  • Win 7 Pro cannot install the upgrade of Vista 64

I bought Windows 7 Pro on the Microsoft.com site my Dell Studio 540 had Vista 64 when buying back about 4 years ago. I also bought the dics of Microsoft backup at the same time. The Win 7 Pro disc has the number 6/11 X 15-60651-03. I bought the UPGRADE, so I wouldn't have to start over with a new facility. What should I do to perform the UPGRADE?

When important changes to your computer, for example an upgrade, it is always recommended that you back up your system before installing a new version of Windows. In your case, you can upgrade to Windows 7 depending on the edition and the architecture of Windows Vista, you have installed. If you are running a 32-bit version of Vista and upgrade to a 64-bit (Windows 7 edition) version, you'll have a pure make install, it is the opposite case.

If you are using Windows Vista Home Basic or Premium consumer editions, you can only upgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate. In addition, you can make downgrades, which means, if you are running Windows Vista Ultimate Edition now, you cannot downgrade to Windows 7 Home Premium. You perform logical upgrades:

Windows Vista Home Basic > Windows 7 Home Basic, Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Edition Home Premium > Windows 7 Home Premium or Ultimate

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Professional, enterprise or ultimate edition

Windows Vista Business > Windows 7 Enterprise

Windows Vista Ultimate > Windows 7 Ultimate.

  • Cannot install Skype 6.18

For the past week or so I try to install the latest version of Skype on my computer laptop windows 7. Whenever I'm trying to update my computer crashes and continues to do so until I have start the computer in safe mode and restore to a point before that Skype has been installed. If I boot it normally following an accident it will crash once again as long as the software Skype is on my computer. Blue screen, it gives me after the crash said something about a system Service Exception, I don't have a pretty good look to see any useful information on the blue screen. I checked and all my drivers and programs are up to date, but no matter what I have installed the latest version of Skype causes my computer down. And go back to an older version and waiting for a new version or fix is therefore more a viable option now that the old versions eliminated summer, and they are no longer available for download anywhere anyway. This problem happened some time ago, but I didn't post it here

I had Skype version 6.9 and then there was an update to version 7.0, I tried to do the update, but it wouldn't let me for some reason any. There was a certain days until that my Skype would be more usable because of the version. After many days, I tried to remove and then reinstall the new version of the Web site. I downloaded it, but when I went to run it, it says that I can't install it because I need to uninstall Skype 6.9, I had already done. I have tried everything to uninstall the version 6.9, but none of them worked.
