovery image stored on the HARD drive. As much I know about former Satellite/Satellite Pro P300 recovery image was recorded on the second partition of HARD drive in the folder named HDDRecvery. This model laptop was shipped with Windows Vista.

As you know original recovery image can be installed n in two ways:
-You can use the recovery HARD drive installation method - http://aps2.toshiba-tro.de/kb0/HTD1303440001R01.htm
-You can use the created recovery DVD disk

HARD drive recovery facility can be made if the laptop has only factory settings. In this case in advanced startup options (F8), you will have the option to fix my computer. If the notebk has been installed with the version of the OS or any other operating system of this option won't be available more. Because of this Toshiba has preinstalled reminder with the message for owners of laptops create recovery DVDs.

    Your questions:
    > There is no link repair starting and pressing F8
If this laptop doesn t have to factory settings it will not appear in the advanced startup options
    > There is no HARD drive untilty when you press 0 - that does nothing
If you have European book this model with zero will not work. It only works with the United States and Austraian mobile.
    > There is no recovery console, by putting in an OEM version of windows vista
I put t understand it. What happens when you start with the OEM version?
    > I am trying to download bloody recovery disc creator software
If you have the European model of laptop, it can not be downloaded. This piece of software is included in the recovery image only.

    > So now I have to spend £30 of my own money by obtaining a disc sent to me
I understand, but at least with the original recovery DVD you can install OS and all necessary things in an hour only.
    > The recovery partition, I see is still in tact, it's just like the laptop doesn't recognize it.
Yes. Without factory settings you will not have access to these data.

    Follow these steps:
-start your laptop and press F2 to enter the BIOS settings
-set the BIOS to default settings and reboot the laptop
-When the laptop reboots press F12 to get into the boot meny
-When the boot menu appears on the screen put the original DVD of recovery in ODD
-Choose the CD/DVD drive on the list and press ENTER
This will force it's STRANGE to be the first boot device and you should see process on the loading screen. Click next or OK nothing change and wait for the recovery procedure starts.

Please try it and let me know exactly what is happening.

  • Cannot install Recovery factory default on Satelite A500 system

    Hello

I can't recovery my system to factory default.

I have a Toshiba Satellite A500-148. She did with Windows Vista and a few months after I had received an upgrade to Windows7, Toshiba.
One of the first things I did was to create a DVD recorey, and I still have it.

Now I want to reinstall the entire system with Windows7 so I think do a default system recovery in the factory using the Toshiba HDD Recovery option. BUT I can't do that.

Firstly I have red the instructions shipped with the laptop, and tried to follow the fashion.
The instructions that I try to follow up was:
    -Reboot the laptop
    -press F8 during startup
-Choose the entry "repair your computer".
-Choose the layout of the keyboard
-enter in my account to access
    The following options appear:
    -Startup Repair
    -System restore
    -Restore Windows complete PC
    -Windows Memory Diagnostic tool
    -Command prompt

I expect the "Toshiba HDD Recovery" option, but this option is not shown.

So, I ask for this help.
    I'm doing something wrong?

Mind you, I already did (a software factory using the Toshiba HDD Recovery recovery option default) in the past, most exactily before installing the upgrade to Windows7. But it was a long time ago and I'm not sure all the steps that I had done.

    Kind regards
    Ricardo

    > Now I want to reinstall the entire system with Windows7 so I think do a default system recovery in the factory using the Toshiba HDD Recovery option. BUT I can't do that.
After that update Win7, everything changes so if you have factory settings again use please created Vista recovery discs.
    > Notice, I already did (a software factory using the Toshiba HDD Recovery recovery option default) in the past, most exactily before installing the upgrade to Windows7.
Fix. As long as you are using Vista, you will be able to use this option, but after upgrade is not.

Reinstall Vista and later you can do what you want. Either use you Vista or Win7 to be upgraded again.

  • Replaced the card mother zd8000 and need a hand, help please...

    Hi all

I just replaced the motherboard on our HP zd8000 (pentium 4 3.0 ghz, 2 GB ram, Win XP) with an opportunity tested but good MB and need help with the following.

    (1) I cannot play DVD movies as the error 'no dvd decoder' present which was not a problem before now?  Where can I get a free decoder that works as Windows displays only paid versions?  We have the drive to dvd with lightscribe. SOLVED! CNET has DECODER.

    ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    (2) internal temperature, according to SpeedFan, revolves around 140 degrees with just surfing the Internet.  Is this a normal temperature because I have only one of the three fans running on the laptop?  Is in any case to all the three fans running to be sure there is no problem?  I'm positive, I plugged everything but still once a single fan seems to work?

