  You have the SSD connected to sata port, and it must operate to the maximum 150 Mbps transfer speed, 133 or 100 no matter what readings are displayed, as would an IDE drive.

  The PCIe MXM slot is for HP install graphics cards in some models CTO (configure-to-order). Without the card installed when you purchased the computer, there the fan and radiator bad sets.   Assuming that the integrated graphics controller is OK, try the following:

  Launch a command (as a Runas administrator) window and enter the following commands in it:

  powercfg-h off

  powercfg/change-standby-timeout-ac 1440

  The first command turns off "Feature of putting into hibernation"

  The second command replaces the timeout stansby 24 hours when the system is connected to AC power.

  (The number is in minutes).

  My old configuration has two hd with ESXi 3.5 U3 on disk 1 and my VM on disc 2. Now no drives are seen by ESXi 3.5. Yet see bios of them.

  Plug your storage space on good sata port. I have an eye for a sata controller from dell PERC 5 can be had quite cheaply on ebay and others.