    (3) I discovered that some of the pins were damaged in the card reader.  I can get the seller to give me a discount, not intend to tear apart just for it, but is there the concerns of short or otherwise?

    (4) our battery arrested charge years ago, these were known as such, but I bought a new one last year and hope that the replacement MB would load it again.  No luck though.  Can I do, update of BIOS etc, in order to make the battery charge?

    (5) whatever it is you people can think for me to test to make sure the new motherboard is working correctly?

    Thank you, Ralph

PS, It's a replacement card correct according to the serial numbers of MB.  Everything seems to work properly except mentioned.  Our graphics came out on the original MB.

Some of the sons had grown out of the harness that connected the two other fans.  I double checked and replaced these so now the laptop works quite a bit cooler.

    EVERYTHING IS GOOD TO GO!

  • Cannot install recovery image on Satellite C660

    Hello
I tried to restore a Satellite C660 factory settings because it be extremely slow to start.

Using the original Toshiba recovery disks the process gets to half way through and then gives the following messages...

    Error restoring image
    The device is not ready

ERROR: ImageX could not be Win7 V:\HDDRecovery\SWImg\15489XSP.swm Index 2 HARD C: drive!

    If someone can advise?
    Thank you

Unfortunately there is no workaround to force the recovery image installation runs correctly.
All you can do right now is to set the BIOS to default settings and use the drive recovery again.
Make sure that the disc is clean.

Do you use the recovery disc for the first time?

  • Satellite L300D-242 - cannot install Vista after replacing HARD drive

Hi wonder if anyone can help mei have a L300D_242 toshiba satellite that broke down and I bought a new hard drive for it because the original was not good.

I tried to install a Vista premium 32 bit on the new hard drive, but it does not install until the 4th stage and then stops or hangs until he finishes.

Does anyone know how to install a new hard drive and windows on this laptop?

    Thank you

    Hello

What Vista did you use? TOSHIBA recovery disk or a disk of Microsoft Vista?
Format you the new HARD disk before starting the installation of Vista?

It is possible that the new HARD drive is not good and therefore the system can not be installed properly
You can check the drive HARD using a tool called Drive Fitness Test download this as its a freeware program and test your HARD drive.

  • Cannot install recovery image on Satellite C650D

    Hello

I have a C650D who fell just out of warranty and died on me. I did the recovery discs to purchase then thought that it would be a simple matter to use and I would be able to use the laptop again... seems I was mistaken :(

I tried the F8 key at startup to option and all I get is the following message is displayed:
No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key.

I inserted the recovery disk and after an amount of noise from the hard drive and windows message takes over the files then I got a box asking me to choose the language I wanted, followed by an error message that there is something missing... I don't have the time to write down full seizure quit on me. After trying to load (incase there was something wrong with the first attempt) get the windows loading page then nothing...

Can someone tell me what I need to do to fix this please?

    Thanks in advance

    > No boot device - insert boot disk and press any key.
I fear this message has something to do with Mr. HARD disk HARD drive is recognized correctly in the BIOS settings?

If so, the value please BIOS to the default settings and use recovery DVD again.

By the way: you can see the language option, but you can not choose another language than the original language, you got with your laptop. In other words if you have BONES of the Spain, you can't choose another language. You have only BONE on the Spain.

  • Re: Cannot install recovery image on my Satellite L655

    Hey...

Well, I have a Toshiba Satellite L655 windows 7 64-bit something when wrong with my hdd.and I try to restore to restore it to the factory... in the middle of the process, it didn't... and now I can't seem to start back... and I do not have a recovery dvd...

I managed to get the partation files to recover, but it extracted, I do not think that all files add up to about 10 GB...
    These are the files
    BIN
    BOOT
    IMAGES_BOOT
    PLANFOLDER
    SOURCES
    ZZIMAGES
    ! V6_00_03.VRP
    BOOTMGR
    DATA. INI
    EDITAF. BAT
    PLANDATA. INI

Therefore, because of this im changing the hard drive.
so my question is can I make a disk bootable recovery of these files or to restore the system some how with these files?

I will use that help and thanks in advance!

    > so my question is can I make a disk bootable recovery of these files or to restore the system some how with these files?
Unfortunately not. It is now too late. Bootable recovery disk can be created with the preinstalled Toshiba Recovery Disk Creator.
I m wondering really you didn't he create in the past.

Now, you have two options: either you use the Microsoft installation for the installation of the OS disc, you must order the new recovery DVDs.
